Turn 12

Turn 12 is your average college bar. You walk in and get the vibe of college kids looking to drink and hangout. The food and drinks were good. However, the service could have been better. if you’re just looking to have drinks then this is the spot to visit, if you’re looking to have a sit down dinner with drinks, this is not a great place to visit.

We ate here last August (’15) when we were in Monterey for the big car weekend. Great burgers, but we’ve not had any other items on their menu, tho’ they look enticing. Always excellent, friendly service. The automobile and motorcycle racing motif is just excellent. I guess the name, «Turn 12», is analogous to the «19^th hole» since the nearby and greatly heralded Laguna Seca Raceway has only 11 turns. Centrally located in downtown Monterey.

Good drinks and selection of bar food. Great kick it spot for «after drinking reflections.»

The food & drinks here are perfect! I’ve tried the ahi tuna stack, which is a layered tower of deliciousness. Includes avocado, mango, and ahi tuna (which are all fresh in appearance and taste.)
I’ve also tried two of their salads (though I can’t remember the names) both of them were hearty and tasted great.
The only peeve that I have is that the wait times, both for pickup and dining in seem a little longer than they probably should be. The food, however, does make up for this flaw. Its worth it.

Bottomless mimosa’s were worth the $ 10, the food is mediocre, not horrible, but not AMAZING. The Cesar salad was great for the price! Cool atmosphere!

By far one of the less pretentious bars in downtown Monterey. Great service and good variety in menu. We are locals and have had great food here every time. BIG bar area and plenty of seating.

Came in with a 7 top and was seated right away. I ordered the Honey Truffle Chicken with mashed potatoes and daily vegetables. Chicken was ok, mashed potatoes and veggies were very yummy. The daily veggies: carrots, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli.
Milshake was super yummy.

Late night menu which said from 10pm to midnight was given to me at 9pm. So the food that I read about which I was looking forward to trying didn’t quite happen. Goat cheese salad was awesome at least, and the bartender was cool.

Food is still really good, but the service is inconsistent. Why would a bartender who is not all that busy (he had plenty of time to watch sports) make customers at the high tops shout their orders to him, rather than coming over to the tables? Didn’t seem very classy. Sign of laziness or bad policy.

This place won’t let you down!!! The food is amazing. My sandwich is packed with meat & is fresh. The sweet potato fry’s are crispy & light & the fry sauce is delicious! Get in here!

Very chic décor, foods are very good with reasonable prices and server is pretty attentive, will come again.

recently dined here while staying in Monterey for a wedding. The overall experience was great with one small exception– my ahi tuna was not very fresh. But I guess I was going on the ledge for ordering fish at such a place not known for it? All of our other dishes were pretty tasty.

I went in with a group of friends and had to find our own table. Service was slow and the bartenders were rude. We had ordered another round of drinks which were never served to us. When we were tired of waiting and asked for the bill the drinks we never received were still on the bill and they would not remove them. Save yourself the hassle of this unwelcoming racket.

I really don’t like writing such low reviews but the «Meh» described at the 2 level has never been so appropriate.
The food is your garden variety chain restaurant quality. Nothing is made from scratch that I could tell and is your typical pre-​made/​frozen/​reheated cuisine. When we saw the size of the menu we were instantly skeptical but tried to stay optimistic. I really love having good restaurants in town and hoped Turn 12 would join the growing list but unfortunately we will not be returning.
Turn 12 feels like some one who kind of keeps up with the trends but doesn’t understand what people are really looking for (eg, quality over quantity). We had the Mac n Cheese, Truffle Fries, and the Braised Short Ribs. Again, nothing felt fresh, delicious or thought out.
It’s a cool space and would honestly benefit from a much smaller menu with food made from scratch and possibly an emphasis on beer selection
In short, «Meh, I’ve had better» is definitely applicable.

Very nice place for dinner and/​or drinks, but the prices run high and the noise level (more so in the large dining room than the bar) can be unpleasant. There are outside tables, with heaters for chilly evenings, but we haven’t tried that seating option and I can’t say if the heaters do an adequate job. If you’re okay with eating at the bar (with a vintage Ducati and other bikes overhead and various sports to watch on multiple televisions), do that. The bartenders seem to enjoy their work and are good company.
Few options for vegetarians, mainly salads and a couple of appetizers.
Here’s wishing Turn 12 a long run at what has been a tough location for restaurants in recent years.

For the car enthusiast who needs to sell your salad-​loving partner on a place to eat that will also serve you a decent burger. Highly recommend their goat cheese salad and burgers. They make a great Moscow mule and the décor is very tasteful. They are kid friendly, at least in our experience and we see this optimally as a great lunch spot, but maybe a little expensive to consider for dinner given the value.

My friends, fiancé and I came here on Halloween night and our experience was great. Seating was plentiful, the atmosphere was lively and the service was punctual. We ended up getting a couple of rounds of drinks and dinner as we watched a few games going on that evening.
I ordered the Turn 12 chicken sandwich, and I was extremely pleased with the food. The portion size was great and everything tasted on point. My friends and fiancé seemed to really enjoy their dishes, too.
Prices were modest as well.
We’ll most likely be back!

Great ambiance with the vintage motorbikes and racing wheels in their entrance and the bar is incredible. However, the STAFF are what make it better than any place I have been to.
We had a party of six and wanted to get the fire pit (only one in the place) and we had to move around until the other group at the fire pit left and the waitress put up with our musical chairs routine.
The waitress remembered ALL our orders (with appetizers and every order had a different alteration) and the food came out promptly, the alredo was amazing with brocolli (a substitute for bacon) and the vegetarian dishes were fantastic and the lobster chowder without bacon was also incredible– I had the chicken honey and it was AMAZING, I could barely keep the joyful tears coming out of my happy and content soul.
The food seriously came out quicker than a two shakes of a chicken butt. I was impressed, then the waitress even recognized she forgot to bring out a dish and she was gracious enough to comp it without us asking? Amazing– AMAZING service. Never in my life have I had this great service at a restaurant.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. I will be back next time I am in Monterey, I am so happy I came by. The ambiance suggests bar food but the food is 5-​star luxury food without the price.
Can’t wait to come back to this wonderful establishment.

Is it a sports bar or a serious restaurant? Can it be both?
As others have said, the size of this place is deceiving from the outside. Tons of room inside with a cool decorating vibe paying homage to Laguna Seca just down the road.
I found the beer selection a bit lacking but the menu made up for it.

We basically took over this place from the pharmacy convention going on. It seems like everyone from the convention came here and we took over one of their sections.
We ordered a bunch of food and the pizzas were pretty good.
FOOD:
* BREAKFAST PIZZA: The egg was what made it AMAZING. I could eat that by myself and because of this pizza… I’ve been putting eggs on my pizza. YES.
* White Pizza — just white sauce. It was delicious. I normally don’t like tomato sauce on pizza… white sauce is AMAZING. So I got it and it was good.

Pretty good but they did not expect us to be there. So it was slow but I don’t blame them. It’s was a weekday and we had a HUGE group.
DRINKS:
They had my Moscow Mule IN THE COPPER CUP. Just the way it is supposed to be. Excellent.

Great sports bar!
