Currently in the parking lot of the monrovia location on memorial day. I was told they were closing at 8. I was there at 7:50 pm and was told all they had left was chicken for a mini bowl and no steak. I tried to order two chicken bowls. So my thoughts are why can’t more chicken be cooked? Is this the customer service I should expect from flame broiler. Sucks watching people outside eating and looks like they’re workers. Training needs to be done at this location because your losing revenue so your workers can go home early.

Fast, convenient & healthy! Three reasons why I eat here when I’m in the area. Plenty of parking in this large strip mall, so don’t worry too much. It’s right off Huntington/Mayflower, next to Great Clips, I believe. I will always come here to get a chicken bowl because it’s hearty(even the mini size) & their teriyaki sauce is delicious. Come eat here instead of McDonald’s!

Every time I come to this place at 15 minutes before closing these clowns say they don’t have vegetables or certain condiments? This is what happens when your place is ran by kids! Lets see how many owners go through this place

Seems that they skimped out on this bowl.

I agree with Bridgett below regarding poor food handling. On two occasions I watched the cashier take my money and then go into the kitchen, open a drawer below the grill and dig his bare dirty hands into the cabbage. He then proceeds to handle plastic bowls and prepare orders. Then he comes back to handle more money and repeat the process. Do you think he washes his hands after using the toilet with these standards? Like Bridget, I sent an e-mail to the store owner(Mr. Karim Khan Muhammad) and he sent me a message saying«we will take care of it.» I gave the owner a chance and he failed to take action. I just filed a complaint with the L.A. County Health Department so they can investigate and take action. I will not eat at this store again. See for yourself, none of the employees wear gloves or wash their hands. Enjoy!

The $ 5 Chicken Bowl sign is a lie. I feel like there was no flavor or anything that made me like the food to come back. Service was good, just not the false advertising on the window or the food. There’s a family owned stand in Foothill and Madison, same price but must better taste.

Very clean, Bomb food, fast service. No punk kid employees. And they have the green sauce in a pump already out for the customers. Best store yet, good job guys.

My bowl was disgusting! The rice smelled really gross and old, and the bowl was half empty. I will never go back to this place.

WHERE’S THEMEAT??? I ordered a beef bowl and a chicken bowl, but there wasn’t much of either. It should’ve been listed on the menu as a rice bowl with a little bit of meat. The food was good, but you don’t really get what you pay for.

The food was good but for the price you don’t get your money’s worth the bowl was nearly half full looked like they only put a little spoon of rice had to look for it. I will not be going back this place again

Giant«$ 5 Chicken Bowl» ad on the window is a lie. Also only fill bowl to the line in the middle of the bowl(half empty).

Flame broiler is a great all around package, good food at an affordable price. Good option for quick lunch or for my case lunch for everyone at work. Good customer service as well

Person who put my order together was also the cash register and also the person who took out the trash. Oh, and she didn’t wash her hands in between changing tasks. Emailed the owner about this, and got a «thank you for bringing this to my attention» response. Didn’t even sound horrified or apologetic. As Unilocal puts it, Eek! Methinks not.

Almost a two star review but I do like the food and know I’ll be back… I just don’t understand why they can’t ever get the order right?! I even had the lady repeat my order back to me this last time. She repeated it wrong… I corrected her and had her repeat it again and guess what? Still arrived to a messed up order! I don’t understand their difficulty with understanding and producing the correct order. Get it together people.

Fresh and delicious. I love teriyaki chicken bowls, especially when my veggies are nice and crisp. The brown rice is very good… and the magic sauce is just divine. Gives B-man’s a run for their money. Lol

This place is a JOKE. If you every get a bowl there, 7⁄8 of it is rice and hardly any chicken. It did not start that way, but I laughed the other day when I got a bowl there. A $ 5 roasted chicken at Costco could make a zillion bowls and taste much better. YOUCERTAINLYCHANGEDFORTHEWORSE!!!

Food is okay but the portions are super small. When they first opened a few years back they gave you a decent amount of chicken on the regular bowl but now I’d say it’s less than half of what it used to be. I keep going back every month or so only to be disappointed even further. Still hungry.

I hadn’t been to a Flame Broiler since I was in college(c/o 2008). I remember how fresh everything was and how I would pile on the green onions with the hot sauce. It was the best thing ever. My oh my have things changed. The food is decent, but perhaps I just have too fond memories. My world turned upside down when I saw that they don’t have serve-yourself green onions. The hot sauce wasn’t what I remembered. Sigh. My expectations were just too high because the food itself is still pretty good. Peter seemed to really enjoy it.

I tried this location because of an Amazon Local(similar to Livingsocial) deal. It’s to the east of the Kohls/Marshalls/Chili’s plaza. It’s in a little plaza with a McDonald’s and Sprouts Farmers Market. I like this place in that the food is better than Yoshinoya, which gets pretty boring after a while. I wouldn’t say that it is healthy though, since the meats are grilled. I like that they offer options like brown rice or white rice, or if you would like green onions on top. I always love getting The Works, because it includes both chicken and angus beef. The downside is that it’s expensive. A bowl is $ 6 and a plate is $ 7.50! Over all, it’s delicious food but I wouldn’t actively come here unless I have a coupon haha.
