Excellent views. Seriously… Oceanside is an understatement The food was reasonably priced and done well. The service was very good and the bar had a great selection of alcohol to choose from. If your in Monterey, this is a not so hidden gem to try

Went to La La’s for lunch with some girlfriends. The outside is cute. When you walk in you pas the bar on the right side and walk down to the tables. Some regular tables some are big white booths that look out onto the ocean. It’s so beautiful inside. A much improvement from what was there before. We had the pepperoni pizza. Which was crisp and cooked ton perfection. The carne tacos. They were amazing. And came with a side of black beans. I can’t wait to have it again. Also one of the best calamaris I’ve ever had!!! I wanted to order more! Such great drinks. We ordered a fish bowl and shared it. Plant for 3 people. We had such a good time it is now definitely on our list off places to go!!!

This place is a disaster!!! First of all, we were just a table of 4 the other couple asked for the bill to be split upon arrival. Easy, I know. Food was not the greatest. Plates were either to small or to big for the meal ordered. I’m assuming back of the house was light staffed? My issue was with the bill, brought bill, my card had pretty much the whole bill on it, not a big deal other party said to change the bill. Waiter did, this time brought back only $ 25, on a $ 250, not sure what happened there. Again, bill was sent back. This took so long we got up, as we were the last patrons in the restaurant. Walked over to where they«were trying to figure out the bill,» told them we needed to leave this was taking to long, gave the waiter $ 60 extra in cash for a tip, after i already tipped on the first 2 transactions. No get this, I tell them DONOT run my card again, well THEYDID! Unauthorized, not acceptable! My card posted 4 transactions, I only signed and authorized 2! I called and spoke with the«manager,» who merely said they only overcharged me $ 17, again, no receipts were given to me. He texted me pictures of the receipts, last one was not signed and get this the last transaction was ran 35 minutes after we left the restaurant. The transaction which posted to my card with no signature!!! No receipt for $ 17 which I was never aware of until he told me over the phone! I am beyond disgusted with Lalla, and their staff. What you did should be reported to the better business bureau!!! You should be ashamed of yourself, I highly suggest if you go here to pay in cash and always check your bill, or better yet go somewhere else with a competent staff!

Only good with a table by the window for the views on a clear day. The food was mediocre in a sense that I could make the same but better food at home at half the cost. In fact, my food, which was a lobster roll with a cup of clam chower came out with a short curly hair in the chowder!!! My hair is long and straight. I was beyond grossed out, but the server took my plate immediately and replaced it with a new one. By the time my meal came back, my appetite was gone. I picked at my sandwich, which was more a like minced lobster roll, overly dressed and salty, watery cup of clam chowder. Our waitress was good and friendly but I don’t think I’d be coming back any time soon…

Unfortunately we’ve witnessed a steady decline in the quality of food preparation and presentation since we started coming here when they first opened. This evening we brought attention to the manager: * There was a chard of glass in our wine * The children’s steak was a different cut than usual making it impossible to cook to temp * The oysters were served improperly shucked and served in a puddle of dirty water We politely… even warmly, explained how bummed we were to the manager. He didn’t have much to say. Our only compensation was a nod, a thank you and excuses… but no results. We’re sad to say that we will NOT be back.

Came here with what was left of our gift cards from Costco after first going to the Alvarado location(which is fabulous by the way!). We came for lunch and were easily seated quickly. The place is decorated well, clean and welcoming with excellent views! Our server was fabulous. We ordered the lobster nachos and then two sandwiches. The nachos were good, pretty big helping! Frankly I could have done with the chicken and they would probably have been just as good, but we were on the water so went with the lobster. I ordered the italian sandwich(which was cold) and we also got the chicken sandwich with avocado which was hot. We got regular fries and the spicy ones. We really ordered way too much food and ended up taking the entire italian sandwich home and just splitting the chicken one and eating the fries. Everything was tasty. Their bathrooms are downstairs… also quite clean, but if you have mobility issues that may be a problem(they may have a solution, not sure). My only complaint would be that the sandwiches came out almost immediately after the nachos which meant something got cold or not eaten… there should have been more of a break in between orders. There wasn’t a line and no on waiting so it wasn’t like they needed to hurry us out. I would recommend this place and return, convenient location, great views, great food… tons of drinks! No locals discount like some places, but if you are a Costco member and plan ahead you can get 2 $ 50 gift cards for $ 80 saving you 20% right off the top.

