Definitely a «dive». We arrived at the end of Sunday brunch. Tons of dirty tables. Wait staff very friendly and attentive after we sat down at one of the empty(dirty) tables. I ordered shrimp and grits. Husband ordered a Soufflé. Mine was bland. They didn’t have spinach for his Soufflé dish. Will not be back. It was a Sunday at 1:45 so not many choices open in downtown Mobile.

My kind of bar. Not overly loud or too fancy to wear a hoodie/T shirt in. Great food(gumbo was amazing) and decent selection of beers. Bathroom was a bit divey but that was in no way a deal breaker. Worth the walk from the hotel

Great dive. Service was quick and friendly. Hipster crowd — very laid back. Good was good. Had chicken brined fried chicken over pancakes and over easy egg

Not a bad spot to grab a bite to eat and a beer. The place has a kind of Dive bar feel with some pretty good food. I had the blackened chicken sandwich and I had no complaints about it. I was curious if the place had any cool signature drinks as they were called the blind mule maybe they would feature some Moscow Mule drinks but the bartender said they didn’t really have anything so I chose to have some beer instead. I would have liked to see something special from the place but it was still solid overall.

Went there last night. I don’t know if they got a new chef or what — but the food was GREAT! So much better than the last time we went. The Seared Tuna Salad was excellent. We also had the Cajun Mahi which was also perfectly cooked! Glad to have my favorite dive bar’s food back up to par!

Was a cool little place. Out of the beer we wanted but nonetheless it was a good time. Definitely would return in the future.

The best burgers in Mobile. Salads are huge, fresh and the dressing is home made. Its a very cozy spot with local art hanging on the walls. There is a really nice courtyard. Live acts, bands and standup comedy upstairs some nights on the regular. The specials are always something to write home about and you can tell there is a certain love put into the food. Can’t beat the Blind Mule chili. Whenever I’m in Mobile I make it a point to stop there.

Went there for a dinner on a groupon, but boy, did we make a mistake. Ordered hamburgers, which took an eternity to arrive. no waiter service whatsoever with no followup at table. Food was one of the worst I have had. I don’t get it… trying to give local eateries some business downtown and been mostly very very disappointed. This place was TERRIBLE… yuck. Felt it was money totally wasted, and would never go again. Place was substandard as well in cleanliness. So it makes me think, «whats in the kitchen?»

On approach, our server was incredibly rude. This behavior continued throughout our visit. The waitress put her hands all over the rims of the glasses when she brought them to our table. Three items we asked for on the menu were out. The only wine available was Cabernet. When we asked why they didn’t have much wine, the waitress stated that they are a craft beer bar. What does that even mean? We were overcharged on our ticket. The restroom didn’t have soap. Any time our waitress told us they were out of something, all she would say is, «We’re out of that.» Okay… Then what do you have??? Overall our whole party was very disappointed in our service. What food they did have, was decent.

If you are looking for a good rustic local restaurant and bar the blind mule is superb. The entire restaurant has character. The food selection is impeccable and outshines most local eateries based on its capability of changing. The chefs are well trained and know how to make your mouth water. I would suggest trying the blind mule bake for dinner, the Texas squealer for lunch, and the shrimp and grits for brunch. My personal favorite is the boneless wings with taste like burning sauce. Each chef makes them a tad different sometimes blending in sriracha, jalapeños, and ghost pepper cheese. The best flavor wing I have ever experienced. No taste buds killed just amazing spice and flavor. The homemade ranch or blue cheese pairs perfectly… and BTW the ranch taste better three days old though they always have a fresh batch for the day. Ask the servers what’s best for the day and they will tell you. And pray that their chef Buffy has made se desert that morning because there is literally nothing better. Enjoy!

My wife and I had purchased a coupon book for a school fund raiser. We went to the Crescent Theatre and decided to use one of the coupons in the book for The Blind Mule. The menu online looked good. Upon our arrival I started to question our decision. The physical building looked rough and rather rundown. The a/c wasn’t working very well, but we stuck it out, and I am glad we did. The food was spectacular. It far exceeded our expectations. I had the grilled mahi, with grilled zucchini and squash, and cheese grits. Every piece of this meal was worthy of 5 stars. My wife had a grilled shrimp, scallops and pasta dish. Hers was very good, also. The scallops were not as tasty at the shrimp, but the shrimp were amazingly good. They had a smoked flavor and could not have been tastier. We will be repeat customers. If great food in a whole in the wall restaurant is your kind of thing, you will love The Blind Mule. Great food!!! My only reason for not giving it five stars is the building itself. It needs a little work.

So we are down here for a class and this place is on the«100 places you need to eat in Alabama before you die» specifically the shrimp and grits. I had that and it was really good the sauce was a little watery but not a deal breaker. The cheese sticks, fried mushrooms and fried pickles were all great. Hamburgers big and awesome the gumbo could be spicer but was good. Chicken also great! Eat here if your in the area! Service great service awesome drinks! Loved it!

The Blind Mule is our favorite lunch spot. We usually don’t get a chance to grab lunch till after 1pm and it’s doesn’t close at 2pm like Royal St Café & Mama’s. If it’s a nice day, we like sitting out in their courtyard. Our favorites here are the Shrimp & Grits, Loooaded Nachos and Buffalo Chicken wrap. The wings are good too! It’s a divey looking place but we love it. Oh, if not too busy, they’ll deliver nearby as well.

Just went in for a burger and a beer. Cool place, kind of divey, in a good way, very friendly staff, all the bartenders and waitresses were cool. They seem to have lots of different beers and I saw a couple of fancy looking drinks on other tables, so it looks like they have a good variety of drinks. I asked if they would mind putting the basketball game on, and they were very accommodating. And then I ordered the Roll Tide hamburger. It was delicious! I thought it was better than the burgers at Callaghans. Cool place, friendly, neighborhood kind of feel. I’ll be back.

So disappointed! Sat at a dirty table for 20 minutes before anyone came over to clean it. Even then, no one talked to us. Waited longer and never received menus. All in all, heard one server say that she swore to God that she would be with us soon, but she has me doubting her faith and my own. Never ate there because of their inefficiency and poor management. Sad. :(

This place is rad! Lots of beer options, super solid burgers and they also have cool live bands play(and from what I have seen they do a great job of taking care of touring bands) Plus a friendly staff and rad patio, way cool.

Really a cool place. Unique atmosphere. Beautiful courtyard with fountain. We had lunch. Typical burger sweet potato fries, fried pickles. All were very good. Chile was excellent Great place for lunch. It seems they have a party atmosphere at night with live music. Definitely with a visit.

Stopped in for brunch and it was a pretty cool place. Bottomless Mimosas for $ 10 during brunch. We wanted to have them filled a little more often but we got our money’s worth. The server was great but all alone until noon on a day during Mardi Gras. She handles it as well as one can but needed help, for sure. The brunch menu is apparently ever-changing. On this visit, we had the shrimp and grits and the Charlie Brown hash browns. The shrimp and grits come in full and half sizes. I ordered the full and it didn’t seem much larger than the half but was several dollars more. With that said, it was very good. It has Conecuh Sausage with shrimp, onions and cheese grits. The sauce was pretty spicy but it wasn’t too much. Charlie Brown was cheese hash browns topped with chili and an egg! Epic. The Bloody Mary was amazing. Lots of veggies and great flavors. If you want something strong, try the blurry Murray! Whew!
