We stayed here last night for NYE. We had our NYE party here with a group of friends. it was clean… looks like is set up for ecojomy business travel. was the right place for a nye party with kids. The pool was over chlorinated to the point of chemical warfare. I suppose for germophobes this is a plus, and it didnt deter the kids from swimming a bit. The night desk was friendly. If you are in town on buisness and would like a super affordable but clean room in the Grape road corridor Springhill suites is adequate.

we stayed here for a hockey tournament. overall the staff was good with the exception of one guy at the desk in the evening. He was quite rude to all of the hockey teams because a few kids were causing trouble. He wasn’t smart enough to figure out which kids were making the trouble so he decided to be an ass to all of us. he looked like the one man wolf pack guy from the movie«the hangover» and he was equally as strange as the guy in the movie. so a word of caution to the many hockey teams that stay here. if a few kids cause problems, they will close the breakfast area that many of the parents from the hockey teams were sitting, talking, and drinking at in the evening as punishment to all hockey teams instead of dealing with the problem. Rooms were good. breakfast was okay tasting, but lacked variety. We left a note asking housekeeping to leave three extra towels with a generous tip. tip was taken, note was gone… no extra towels.

This is a new property and the rooms and hotel are in great shape. Rooms are clean and well appointed. There is a nice snack bar in the lobby and everything else is as you would expect. This hotel is a great value and I would definitely stay here again.

Room and common areas look and smell clean, are modern looking. Front desk is friendly. Hot breakfast included. Beds are comfortable, rooms spacious, paul mitchell hair products, and location great right near all the shopping. I especially appreciated the little touches like delicious soft cookies at front desk and the andes mints and thank you notes in the rooms.

The rooms were clean, but it was several little things that added up for me. The TV selection wasn’t the greatest. The breakfast in the morning was not great either. The food was over cooked and then under cooked. There was no ice an any ice machine as I searched. I’ll come back and give it another try if I’m ever in the area.

Rating hotels on Unilocal is tough. The five star system could lead one to think that it’s the same star rating system as is commonly used for hotels. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a different system. You see, I don’t expect the Springhill Suites to be the Ritz Carlton. But, if they do a good job, they should still get four stars. And that’s the case here. This property seemed newer than it actually is(2001). It’s in good condition. It seems to be a step above the two other Marriott limited service hotels(Courtyard and Fairfield) clustered nearby. The rooms are a decent size, though not huge. Staff is extremely friendly. My only complaint was the fitness center, which was tiny and only had a couple pieces of cardio equipment in it. There aren’t a lot of good hotel options in the South Bend, IN area, but the Springhill Suites suited our needs just fine, as long as you’re not looking for or expecting a Ritz.

By far, Springhill Suites is my favorite place to stay when I come to Mishwaka for business trips.(I’ve stayed here at least a dozen times last year.) Sure, there’s a bunch of hotels and inns in the area but this is where I like to earn my Marriott reward points. The rooms are clean, spacious and there’s a refrigerator & microwave in the suite. The breakfast bar is simple but better than the Courtyard Marriott around the corner or the Fairfield Inn. They usually have fresh fruit, selection of yogurt and pastries. Of course, the DIY waffles are fab and the omelets are not too bad. I love that they have to-go bags and take out boxes so I can take these with me if I’m running late. The staff at the front desk is super friendly and accommodating, too. The Meijer is across the street and several restaurant choices that are easily accessible is a major plus for me!
