Here is another place I have been to many times over the years but never wrote about. The rating of 3 ½ is more appropriate. This restaurant is also an OTB which is in a separate room with its own entryways. The races are broadcast in the restaurant as well. Overall this is a sports type of place and a nicer one than many. The menu is decent and has a variety of apps, salads, sandwiches and entrée’s. The quality of the food here is very good. The place is usually full on the weekends. The prices here are not the best on the food and drinks for what they serve. A bit on the high side for what you get. I had the prime rib on my most recent visit. It was good. You get a one pound piece with a potato and veggie. My friend had a prime rib French dip sandwhich and he said it was very good. I have tried many items over the years here and never had a bad meal. Overall this place is a nice alternative to the other casual places in the area and you can get a decent meal and be entertained especially if you like horse racing.

Only have been here a handful of times, the drinks are good and the food was really good! Lil expensive but it’s worth it, don’t bet on horses much but it’s fun to do while I’m there! Good to switch it up sometimes and this is a good place to try something out of the ordinary

Food is great. But the bartenders aren’t friendly and act like you are annoying them if you ask for anything. One of the bartenders dropped off my boyfriend’s beer with two inches missing off the top — if I pay for a full beer, I expect a full beer. I asked for a manager so I could talk to him about a job — never came over to talk to me. The bartender gave me an attitude when she dropped off my tab and just straight up looked like she hated her life. My boyfriend and I were looking for a new spot to go on Sundays and this could have been it if the service didn’t fall so short. Such a shame because the food was really good.

Stoney Point is my favorite bar/restaurant to go to within a 15 mile radius. It’s northwoods feel is so satisfying and adds a great atmosphere to the place. Their food is high quality, phenomenal stuff. My girlfriend and I load up on appetizers everytime we go! Their Nacho platter is enough to feed 4 people. Their drink selection is also great. Seriously, go check out Stoney Point!

Soo good. Enjoyed a Three Floyds Yum Yum, Chicken Wild Rice soup and Juicy Lucy! Originally from northern Wisconsin so everything felt like home

The service is very slow and so is the kitchen. Our appetizers and dinner came out at the same time and they did not even wait for us to clear our salads. The food has really changed. This used to be our go to spot to catch a game and some good food. Now the food and specials are just not good. Very dry chicken, ribs and fish. I was a big fan of the soup now it is all salty. There are plenty of Ale houses on LaGrange.

I’ve only been on weekdays for a drink & appetizer type of evening and the drinks are good, their fried pickles are my favorite! Haven’t had any problems. I usually feel like I stand out as a young Latina here, the crowd has usually been older white gentlemen, but I’ve never felt uncomfortable.

Stopped by the Stoney Point for lunch this afternoon. I’d say this is a pretty typical neighborhood sports bar with the exception of being able to place bets on horseracing. If I lived in the area this alone would bring me back to this establishment again. They have a separate lunch menu available and I believe every item was a flat price. I decided to go with the seared ahai tuna salad. I was impressed with how generous the tuna portion was for a lunch serving. The salad also had walnuts, avocado, and mini oranges. Very tasty! I ordered an iced tea to drink and that was pretty standard. I found it a little odd that the waitress just brought over a second full iced tea without asking me if I wanted more… I didn’t. This left a full untouched iced tea on the table when I left. Maybe the Oregonian in me taking. but super wasteful. There was a very small arcade section in the way back so maybe kids are allowed here during certain hours of the day. For a sports bar in the Chicago suburbs, I’d say not bad. I’d go back again.

Went for a late dinner on a Friday night. Verrrrrry odd vibe. Like a pick up joint for people 40 and up. Unnecessarily loud. Lotta locals. Hostess acted like we were in the wrong place. Not unfriendly, not friendly. Seemed shocked that we asked for a table(lets just say we arent the demographic they seem to cater to.) Conversation was impossible. Waiter couldnt hear our orders. Ordered steak. Hubs had a chicken dish. Steak was pretty good. Chicken dish was just awful. Chicken breast in an oily sauce. Chicken was unseasoned. Overcooked unmemorable veg. Waiter was extremely smug and short, but again, not unfriendly. Service was good. I would say skip if if youre not of their demographic(white and middle aged.) They arent very friendly otherwise.