Description: My husband and I happened onto Lalla’s as we were walking around Cannery Row. The outside awning and mod décor caught our eye. Upon entering you realize that this restaurant has amazing unobstructed views of the ocean. We were there for lunch and requested a table next to a window. The food proved to be as good as the views! Location: It is located on Cannery Row just a couple hundred feet away from the Aquarium. It is between the Aquarium and the Intercontinental Hotel on the bay side of the street. Décor: The décor is whimsical and modern. The interior designer did a wonderful job of creating a hip atmosphere while honoring the location and the views. Menu: The menu was well designed with seafood options as well as typical American fare. We ordered the wedge salad w/eggs, bacon, and tomato and it was very good. We also ordered some sparkling wine(they had good selections). It was all very tasty. Service: The service could be improved slightly. Although everyone was quite friendly, we did feel a bit neglected and noticed that our waitress was visiting a lot with other staff. We had to get up a couple of times to ask for water refills and inquire about our order. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The patrons were dressed from business to casual. The background music and the ambiance are truly nice. Restrooms: The restrooms were strangely located. To access the restroom, you need to go down the stairs. It is a bit odd, but they were maintained and clean. Final Thoughts: The overall experience was positive! I would suggest coming during lunch or at sunset to maximize the views. Tip: Try to arrive early and request a table next to the window. If you need to wait, there is a nice bar at the front of the restaurant. The view and the atmosphere alone are worth waiting for. With a little improvement on service, this place could be fantastic!

What an amazing place! 1. Location is unbelievable Hardly there’s another restaurant with a view of the beach and the ocean similar to this one. This place is absolutely ideal for any occasion. The table layout is very thoughtful and you will have a view practically at every table. It was a nice touch to listen to some jazz and Louis Armstrong,(tip: a bit of Bosa Nova would be perfect too). So why not 5 stars? 1. Food is a alright, our sandwiches were waaaay to greasy 2. The menus were exceptionally repelling, having dark stains of fingertips and grease on them(i am attaching a picture to show that) Tip for a manager — change to laminated menus and WIPE them off in between customers Btw, great service !!! Our waitress was very courteous and don’t come around 10 times during your meal to ask if everything is «ok» Overall: Great experience…(but the MENUS!)

Love the atmosphere! Very open and modern feel and the bay can be seen from all tables in the restaurant. Service was also great! Kind of pricey but that’s to be expected on Cannery Row, and it’s alright because the food is high quality. I had the muffuletta sandwich and it was much better than expected! The bread was so soft and fresh(house made) and the meat and olive combo had the perfect amount of wonderful tart/saltiness. As always the firecracker fries had just the right amount of heat and flavor with garlic and herbs!

Location location location! The LALLA is a great place by the ocean. I had the wedge with bacon, tomato & egg + blackened chicken(which was grilled not blackened) The Moscow mule was tasty in a larger than normal copper mug & the BF had the Zombie which was served in a neat tiki type tall glass &POWERFUL. He had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Only complaint: I asked for my dressing on the side, it was heavily applied & I think I saw 4 pieces of crumbled bacon & two thinly sliced pieces of tomato. We ate at a sister restaurant the Lalapolluza which is equally hip in dwntwn Monterey on Monday.

