Want to come to a place with above average food for affordable pricing? This place is that place! The staff is very nice and they prepare their food quickly. I really like it given the price I’m paying. On top of that, everything is prepared really neatly. I never thought food presentation to matter much in a restaurant like this but, hey, I was impressed. I can appreciate food when I know others have tried to maintain a high level of quality. You should definitely try the combo sushi bowl!

Fast friendly service and delicious food for a good price! I love coming here when I’m short on time during lunch breaks, it’s always good and the staff is always very helpful and nice. I usually order the large chicken teriyaki bowl with spicy tuna rolls. The sushi is really good and fresh for the price. The curry is good too, very rich and flavorful. Definitely recommend this place to anyone is the mood for some yummy Japanese food without the time or the budget for something fancy.

Started working in the area. Previously i worked in Irvine where poke is very popular so i wanted to find a place that serves poke. Unfortunately i couldnt find any poke but Taisho’s salmon bowls are a close second. Their salmon is super fresh and they offer a brown rice substitute! I wish their avocado was more fresh but its still okay. Also they are super fast. You are in an out in 7 minutes. So if you are like me and like to take 30 minute lunches, this is a place to add to your weekly routine. One thing i really dont like is the price. At poke places i could get 5 scoops salmon with avocado(plus other things like masago and crab meat) and spicy mayo sauce which would amount to $ 10-$ 11. At, Taisho, my salmon bowl comes out to $ 14.

Good fast and Japanese. The salmon Kama is the best. Teriyaki sauce on the side is the best way to eat here. Cooked to order and good service. Order with confidence.!!

Great ‘fast-food sushi’ — Quality salmon and spicy tuna. Also, great noodles! Really great, genuine, friendly service. I stopped by at about 9:05pm(they close at 9pm) recently, just to see if by some miracle they would still serve me(I know how awful that is, I used to work food service, but my craving for some sushi couldn’t stop be from being THAT customer). I fully expected to be turned away, which would have been justified, but instead they served me with genuine enthusiasm. That made me a loyal customer. Since then I order from them about once a week, and I’m never disappointed. What great folks! What great food! Pros: Genuine, friendly service. Tasty, fresh food. Single star deducted for price point — its a been pricey for what you get in terms of portion size, but it sure is delicious!

This place has been around forever. Fresh food and friendly staff. That’s all u need for little joint like this. I usually grab and go cause I’m not a fan of the smokey smell in the restaurant. But even if you dine in, you don’t walk out all smelly. My favorite is the teriyaki sushi combo. I get the teriyaki chicken with sauce on the side and substitute California roll with spicy tuna roll. The subsitute is only 40cent difference. And don’t get me wrong, I love their teriyaki sauce, I just prefer not getting sauce everywhere.

My fiancé and I honestly come to Taisho at least once a week, and there’s a good reason for it. Yeah, their menu isn’t extensive, but every time we go the food and service are great and consistent. The employees are wonderful(they recognize us at this point!) and the food is delicious! We’re huge fans of the salmon & avocado rolls, miso soup, sansai udon, and the spicy salmon rice bowl. Prices are reasonable as well. I highly recommend it!

Pretty cool concept. Lots of fresh fish, rice, and seaweed paper so you can kind of, choose how to eat your sushi. Pros: Plentiful parking Fast Fresh fish Cons: A little overpriced(small portions) for a little café style sushi joint. Very small with limited seating if you are eating here.

Went here on a whim after stopping by Fedex Print & Copy Center in the same plaza. Pretty small space with not a lot of tables. It must be a zoo during lunch rush! The girl who helped me was exceptionally nice. It’s always refreshing when workers don’t act like they hate their jobs. I enjoyed my Combo Sushi Bowl which came with salmon and spicy tuna on a bed of rice. They also put some seaweed in a little ziploc bag when you do take out. It seemed like it took a while for them to hand me my order but really, it was only 6 minutes. Both the salmon and spiny tuna were fresh. I added some furikake and Sriracha(both available by the soda machine) and my meal was golden. Fast but good food, friendly service. Enjoy.

