Probably one of the worst meals I’ve ever had with matching service. First, we had to wait 20 minutes to be sat when most of the tables were empty. Armed with my soda heavy rum and coke, we waited another 15 minutes for our waitress to show up. Started off the casino clams per the recommendation of another patron. The clams were surprisingly large, but the rubbery bacon on top overpowered the taste of the clam with its salt. I ordered the lobster fra diovlo, noodles were cold and sauce tasted as if it came out of a can, no signature spicy taste to be found. It was a poorly constructed meal with even worse execution, and for nearly $ 30 it is not worth it. We also had to remind our waitress several times to supply us with utensils. Lenny is nice with tons of personality, but he needs to spend less time behind the bar making unbalanced drinks and more time paying attention to the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. In short, don’t go and take ur money to some other overpriced restaurant where you can at least have a decent meal.

Authentic throwback to a seafood restaurant on the harbor. The menu has been tweaked, with crab and lobster specials, but a good variety of broiled and fried fish, and other chicken, burger, and beef dishes for the non-fishies. Outside tables are separated from the boats at the dock bay 4 – 5 feet of dock. Lots of salty characters during the day off of the boats. And, there’s no shortage of tourists, but I had a great early dinner on a Sunday, with plenty of room and good attention from a helpful staff. Warning: this restaurant isn’t trendy; it just offers good value. I loved it.

We loved this restaurant. From it’s casual décor, great service and wonderful singer. The fried clams were delicious, the steamed lobster was great as was the swordfish. The chowder was also quite good. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. Overall a great experience.

AVOID! We went with a group of 10 to Lenny’s for lunch and boy were we sorry. The place wasn’t very busy and it took forever to get our food, but slow service is the least of the problems here. The food is mediocre to abysmal and incredibly overpriced. My coconut shrimp appetizer for $ 8.95 consisted of 4 shrimp(each of which were about 1″ in size) and tasted like something frozen you would get at the supermarket. For sauce they tossed in a packet of Chinese takeout restaurant duck sauce. My «yellowfin» tuna salad platter was straight out of a can… nothing fresh going on here. The outrage was that I paid $ 14.95 for 2 small scoops of coffee shop tuna salad. My son had the pizza that was flaccid and greasy and my daughter had spaghetti with sauce that tasted like canned tomato sauce with lots of added sugar. None of the food we ate was good, but at least we didn’t get sick. The only redeeming attribute of this place is that you can eat outside on the water, but with so many far superior places nearby including Gosmans and Inlet Seafood there is NO reason to waster your time and money here.

OVERPRICED for the venue. Sitting in plastic patio chairs at a plastic table was not my idea of a comfortable evening. It was freezing outside and the wind was blowing cold air through the windows where we were sitting. The service was HORRIBLE(i.e. very slow). I would explore other options before settling for this one.

Tragically mediocre. The crab cakes are from a mix and contain FAKE crab meat. The«scallops» that come with the entrees are the tiny bay kind(not mentioned in the menu). The calamari was tasteless and rubbery. The mashed potatoes are loaded w butter and the menu mentions that you should save room for their completely unimpressive desserts. The only good things are the sweet potato fries, the jalapeño poppers(standard frozen & mass-produced), and while the fish was fresh & local, one dish was overcooked and rubbery. The apps took forever to come out too. DON’T BOTHER!

Lobster bisque was as advertised far better than the rest of the food. The oil used in the fried food may have been past it’s shelf life or it’s cohesion factor too great. Gorden’s fried fish would be a better choice. The unplanned minstral show put on by a local was a bit offensive

The fried combo platter for a whopping $ 23 had only TWO(2) peices of shrimp. Are they serious? Small portions, high prices, service was slow and they never gave me my extra tartar sauce. Do yourself a favor and go to Gossman’s. In all fairness the food I did eat was not unpleasant.

We went here for lunch based on Unilocal reviews and thought it was only so-so. Lobster bisque was good, crab cakes weren’t. $ 23 fried seafood platter was average for oceanfront. We sat out by the dock, which wasn’t as charming as you might imagine. Seemed like the bar scene inside could be a lot of fun. Next time we’ll try gosman’s dock where window service would have saved us some dough.