I wish I knew about this place sooner! You can find it among all the restaurants and shops in cannery row. I’ve been wanting to try a new place to eat at Monterey and I’m so glad I found this one. Try to get a table by the window. I love how one side of the restaurant is this glass with no curtains or walls, just the view of the ocean with a little beach below and neighboring restaurants. If your a sucker for ocean views like I am, go here! We ordered lobster nachos and OMG it is delicious. All the ingredients work so well together. It can definitely feed up to 4 people. I have to say that my significant other and I are guilty of devouring the whole thing. I still drool a little when I think about the appetizer! Sometimes when you eat nachos, you can feel gross after. These nachos didn’t make me feel that way at all. We also has the seafood nachos that had chorizo, calamari, and shrimp. I was hoping there would be a little more seafood in the tacos. I felt as if there was too much chorizo and that’s mostly what I could taste. The tacos were still good. Overall my experience here was satisfying and will be a regular stop when I come to Monterey. Lobster nachos, I will be back for you !!!

First time eating here a couple weeks ago. My party arrived before I did. They ordered the lobster nachos, I’m still a fan of the original nachos at Lallapalooza. You cannot beat the mojo ranchero sauce. The view was amazing, we made reservations and got a table right next to the window. The fried calamari was great. I ended up getting a kobe burger, which was very reasonably priced. My fiancée got the pizza, which was amazing! Crust was perfect and the size was good. I could not get over the crust– crisp. The seafood pasta was huge and filled with lots of seafood. The drinks were very strong. It took 3 of us to finish the large fish bowl. I felt like I could breathe fire if I wanted to. Everything was pretty reasonable. The menu felt a little stunted. Hard to explain but I guess I was expecting a little more. But maybe if it is a menu that changes every couple months, then it will not be so bad. Fingers crossed. Service was on the so-so side. They were not very busy and there were staff members everywhere. I know that this place is on the newer side. Hopefully they will find a flow like their sister restaurant. I have eaten at all of the sister restaurants, each has their own uniqueness.

Came for lunch today and was seated right away. First impression of the restaurant was that it was nice and spacious. They had a bar area upon walking in and further in was the nice part with a beautiful view of the water. Our waiter was«Dominick». He was alright. I think it was his first day or something because he wasn’t giving us good customer service. He asked if we wanted anything to drink, but he didn’t ask if we wanted any appetizers. After he served our drinks, spilled our water on the table and didn’t bother to clean it up. he left and didn’t bother coming back. Waited for a good 10 mins and still no show. FINALLY I think the manager approached us and took our order. I got the Alfredo blackened chicken and my BF got the lobster nachos. I’m gonna admit the food was pretty decent. But the service wasn’t the best. Our waiter did not check on us, and rather kept walking by us and making sure everyone else was ok. Not cool dude.

The owners of the«Lalla» restaurants in Monterey really have a good thing going with their group of three places here(there is one more in Salinas I haven’t tried yet). After a fantastic night at Lallapalooza the night before we decided to try out Lalla’s Oceanside grill the next night. I was very pleased to see a menu different enough we had a completely different meals. For a starter we had the Lobster Nachos. These were HUGE more than enough for two people. I think when the plate came out we were kind of wishing we hadn’t ordered full meals afterwards as well but holy cow were these good. They had everything you could want from nachos and the chunks of lobster were plentiful and large. I will definitely be ordering this again when we come back. My date ordered the tuna melt which didn’t even get touched because of everything else but surprisingly re-heated really well the next day for lunch so we’re not complaining. We also had the squid and calamari, both of us decided we prefer squid over calamari not because of anything the restaurant did, just because we prefer the texture of squid and hadn’t realized it until we had a side by side comparison. The crabcakes were perfect and the addition of mango salsa was a sweet way to cut through the creamy richness of the crab cake itself. I also had two blue point oysters which were ice cold, fresh, perfectly prepared(already separated from the shell so they just slid off) and come with everything you could want to top them. Their cocktails were excellent, just as we have come to expect from the Lalla Grill at the DMC and Lallapalooza on Alverado. My date had a bloody mary he really enjoyed, he’s also the only person I know that orders a blood mary no matter the time of day. I had the pear martini that was sweet but not too sweet and the perfect amount of alcohol, so two with dinner had me relaxed and smiling. This experience has made me a huge fan of the Group that owns these restaurants and I would hands down try any place they open from now on knowing they have high, reliable standards of food, service and atmosphere. A great addition to Cannery Row, especially since they are local family owned.

