We are frequent customers here because the food is good(especially love the burgers), and the service is always very good. We have a toddler and it’s not always easy finding family friendly diining that also delivers a decent meal. Our little one loves it here, and the waitstaff is always really accomodating.

Was looking for a new place to try for wings and burgers for the kids. Glad we stumbled upon the Tavern. Nice ambiance, wings were good, kids said the burgers were good. I decided to take a chance on the Lobster grilled cheese. Have to admit, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Love it when a restraunt found on Unilocal surprises me!

Only come here if you have nothing but time to kill. My family and I came here for my birthday brunch after my sister said the place was good. They give you a pretty good brunch deal: $ 21 for bottomless mimosas/bloody Mary’s and a meal. We were promptly seated(reservation) and there was only one other table of people. Our waiter took our drink order and returned with them quickly. After taking our food order is when things started to take their time. Our food didn’t come out until we had 2 rounds of drinks, and were mistakenly given another tables order. Our waiter was nice, although not attentive, and we had to flag him down for each time we needed another drink and for the check. Plus, I don’t think he checked in with us once. My other big issue was with my second drink. My sister was joking about how I got a smaller wine glass than her, and while looking at it, I notice that the glass still had lip marks from the previous user. The glass had been cleaned, but not very well. The saving grace was the food and atmosphere. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict. And while the crab cakes could have been a little bit crispier, they were flavorful and you get your money’s worth. All in all, brunch took about 3 hours, which none of us planned on. Not sure if I’ll be back.

This place continues to excel in every category. Our«go to» place for burgers and pub fare as well as heartier dinner fare. We eat here at least twice per month and have never been disappointed. Recently had a dinner salad that more than satisfied. Lobster Mac and Cheese or Lobster Grilled Cheese also worth a try. Good selection of craft beers as well.

I moved into Easton nearly three years ago and wanted to find a good local place where I could get a burger and a beer and watch a game without trekking into the chaos of Fairfield(P.S. as a former Manhattan resident, I’m appalled at myself that I should now find Fairfield to be ‘chaotic’). I had driven by the Tavern dozens of times but never stopped in when one day I had an opportunity to have lunch there, so I took a chance. I’m very happy I did. The décor was quite a few notches over what I had expected. The bar is a comforting wood grain and the central fireplace gives the place a homey feel. There are some very good beers on tap and the menu is a cut above your standard pub food. I ordered the French Onion soup and the turkey club. Both dishes exceeded my expectations. It’s not that there isn’t standard pub food on the menu, there is; it’s just that it’s executed better than most places. The noise level was very good and the waitresses and waiters were very attentive and friendly. I felt ‘at home’. In the 3 weeks since I discovered this place, I’ve been there to eat or drink 5 times and been happy each time. Definitely recommended.

The manager/owner at this bar/restaurant does not know what they are doing. Their staff have attitude, take a long time to get to tables, mix up orders, and do not check on their tables constantly. The prices are extremely high for the quality that you receive. For example, $ 16 after taxes for a average cheeseburger is offputting. The burger is only worth approximately 9 dollars. Not almost double the price. The burger took 25 minutes to be served. If the owner does not lower their prices, fix their staff, and offer specials(not 70 cent wing night which is expensive), then this restaurant will most likely fail, similar to the last 3 restaurants that were here before it. All of the restaurant skills are mediocre to poor here. You can do better.

Good happy hour spot in an area with a fairly limited number of dining establishments. They have a decent beer selection and some interesting cocktails. They also can accommodate larger groups. I’ve had a number of their appetizers and all were good. The fig and goat cheese flatbread, spinach and artichoke dip, and Mac and cheese are all very yummy. The price point is very reasonable as well.

I was looking for a place to get some drinks and food before a dreaded MRI. Found this place on Unilocal. Menu looked really good. Standard pub fare with a twist, I’d say. I love me a cobb salad and this one was good. Not the best I’ve had but pretty good. Bartender and servers were nice… It was ladies night so you know those martini orders were flowing in but he was attentive and friendly. I’d go back again if I was in the area.

Wow! This place was a great find. I knew better than to listen to bad reviews by people with no friends on Unilocal(u know what im talking about). Beautiful layout with pub style décor. Indoor/outdoor seating and plenty of roomy booths. Lobster corn chowder was rich, flavorful and creamy. Bratwurst appetizer platter was delicious as brats were split and grilled with such great flavor. Huge portion, enough for 2. My brisket panini was cooked perfectly with excellent flavors complimenting each other(bacon, horseradish Chipotle mayo, cheddar cheese). Don’t miss the side of tobacco fried onions. Not spicy at all just really delicious. Our waiter Shane was excellent and never missed a beat. Even the blues music was an excellent and perfect compliment to the dining experience.

I like this place, but it is hit or miss. Granted, I’m there on Tuesdays when kids eats free so maybe that has something to do with it. It’s always a 45+ minute wait after we order even if it’s not busy. When a restaurant begins cutting corners, something is up… the blue cheese with the wings is now watered down, the Fra Diavlo wings were very sad-basically marinara on wings with no heat or flavor. I don’t know. I expect more because I know they can do better…

I’ve been to Tavern several times at this point, ranging from lunch and dinner, to a quick snack with beers. I’ve always been quite satisfied with the food with the exception of the mac and cheese being so-so one time. It’s a pretty nice relaxed casual atmosphere too, with the option to sit outside. Good brews are available here for fellow beer drinkers!