Best chicken teriyaki in the Arcadia Monrovia area Tuna sushi bowl and salmon sushi bowl are amazing Very friendly service. Only one negative point. I don’t like them charging for extra teriyaki sauce

The staff is really the highlight of my visit. Very friendly people. I witness an interaction between the cooks and what seemed to be a regular. It was very cool to see the appreciation on both sides. The food wasn’t bad either. The cashier recommended a #5: teriyaki bowl with 4 California rolls. It was a decent meal.

Wheres’s the music?! It’s a really quiet place to dine. Cheap salmon rolls! This is a place meant for those who love fatty salmon and those with Americanized palate. The seaweed udon was basic and could stand to be a bit warmer when served. It cooled very quickly. Most people ordering got it to go.

I love this place. The teriyaki chicken is so good. They have a large an small portions that you can order. They also do sushi, what’s nice they have a party platter that is inexpensive and very good if your wanting to bring to a party oft for yourself. Always great service and they have indoor and outdoor seating as well. They get very busy during lunch but are pretty quick to get your food out. I always get the spicy chicken with extra sauce and seeds, so good. Stop on by and try.. Enjoy

Salmon sashimi and I are pretty tight so I couldn’t pass up a place where you can get it in a bowl and not have to tip your waiter(you order at a counter and sit yourself) I ordered the combo which was around $ 12(not sure exactly because my bro was spotting me) and included a bowl, miso soup and a drink. The salmon is 100% fresh and buttery which is exactly what I like. They also gave us a side of dried seaweed so I started rolling my fish in it to make a handroll. Overall a good spot for sushi although I do wish they had more indoor seating as it was 100 degrees and we had to sit outside.

I needed a quick bite and found this Japanese/fast food restaurant close by Arcadia shopping center. Pros Sushi bowls: it was a simple rice bowl topped with either salmon or spicy tuna. The slices of the salmon were very generous. Prices: for the amount of food I got and how good the salmon sashimi was, it was pretty cheap. It’s a good place for a cheap lunch. It’s not a fancy place where you would want to dine at since there was no air conditioning and tables were pretty sticky. However it is a good spot if you need a quick and fulfilling bite.

Taisho has some pretty delicious rice dishes. I usually order their chicken and beef rice bowl. Their portions are fulfilling and a good price. I just recently tried their chicken katsu curry and i loved it. It may seem like a small portion, but it’s more than enough. I didn’t even get to finish the bowl plate and left very satisfied. They have a couple seats inside and outside and is pretty clean. It can get pretty busy sometimes, so I like to call and make a phone order ahead of time and pick up my food there. They also have different kinds of dishes like sushi and noodle soup. All are worth trying!

This is a decent place for some cheap sushi bowls if you’re ever craving for some in the 626 area. We had two combos. The Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Combo Bowl and the Combo Sushi Bowl. The Sushi bowl was alright. For the price you pay, you get what you paid for. The Teriyaki and Chicken bowl was alright. The chicken was better than the beef in my opinion. We also got the edamame. Wish it was garlic salted though. You can add your own salt in it if you want. Overall, this place was ok. I’ve had better.

I’ve been here a handful of times for lunch since I work close by. They are located on the north side of Huntington Drive just east of Fifth Avenue. There’s a Baja Fresh, Robek’s, Zen Buffet in this plaza. It’s never been one of my «go to» places, but every once in a while I’ll feel like a teriyaki bowl or maybe some udon on a cold day. I think the tough part is that there are so many other choices in the area. Based on my «Check Ins», I’ve only been here 4 times in 4 years. LOL so it’s about a one time a year thing for me. Their food is nothing fancy or impressive for that matter, but it’s decent. Their prices are just okay, but you still end up paying around $ 10+ for the value meals or sushi bowls. Their udon is okay. They tend to overcook the salmon and put sauce on everything(the meat, rice, and veggies) if you order teriyaki(beef, chicken, salmon). The indoor seating is kind of cramped so I usually like to dine outside. If we end up at this plaza for lunch, I would always head towards Daphne’s(but now a Pieology). So in conclusion, it’s an okay place for something quick if you are craving Japanese, but it’s never been a restaurant where I craved their food. 111⁄100 Reviews for 2015