3.5 stars. As a long-time fan of all Lalla’s establishments, I was excited to try this place. There was nothing bad about this place. To the contrary, it was much like it’s cheaper elder sister, the Lalla Grill, which I love and constantly go to. That was the problem, however. I know that this place has many new dishes, and my sister and I shared the Lobster Nachos(4 well-earned lobster-packed stars). If I were a tourist, I’d give this place 4 stars, but I am a local and I know better. I could go to the Lalla Grill and get comparable, if not identical, offerings in food and drink for less. I may come back for some of the seafood offerings and to look out of the floor to ceiling ocean view windows if invited, but if it were up to me, I’d nominate cheaper and more accessible Lalla Grill any day.

This was a last min walk in at an odd hour for Dinner. The view is great and I assume that’s their selling point as the food was very mediocre. The setup though open somehow screams a chain restaurant IMO. I ordered a steak with shrimps and DC ordered a pasta dish. Steak is so so and didn’t wow. Shrimps are nondescript generic and devoid of any seasoning. The pasta apparently fared better. Service was OK. Hmm would I come here again probably not I would just try and go to a place that offers better food at this price point.

I came here for a dinner date with my husband a few weeks back. The place looked great, I had been anticipating this experience and I was not disappointed. My husband and I were seated right away and we were seating in a booth that overlooked the ocean(even though it was night time, it was awesome to be sat there to see the lights from across the way) and our server greeted us quickly. The place was packed, but it didn’t take long for our food to arrive and we didn’t feel rushed to leave. The server gave us some friendly trivia and was so sweet. I had the calamari and it was amazing and I don’t remember what my husband had … I believe it was a soup. Anyway, even though none of the other restaurants owned by Ottone will ever compare to Lallapalooza, Oceanside was pleasant and a great place to eat!

I went in with a big group on Sunday night and it was awesome how quick they seated us even with a full house. We split a bunch of different appetizers and they were all amazing. The waitress was amazing how fast and friendly she was(I think her name was Courtney) we split a bunch of orders and she brought them out on different plates. The little bar downstairs was super cool.

We came here for lunch during a weekday visit to Monterey. It’s on touristy Cannery Row, so expect touristy prices, but we had an enjoyable time. The back wall is essentially a huge window overlooking the water, and we had a nice table that allowed everyone to have a water view. We shared the calamari as an appetizer, which was very good. The calamari pieces were bigger and thicker than those served in a typical calamari appetizer. I had the seafood fettuccine as my entrée. The pasta was delicious and clearly handmade. The other components of the dish, while good, were also somewhat forgettable. I’m sure there are restaurants with better food in the area, but Lalla is a good stop if you are looking for something scenic and convenient while visiting Cannery Row/the aquarium.

Clam Chowder in a bowl was everything I hoped for and even better! Love love me so yummy clam chowder. They have two seating areas upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs is seat yourself which was great and it felt as if it was more of an intimate setting. Love the ambiance . They had a gentlemen walking around giving maker mark shots to help market there brand which was pretty fun! Made the night that much better. Fish and chips were also tasteful. Definitely a bit on the pricey side but worth every penny from start to finish.

Incredible View and Devore is modern & unique, but that’s about it my Calamari was a beautiful thick steak cut but the cap of the red pepper flakes must have fell off & poured all over the calamari could Not taste the lemon & parsley as dis robed in the menu & I’m left with a runny nose. The Quinoa bowl interest was a bowl of arugula with a sprinkle of quinoa? The beet salad was a mixed green with 4 slices of a beet &3 of a pear a pinch of candied pecans & goat cheese literally a pinch.

