I am only giving this place one star but for some reason Unilocal keeps reverting to three stars. What are they thinking with this place? First the obvious, with a name of «Captains Table» you would think you were in for some good seafood. Not this place as the menu only has 4 seafood entries and quite honestly they each sounded awful. The menu is extensive, way too extensive. From burgers to seafood to sandwiches to steaks to Italian to salads it offers it all, but it does it all poorly (like a crappy diner). Cut the menu in half and make those dishes well. The food we had there last night was not even edible. The place was packed which just tells you that the average schlub has no clue what good food tastes like. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat so I guess people go there for that cause it definitely isn’t for the food.
If another restaurant opened up next to this place they would put them out of business in two weeks.

I personally really like this place! It’s not fine dining, but it’s a great place to go to get some drinks and a bite to eat. For starters, this restaurant is huge! It doesn’t look that big when you drive by, but when you enter there’s a whole restaurant to your left that opens up to an outdoor patio. To your right there in a bar that’s half indoor and half outdoor (when the weather permits.) The service is always good and the drinks are always flowing!
Now I do have to admit, the menu selection is hit or miss. The appetizers are basic fried food that I would pass on. The steak/beef in the sandwiches and burgers tend to be overcooked. My favorite menu items, which are surprisingly really good, are the wraps. I’ve had a few different ones and they are all really yummy! I usually get them with the sweet potato fries and leave a happy customer. I have yet to come here when it’s really warm outside, but I’m excited for summer so I can try the outdoor area.

Hands down the best Rueben in town since I moved from Rockland to Orange County. I only order that when the wife and I go out there for a quick bit. I truly love this please. The burgers are good also.

Food is just so/so. It serves it’s purpose as just an average run of the mill restaurant. Having said that, beware of the summer and the type of people that frequent this place. It appeals to the Hells Angels and they take up the entire bar… what a shock!

Uh where do I start?! No bottled water, frozen rubbery fried calamari, cold complimentary bread, and dirty water/seltzer. But hey the décor is pretty good.

We had a very large party which was well received and promptly seated. Since there were 10 of us we had made reservations however I have done so at many a restaurant and not been seated. We had 1 waitress and a number of bus boys all of whom were quite efficient, consistent and courteous. Drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic were dependable and quite good (the later remark for the margarita I ordered). We had both appetizers and entrée’s which were flavorful, hot and really quite good. Specifically I had Steamers which although small were perfectly cooked. As well I had grilled fish which was excellent as were the side dishes. I would like to return without such a large party and set my own pace but I will definitely return.

I been going here for years! just love this place. i went there yesterday for my birthday and had a few beers. had a great Cuban sandwich. They have daily speciials.
There are 4 different areas to choose where you want to eat. booths by the bar in the front. main dinning room. a dinning room next to the outdoor seating area.

One of the must stop when you are on the motorcycles and you’re taking a beautiful cruise down the road to the captain’s table is on the list. They have two outside bars two inside bars there’s a place for everybody.

Ahi Tuna was cooked at too low a temp. It needs to be seared. Pale gray and limp when ordered rare. Medium rare burger was served medium. The waitress took 45 min to ask for our order. It may have been an off day. Ambiance is good. My son loves the sand pit. Stick to the French onion soup and wings.

Bar rags and people that never grew up UNITE!
If you wanna meet girls that are 35 but still live there lives like they were in college or perhaps see the some of the people you remember who were popular in high school but are now just miserable wrecks; THIS is the place to go.
As you sip your beverage and look around you will enjoy the scenery of make up caked battered «women», loser bikers who wear club jackets that no one cares about (outside and inside Monroe), or just simply look at the guy who was popular in high school but is now a meth head.
I give this place 2 stars as the food was good and you can rest assured if your feeling down about yourself this place is like a spa and rehab for your self esteem.

good service. as my boyfriend and i walked into this restaurant, we were greeted and seated right away
good food. been here a bunch of times and it never fails.
i got the fried calamari and cobb salad. my bf got some pasta dish (he likes it, hes very picky)
i love this place and continue to.
very attentive to us, cleared empty dishes right away, asked if everything was ok (some places dont do that anymore). and several ppl asked if everything was okay
this place is pretty packed and alive for a thurs night… must be a good sign
my bfs only complaint is the water tasted disgusting. i drank it and i thought it was fine

This review is for the bar only.
Being a slower night, I could tell that the bartenders were ready to head out early. I’m trying not to be too harsh considering there was only one bartender working that night, but they could’ve been more attentive. I found myself having to try to flag them over multiple times and they didn’t really «check» on us when ever they were serving someone else near us.
This was not a packed bar. There were plenty of seats available but I definitely saw the bartender pay a little more attention to those that seemed like regulars. We had a group of three and were there to drink and drop money, but left feeling not as satisfied with our night out as we could have.

I researched the menu ahead of time to make sure they had exactly what I was looking for dinner. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and lump crab cakes. Judging by the name, I expected good, fresh seafood. When the shrimp arrived, it was not what was expected. It was previously frozen. It had a very fishy after taste, and seemed to be water logged. It was disgusting. Next the «lump «crab cakes arrived. They were very overdone, salty, inedible. There were no lumps of crabmeat. They were almost meatball shaped balls. Lump crab cakes are loose flat white not fried cakes. I returned the crab cakes explaining why I was doing so. They were taken off the check as they should’ve been and I ordered nothing else. I will never eat there again.

Lived here for a long time and never stopped by. Don’t judge a book (or restaurant) by it’s cover. This place seems to have gone through a major renovation. Doesn’t look like a lot of parking but there is a huge parking area along the side.
We went in with a group of 14 after a motorcycle ride, no reservations and it was like a ground ball for the staff. Good service. All the food that came out looked good and there were no complaints. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was excellent! They used fresh pork that was very good.
Three (four?) full bars. Inside dining, outside dining, a beach for the kids, a stage for entertainment, good selection of beer on tap and very comfortable inside. I’ll definitely visit again.

I really liked this place!
The Captain’s Table is a true local’s hangout for folks both young and old. There are essentially five different bar areas within the space. Plenty of room to move around if your area gets too crowded (which it inevitably will). Ample drink specials and lots of options on both the bar menu and the main menu. Wings were a huge hit with my party and I thoroughly enjoyed my personal pizza (large enough for two people). There was a band playing in the next room but we were still able to carry on conversations with each other. Acoustics are very good… Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue would be pleased! Waitstaff was friendly and accommodating.
Nicely mixed crowd, positive vibe, and extremely clean bathrooms. Win-win for Monroe!

I ate here twice in one day…
Ok it was a holiday and they had an outdoor band and we got there early.
Food was excellent as was the service and entertainment.