This place meets my 3 D’s requirement for a lazy weekend: delicious, decently priced(considering the quality of fish), and within driving distance. I cannot rave enough about Taisho — granted, I only ever get their Salmon Bowl or Sushi Combo Bowl, but I mean, really… What more could you need? It’s always fresh and tastes AMAZING. I live more inland and it’s hard to find good sashimi quality fish, and I often find myself day-dreaming about their salmon. Presentation of the dish is simple but it’s just so… Perfect. Add in some soy sauce and I can pretty much down an order in under the amount of time it took to pay for it. Total price is around $ 11-$ 13 for their Salmon or Sushi Combo Bowl, but they give you a considerable amount of fish-to-rice ratio so it’s worth it. Make sure to ask them to include some nori(every once in a while they forget, no biggie) and soy sauce packets. I would recommend ordering by phone before going to the restaurant — it’s usually full and not really a sit-in kind of place. They accept card and are pretty quick with their to-go orders :)

I am obsessed with this spot, like, seriously would eat lunch here every time if I’m in the area. Parking: decent size lot= gold! We never have a problem finding parking for our fat ambulance: D Service: always quick and courteous, this is a Chipotle to-go style Japanese food so there’s not much service involved. The place is always neat and clean though! Food; +MIXEDTUNAANDSALMONBOWL: So good, so fresh, so worth the price! I get this 99% of the time +great prices +quick service, perfect for people who only have time for a short lunch! –the salmon teriyaki was mehhhhh, only 4 dinky pieces of salmon, lots of rice, no sauce. Not impressed! They need to make this place a chain, I’ll eat here more than I eat at chipotle I promise!

Lunch after the dealership in Arcadia. THEAMBIANCE: This is a small«fast-food-sushi» joint with about 6 small tables located in a shopping plaza. You order at the counter and pick up your tray or to-go order at the same counter. By small I mean max occupancy of about 14 people dining in. The place was clean and they have a restroom on the side with a «customers only» sign. THEFOOD: I saw that they have a lot of teriyaki bowl options, which I believe is what they specialize in. For sushi options I saw the salmon bowl and the salmon and spicy tuna combo bowl. Their bowls come with steamed white rice and veggies. If you want to substitute brown rice, it will be a dollar extra for a large bowl and 75 cents for a small bowl. Avocado, as usual, is also an extra charge(75 cents). I ordered the Salmon and Avocado roll. You have the option of four(4) pieces at a price of $ 3.40 or eight(8) pieces at a price of $ 6.40. The roll was okay. The slice size is pretty big so you will have a mouthful and the freshness of the salmon passed the test. THETIPS: I would go for the soy sauce labeled«low sodium» because the regular soy sauce tasted very salty.

This is probably one of the best«fast food» Japanese restaurants that I’ve ever been to. Not only is the food delicious and fresh, but they have great value meals for the whole day! We ordered: 1. Combo sushi bowl(salmon + spicy tuna) with a choice of miso soup or salad and a medium drink. The salmon was fresh and the spicy tuna was delicious. For salads, you have the choice of potato, macaroni and cucumber & seaweed salad. I opted for the macaroni salad. It was okay, but filling enough for me. Total was less than $ 15! What a steal!(5⁄5) 2. Chicken curry($ 6.25) was delicious too. My boyfriend liked the flavors of everything. It definitely matches to that of other authentic Japanese curry places. Only thing that I would note is that the sushi bowls are definitely more filling. But nonetheless, it’s a great choice for those craving for curry(5⁄5). There are other great choices for the value meals such as their katsu bowl, salmon teriyaki bowl, BBQ beef bowl, etc for only less than $ 10! An entrée plus a soup or salad with a soda? I think that’s a good deal! Overall, the place was clean despite the fact that we ordered the food to go. The people here are nice and friendly. =)