Came here on a Saturday night with friends. We got lucky and found a table at the bar right away for four. The ambience was pretty nice and the food was reasonably priced considering it was in the heart of tourist trap Cannery Row. The main reason for my unfavorable review was that the service was very, very slow; the staff seemed disorganized, and likely as a result: my food was cold. I ordered the seafood chowder which looked quite good, but was barely above room temperature which is kind of gross for chowder. I honestly think they forgot about our table because I saw my bowl, and my friend’s lobster roll sitting under the heat lamp for quite some time. Everything we got we had to flag someone down and ask for: refills on our water, silverware and napkins(which we didn’t get until our meals arrived and only after we asked for them), and the bread that was supposed to come with my chowder. The restaurant didn’t seem understaffed by any means, and the staff seemed to be moving with a purpose, so I’m not sure what the cause was for the apparent disorganization and inattentive service. We may have just came on a bad night or maybe we would have had better luck/service seated in the dining area rather than the bar area, but all in all, this was an extremely disappointing and unsatisfying dining experience.

We waited over 30 minutes for a table when there are clearly many available tables inside when we were seated. That was a pretty horrible start. Then it was another while before our order was taken. Finally, we ordered and waited an extremely long time for one of the dishes to come. At that time we were told the other dish was brought to the wrong table, and they needed to remake it. So, am I supposed to wait for my dish to go cold while we wait for the other dish? Monterey food is not good in general, but the premium prices here coupled with horrible service warrants a one star.

Three stars for the food. One more star for the setup. What a great view. Killer high-calorie lobster nachos. Friendly service, and very comfy, kid-friendly atmosphere. It’s a new spot, and it’s smack dab in the middle of tourist trap heaven, but it doesn’t feel like it, and doesn’t taste like it. Service needs a little practice, but overall, we love coming here, and I highly recommend it.

We were super hungry and decided to enter Lalla’s simply because it was the closest thing to us. The inside is contemporary and modern, not totally working for my tastes, but that really doesn’t matter as long as my taste buds are satisfied. Grab a seat by the window and you’ll be looking right at the water. We even saw otters swimming about while we dined. We ordered the lobster nachos, which was a huge portion! This was a tasty appetizer, but definitely need to take some home if you’re splitting between two people. For my entrée I ordered the seafood chowder, and while the chowder base was rich and tasty, the seafood inside was chewy and a bit of a disappointment.

Popped in for a late lunch. Crowds were smaller but all the tables at the window were full. Still, as soon as one opened up, they moved us so we could take in the great ocean view(with soaring windows, it’s a pretty nice view from all the tables anyway). We ordered the fish tacos and the tuna melt. Lots of food and tasted great. The firecracker fries were ridiculously good. And we both had a cup of clam chowder — also excellent. Couldn’t finish all the food. Bill for 2 was $ 40, including the chowder app.

What a great place to chill and eat and drink. Lots of white. Focus is on the water. We had the lobster nachos. OMG portion size humongous. The best part is that they carefully arrange the chips evenly and carefully add the toppings. So every bite has a little of everything. Lots of lobsta, Sour cream, tomatoes cheese rice, a ton of jalapeño peppers. Roasted corn. Much better than those other places that just put s pile of chips and dump the ingredients on top in mounds. Service is attentive. Definitely a place to return to. The views are a killer.

Came here for an Anniversary dinner not busy at all walked in and was seated right away. Our waiter was very friendly mentioned the sister restaurants to this one. We were seated my by the window with an amazing view of the beach. We stayed at the Monterey Plaza Hotel so the walk was less than 10 minutes. Not sure where we would have parked. We called in to ask if we could bring our own wine the lady on the phone said its $ 15 for a corkage fee. When we received our bill $ 18 was on the bill our waiter was kind enough to remove the $ 3 dollars extra charge since we were told otherwise. Now on to the food we started out with the crab cake melt in your mouth served over rice with diced mangos. Entrees the salmon with purple potatoes simply delicious. The salmon was seared on the out side yet juicy in the inside. We also had the afredo halibut and shrimp creamy sauce the shrimp cooked perfectly and huge not to mention the halibut on the other hand was not as juicy as the salmon but I think that’s just the type of fish. Restroom located down stairs where there is another bar/lounge area looked nice with high tables and a dim light. I would definitely come back here for a special occasion they have big white booths for more seating if you don’t want to sit at the table by the window. Thank you for an amazing Anniversary dinner!