«The incredibly shrinking ribs» This review is for my last 4 visits. They serve the ribs on a large square plate and they used to hang off the plate at a diagonal. Then they just fit on the plate. Now they shrunk to the size of an appetizer. I came her for the all you an eat ribs for $ 17.99 that is clearly shown on their website. When we got our drinks I said, it’s rib nite. The server said, yes it is. ½ slab for $ 12.99. What? He said they kept changing their suppliers and they couldn’t get the quality right. B.S. But you failed to change your website. Nice. When we finally received them, I was wondering if the bbq sauce cost more than the meat? As I had a thin stripe across both ½ sides. They are still tender. But dry as the bones they are hanging from. Can’t anyone just leave the food as is and charge more for it. $ 20 bucks for a slab is a good deal, but not when you advertise $ 17.99 for all you can eat. «The Server» As we waited for the check. The server walked by 6 times. My glass was empty and we were both finished eating with bones piled high. I had to flag him down and then he asks. Do you want another vodka lemonade? Yes, let me hop into my Tardis and go back 15 minutes when I was still eating and needed a drink because I didn’t even have water. I get the tab and he charged us for that extra drink that would have been delightful. It took another 5 minutes and then he grabbed the check holder and said, any change. Yes actually, to the bill. Paying to get out is taking longer than dinner. We were seated in front of the bar at the waitress station. Now I know why he was throwing away so many bills after he got the cash. He was pocketing the extras that people weren’t noticing on top of the tip. Slick! Now I’m not coming back here because it’s the second time this jerk tried pulling this crap!

I’ve been here a few times for food and drinks. Food is always great and everybody seems to like their dish. Good atmosphere with a fireplace in back and some couches to watch a game. My dad enjoys the connected OTB and slot machines. Will definitely go back.

Great service Great Food Great Drinks Great Prices… Do I need to say more … We come here two-five nights a week. It has a great atmosphere. Family friendly as well, but if there is a hawks game on it does get loud! We love coming here

I had NY strip and Melissa the chicken, we shared, both were awesome !! Great service. Many unique food items on their menu. You can partake in OTB and video gaming, but those activities are not the highlights and placed off the main isle. Many types of seating and the music is in the background. A happy place to drink and eat with friends and family.

Met with a few family friends out here for dinner tonight. Decent beer selection From what I had the food was alright. We had the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was over cooked; the tuna was quite tough and more cooked than seared. My biggest complaint though would be in service. Nearly every time I asked for a beer it took about 10 minutes to get it. This really disappointed me and was the biggest turn off. Overall, average beer tap selection, decent food, and pretty poor service.

This place has fun bartenders, good food, and occasionally friendly customers to befriend and hoist up a few shots with. That last comment is to be used very loosely. But mainly the regulars here are bored, lonely, or addicted older male gamblers in desperate need to attention. they are all quite obnoxious, loud, and annoying alcoholics. It’s quite frustrating to try sitting at the bar with a couple friends and chit chat without some old guy blirting out something completely retarded at your group which makes absolutely no sense. But it makes them laugh loudly which just gets annoying so dam fast.

Stoney Point is a great option if you want to hit a sports bar with good food and a quality beer selection. The space is half OTB and half restaurant-sports bar. My favorite app is the pretzel breadsticks with cheese… just delicious! Usually, I order a sandwich for my entrée,(the burgers are very good) and they make a great side salad. The beer list is very respectable and they change up the featured list regularly if you are looking for a nice seasonal craft beer. Stoney Point has become a fast favorite of ours due to the consistent quality of food, reasonable price point and upstanding selection of beer.

I have been back a few times over the past few months and things have improved. Service has been good. The food is very good. I had the full slab ribs and they were delicious. The vegetables are equally as good as is the slaw. A friend had the pork chop and it looked good, I should have taken a picture a she munched it down in no time, saying it was excellent. Chicken salad no complaints either. I did view the nacho plate at another table and it is huge. Decent amount of TVs for watching a game. And another perk of off track betting. Great place for drinks, dinner and some fun.
