Cross Eyed Clam

Great fresh seafood. Seems like the no frills kind of place that the fishermen hit for a drink or two before heading home. Everything we ordered was extremely fresh, but don’t expect haute cuisine. This is a basic, affordable and tasty, fresh seafood joint where you can grab a beer while watching a game. I’d definitely go back. The servers also tried really hard and were really nice.

Fantastic place! The fish tacos WERE amazing. Also had grilled scallops and shrimp. The chef even came out to chat. What a nice guy. And the service was so friendly. It was mid week so it was quiet. Entrance can deceive as you see a bar as you enter but the tables are off to one side. Went with kids and they loved it too. Good was great! Totally recommend this place!

My husband and I ate lunch at Clam Shack (the small offshoot next to Cross Eyed Clam by the same owner that’s open for breakfast and lunch) and it was the worst dining experience during our weekend in Montauk! I have no idea why this place has any positive reviews. The clam strips had barely any clam meat in them and the breading was bad. The fish tacos were like oversized KFC snack wraps with the same crappy fillings (small chunks of cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on a large soft white flour tortilla)…There are so many great places in Montauk, I regret spending my money and time at this place. Do yourself a favor and keep driving, there are many other places to eat a few minutes away at Gosman’s Dock!
UPDATE: To add insult to injury, a short while after I ate here, I suffered from a violent stomachache that lasted for an hour.

Informal and very «Montauk» in atmosphere. The menu is not gourmet but is satisfying. The fish tocos are excellent! The waitresses are friendly and competent. The libations are typical. There is a nice bar for before or after dinner.

Tragic is too nice. I’m mad at the other reviews. This place is on the harbour and serves frozen (or of not frozen awful) food. Do not bother eating here and the drinks were horrible. Id give a negative star rating if possible. Did I mention there is a fly strip in the bathroom? Classy. And there seems to be a lot of single older lonely men at the bar, so that could be a plus if that’s your thing.

Reasonably priced food that is very good! Try the Fish Tacos!!!
The drinks mixed, bottled, or on tap is at a great price! And they do not water down or mis-​mix drinks!