We’ve been to the other two Lalla’s, and being of the opinion that they are some of the better options in the Monterey area, we were excited when the new one opened on Cannery Row. The location is awesome and convenient, and the views of the bay are spectacular. Parking isn’t perfect but there are meter spots on the row, though in the summer that might get busy. It’s a bit of a mix between the casual menu from Del Monte and the more mature menu from downtown. I’ve eaten here twice and was satisfied both times with my meal. The salads are great, try one! As with anywhere in the area, the price can cause a frown, but that’s the way it works in Monterey. The bar is nice, super modern looking, with a good, not great tequila section. There’s only two TVs though so don’t plan on catching the game here.

My husband and I were so impressed with this new Lalla location! The ocean views will be awesome when the weather clears up again and when daylight lasts longer. Our server was Spencer and he was very attentive and on top of everything. Our water glasses were always filled when needed and our drinks and food were very tasty. My husband ordered the Mexican burger slider with double meat patties and I ordered the smoked salmon BLT. So yummy! Lots of new seafood dishes and Italian/pasta entrees to choose from. This location also has some of the original drink/food choices the other Lalla restaurants feature. Perfect for girl’s nights, date nights or a fun celebration!

Came here for a friends birthday party. We had a huge party of about 15 people so I understand it can be difficult for one server to handle, but our server was pretty great. It took a little bit of time at first for her to come over and take drink orders but once the drinks came everything else ran smoothly. I had a calamari appetizer that was quite good. I also had a slider with a side of onion rings. Unfortunately my meal was lukewarm. I’m guessing because of the large party and it may have been difficult to bring everything out at once, but still no one likes lukewarm food. I was so hungry I didn’t bother complaining. The onion rings also were a little soggy /greasy. Overall service was good and food was good… not great, but ok. Next time I’ll try something else and perhaps go with less people.

The view is superb, over the water and looking across the bay with a central view of Moss Landing. To get the most out of the view, I would recommend this as a lunch destination. If you are familiar with this series of restaurants, the food is pretty good, more aligned with their grill location at the Del Monte Center than their more upscale location on Alvarado St. The service was very fast and prompt, almost to the point where we felt rushed. But, its a good thing if you are doing the tourist or staycation thing and you don’t want a lunch with a view to cost you a huge wait. The food is pretty good, although I wouldn’t go with the fries, they came out a little soggy. I think most places are 3 – 4 star… awesome places are 5 star on Unilocal. What keeps me from giving them the last star is that we had a stroller and asked if we could park it in their outdoor patio which is fenced in from Cannery Row — it was drizzly out and no one was sitting out there. They firmly declined and we were asked to leave the stroller on the sidewalk outside. I put a tip down below about bringing a cable lock for strollers and things. Anyways, it just seemed like an easy thing for them to let us do and it started the whole meal with an awkward offload of bags and stuff in the off-chance someone wanted to boost our stroller.

This placed opened about a week ago. Staff was very friendly and the service was excellent with Sean as our server. The view is incredible. It has large windows overlooking the ocean and beach. The menu is a slight variant on the other Lalla restaurnants in the city. Food and drink prices were slightly higher then the other locations but we are in a tourist high rent area. We tried the crab cakes, 13.99. They had good flavor but we thought there should have been more for the price. Had the steak wrapped in bacon stuffed with blue cheese which were excellent. Had the margarita flatbread. It had a great crust along with great flavors.