I recently took my first trip out to Montauk. After seeing the lighthouse and deciding to try to spend the night, I said I wanted to eat somewhere«on» the water and have some seafood. Done and done. Lenny’s is very charming and just what I was looking for ambiance-wise. I mean, they serve drinks in plastic cups and soup in styrofoam bowls and it’s adorable, oddly. I had a delicious bloody mary(I unfortunately missed out on the one that comes with shrimp!) and my entrée of Swordfish was pretty good tho I preferred my boyfriend’s lobster fra diavolo. Mmmm fra diavolo. But the BEST part of the night, the thing that I dream and cannot get out of my head is the… lobster bisque. HOOBOY was that good. I’ve never been aware of actual chunks of lobster in lobster bisque before but boy was I ever in this. Maybe I’ve just never had really good lobster bisque before but this was HUGE chunks of really fresh lobster and the bisque was so creamy and delicious… mmm…I’m getting side-tracked thinking about it. There aren’t enough words to describe it. Please, if you are in Montauk give this place a chance. They were so welcoming and friendly and that lobster bisque was… amazing. I’m going to go dream about it more now.

hubby and i went for lunch on a saturday and although there were enough patrons there to not make you wonder why it’s «empty» it was the perfect amount to where you don’t feel overcrowded. we sat outside on the dock and were literally feet away from the water, just a rope away. very peaceful and serene. our server was super fast, super friendly, and very helpful. pina coladas are good. we both got the open face steak sandwich on garlic bread, which was excellent! sweet potato fries are delicious and the onion rings are KILLER. great lunch spot.

We went there at 3 in the afternoon — during the week — on a super rainy day. The oysters were very fresh. The bloody mary with shrimp is one of the best that I’ve ever had [although the 2 large shrimps that it came with weren’t seasoned for some reason]. They let us sample the soups: New England clam chowder — Over seasoned with spices Manhattan clam chowder — Great Lobster Bisque [special of the day] — Very creamy/buttery. It was good, but I can’t imagine having an entire bowl. The service is great and the staff is super nice.

Lenny’s on the Dock came as a recommendation from Mario at the Crow’s Nest(no lunch hours at the Crow’s Nest, or at least not that day) — «tell’em Mario sent ya» — I’m glad we listened to Mario. Lenny’s is great spot to enjoy amazingly fresh seafood while overlooking the Montauk fishing fleet. Sitting at the bar expect to find those same fisherman on either side of you downing oysters and beers. Lenny adds quite the character to the establishment and seemingly knows everyone or at least treats them that way. Service and food were both on point and as colorful as the establishment. The décor meets ones expectation of a harbor side raw bar without coming off dirty or run-down; fishing pictures, mounted sharks and other nautical items adorn the walls. A very casual establishment; lunch was served with plastic utensils and cups — a great place to kick back and enjoy seafood and cold beers without needing a collared shirt. Although closed due to weather when we were threre, they have a large outside seating/bar area adjacent to the docks. The coconut shrimp and clams casino were both outstanding and clearly fresh; the shrimp scampi and seared rare yellowfin sandwich followed suit. The menu covers all of the bases that a raw bar/seafood establishment should with some great looking combo platters if you have a crowd. The prices on Lenny’s website were out of date(as of 5⁄2009) but still great value considering the freshness of the seafood.

Good Martinis here in Montauk. at Lennys. This is one of their areas of expertise. This paired with fresh seafood is a treat! Ask for a recommendation from the bartender. hopefully Lenny will be there off season. and will make you a perfect martini.

So the décor is a little yacht-clubby. But you can go right up to the docks when the fishing boats return and see the good stuff they caught and get full of dock muck if you start feeling too uppity. Plus, the outdoor-seating is plastic chairs and tables with paper napkins hanging out in the center of the table for everyone to reach for. I had the striped sea bass from the specials list. It was prepared exactly perfectly and it was melt-in-your-mouth warm delicious goodness. They plated the fish right on top of the mashed potatoes with steamed vegetables tossed on the side, no muss no fuss; the fish spoke for itself and the flavors of the fish and potatoes melded sublimely together. I tasted two of the salmon dishes and noticed that, with every dish here, it doesn’t really matter what the menu says they’re sticking on it. Everything will always subtly compliment and enhance the fish and all you’ll taste is good, clean fish flavor. Our waitress was an excellent sounding board. She complimented us when we were choosing things she really likes, gave us recommendations when some of us were unsure what to eat and warned us against the clam chowder(which turned out to be runny and too lemony, but the person who ordered it liked it that way). I’d stick to simple white wine, iced tea, or soda. You don’t want anything overwhelming your food experience here.

Not listed in the Montauk visitor’s guide we stumbled across this place while wandering around the docks. Actually, Mike, one of the owners, saw us passing by and like a good fisherman reeled us in. Boy were we glad he did. Lenny’s is located right on the dock with a great view of the harbour. The atmosphere was very casual and welcoming to both locals and tourists. The large shark head on the wall was amazing as were the photos of the catch. Mike told us it was the shark that they used to model Jaws. He also told us a few embarrassing stories about Lenny’s wife, which were hilarious. Bonus points for the free entertainment:) Though we had just eaten lunch, which was unfortunate cause the menu looked fantastic and very reasonably priced, we ordered a few rounds of oysters. At $ 7.95 for 6 we couldn’t resist and they were really fresh and delicious. On the house we received samplings of the lobster bisque, which was creamy and loaded with lobster and cole slaw, which was also really yummy. I can’t wait to go back to this place the next time were are in Montauk for a full meal. I love Lenny’s.