1st Timers to the Tavern in Monroe, we stopped in «blind», as we just passing by and decided to give the place a try. Industrial, yet cozy, my wife loved the refinished concrete floors. She started off with a Bloody Mary — felt it was a bit thin, but the drink itself had a good amount of alcohol content. I went with a City Steam Pilsner draft(was good, I liked it). We ordered the bourbon bbq wings — they were very good, meaty & flavorful. My wife doesn’t like bleu cheese, so she requested ranch flavor. The ranch had a zesty, smokey flavor — we both enjoyed it. We both had burgers today — my wife had the Tavern Burger, I went with the Big Willy’s Brisket Burger. We were both very pleased with our burgers. My burger was the best I’ve had in some time — juicy, the smokey flavor of the brisket went well the hamburger meat. Extremely tasty(no ketchup needed, you know it’s an awesome burger when you don’t have to add a drop of the red stuff). Service was excellent — Jessica M, our waitress, was friendly & attentive. I don’t really understand all the negative reviews for the Tavern in Monroe. We might not have stopped in if we had checked out the reviews beforehand, but honestly, our experience today was 5 Star quality(and I don’t give out 5 Stars on Unilocal too often, check out my profile). We’re looking forward to dropping into the Tavern in Monroe again, will write an update when that happens.

If there was A zero marking ii would give it to this establishment. I am a business owner in the area and planned with the manager to have an area in the bar to have a going away party for a 12 year employee that was leaving. 13 people showed up and after reserving the area there was no space for us. Very poor customer service.

The wings are so small that they may be from pigeons. I have ordered them three times now, three strikes your out. Every time they have come severely over cooked. Also, I am very skeptical that they are indeed chicken wings because of their minuscule size. Staff is friendly and atmosphere nice. It’s a nice place to relax with a drink, but the food and menu needs a HUGE improvement. The bar bites have not changed in over a year, and all are deep fried.

My boyfriend and I visited here on a Thursday night. It was supposedly«ladies night,» but that didn’t seem to be going over so well. The service and food were good. Our waitress was friendly, but a little slow.(She was very young and obviously new). We ordered the Dublin Dip and the Roper Flatboy. Both were good but needed a little something extra to make them the standout sandwiches the menu described. The bar and restaurant are decorated nicely and have a very nice atmosphere. Overall, a pleasant experience. Stop by and check it out for yourself.

Came here for the first time with friends this week. I liked the atmosphere and décor, it’s designed to feel comfortable and relaxed. My food was ok, typical pub food. I can’t wait to return and try other items on the menu.

Definitely getting better. We came in tonight because Lenten eating is difficult. Jessica was our server. She’s so good! Patient, pleasant and understanding. I really feel better about my meal than the last time. My daughter and I had the salad wedge and the lobster grilled cheese. For dessert, my son wanted chocolate chip cookies and milk. I was a little PO’s because I wanted the s’mores dessert. Little did I know how tasty those freshly baked cookies would be. Yum squared. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal… double time at the gym tomorrow ;)

Hot the tavern for drinks again last night For the 2nd Friday in a row. Vapor cigs are not cool at the bar. I had to ask for a glass for my beer and each subsequent beer– had to pour them all myself – however the place was dead– I def expected more sttention. I’ll go again. def could use more innovation on the menu and put some cheese on all of the nacho chips plz

Rating any establishment below average(less than 2.5 stars) should bear some requirement for explanation. Running a business is hard. Saying to those trying that their effort is not meeting a reasonable standard thought to be average must be tough to hear. With this as a preamble, lhere is why I rate The Tavern at just 2 stars. The Tavern is a aesthetically handsome establishment specializing in the modern, ambitious menu offerings that replaced what used to be called«Pub Grub.» Essentially a bar with a dining room and the kind of place that every town should have: friendly, local and casual. Come in the Summer and you might find the front windows removed creating a really inviting, open air experience. When it is «on,» The Tavern will leave you quite satisfied. The menu is loaded with well thought out offerings ranging from high end sandwiches and bar munchies(wraps, burgers, sliders, salads, etc), to a selection of more substantive lunch/dinner options. The nightly specials are reliable and change with the season. Service is always friendly and prices are fair to inexpensive for the area. What’s not to love, huh? Why the 2 star rating? Challenge with the Tavern is consistency. You never know what you will get. Sometimes the food will delight you, other times you will send it back or not eat it at all. While always friendly, service can be abnormally — indeed painfully — slow. In case you are wondering, there is no correlation between speed of service and food quality. Sometimes you will get great food fast or lousy food slow, sometimes the opposite. There is no rhyme or reason. Speculating here, but I think the management knows this is an issue. On more than one occasion I have had a bar tab picked up because of really bad food or slow service. I’ve also benefitted from free offerings because food was ordered by a customer who got frustrated by the delay and walked out after ordering. I speak for many when I say we’re rooting for this place to get itself together. I’d love to revisit this review and rave. I will keep visiting when time permits the downside risk,
