I tried two different phở places in Montgomery, VN Phở and this place and I’d have to say that this place is much better. The phở broth tasted much more authentic and the portion size was reasonable. We tried the rice noodle stir fry, phở and the lemon grass chicken stir fry. The phở was a 4 star and the other two were solid 3 star dishes; nothing phenomenal. The restaurant was big, clean and very efficient(like most phở places). I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in Montgomery and looking for good phở.

I eat here almost every week. I’m continually blown away with how good their phở is, here in Montgomery Alabama! Service is always great. Prices are reasonable. I need to try other things on the menu, buy the phở is so good!

We were on the road and in town just for the night. It was late and this place was the first thing we drove by that wasn’t fast food. We lucked out. The place was great We arrived just before their closing time, yet they still welcomed us warmly and sat us promptly. Never did we feel rushed, even though we were definitely their last customers of the day I had pad Thai and my wife shrimp fried rice. We had spring rolls for an appetizer. All was great. The restaurant and the bath rooms were all very clean. The prices reasonable and the service great.

I’ve eaten here several times over the last few years and have always enjoyed my experience. There are a lot of menu choices with pictures to help you comprehend what is what. The service can be slow, even when it’s not busy, but it is always friendly. All of the phở I’ve had has been consistently good. I’m a big fan of the spring rolls and the Saigon beer. If I’m craving Vietnamese food this is my place to go in the Gump.

Having never tried Vietnamese cuisine before, this was the place to try it! The restaurant was impeccably clean and the staff attentive. We ordered the egg rolls(4 to an order). While they are different from what you may expect from a Chinese restaurant(more like spring rolls –small and tightly rolled) they were delicious! So crispy yet tender. They come with a dipping sauce that was also delicious but the rolls didn’t require a sauce at all. While I failed to remember what the names of the two entrees that were ordered I do remember the corresponding numbers-M6 and B6. The M6 was shrimp, chicken and vegetables served in a lite sauce on a bed of crispy noodles. The B6 was the beef noodle bowl– spicy with cilantro, jalapeño and lime with fresh bean sprouts. Solely because of this experience we are eager and willing to try more Vietnamese food.

Fantastic Vietnamese food! The place is besides Drury Inn. The area is a little run down which is a shame because the food is fantastic! We got the Chicken Phở and the Ginger Tofu. Excellent! The egg rolls were great! But they are really small! Don’t miss out on this little gem! If we lived in Montgomery we would be regulars here!

Always get seated immediately and service is very fast and friendly. Best Phở around and great prices as well. Can’t think a single negative thing to say about this place other than it is very addictive… it’s that good!

Don’t really like the taste. Chicken and seafood smells quite a bit. Don’t order the ferried rice. Just don’t dine here.

Stopped in on Christmas Eve after a long day of driving. Fantastic House Phở and stewed beef rice noodle soup. It was exactly what we wanted. The server was extremely warm and inviting.

Good food as always but this wait staff always got me down. Have to flag anyone down to get service and they all just vanish from the dining area for long periods of time. They are all so akward too. Food is a 10⁄10 super good but the staff is a 1⁄10. 2.5 stars if possible.

I love the food, but the service is very, VERY slow. It’s the only reason I won’t give them 5 stars.

Service was fine 10% military discount Pay at the bar when finished They charge for onions when at phở places, onions are standard that come with the bean sprouts, lime, and cilantro leaves. The beef phở I had was good and there was a lot of variety on the menu. I would go again if I was craving phở.

Keeping up the challenge of finding affordable places to eat other than fast food or fried something-or-other on our road trip can sometimes be a challenge. We tried to look for small, independent, local eateries, and while passing through Montgomery, Saigon Bistro seemed a good choice. We made a quick stop to pick up some takeout to eat later on back at our hotel. Two orders of the grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli bowls. Loved that it was not greasy, the pickled carrots were yummy and the overall taste of the dish was good. Did not love the small portion sizes(tiny egg roll, few pieces of weirdly red colored pork, tiny helping of noodles) and almost-brown bean sprouts. The restaurant was very clean and tidy both outside and in, as were their bathrooms. The staff were polite and friendly.

Decently great Vietnamese food in the heart of Alabama! It looks nothing like a Vietnamese restaurant on the outside but inside, it’s all calm and relaxing – something I’m not used to seeing with Vietnamese restaurants. The service was a bit slow but they mean well. It was hard to understand them half the time. Just make sure to get all of your requests in one trip or else you may be waiting another 10 minutes for the waitress to come back. The combination rice plate was average. The meat and dried fish was nice but there were a lot of raw vegetables. The pickled cabbage was my favorite part. It felt like it was missing something – perhaps the fried egg cake I was used to seeing in other rice plates. The vermicelli noodle bowl had plenty of vegetables and way too much vermicelli. The egg roll pieces were good. The BBQ pork on this was more like pork jerky. Always ask for extra fish sauce to make sure you get the most out of this bowl.

made a quick stop on a rainy day(which is like every damn day in alabama) to grab some phở. food was okay. just tasted like regular phở. but the EGGROLLS!!! wow das da so tinys. charged $ 5 for 4 mini eggrolls. customer service was below average. they were super nice to other tables, frequently checking up on them how they were doing, but never did they eveb bother checking up on our table.(i lowkey think it’s because all of us got waters instead of their other overpriced drinks) anyways, 3 stars for the food and the cool, dark bar-like atmosphere

You may think that all phos are created equal but am here to tell you it’s not true. Saigon Bistro is okay. We came here on a Monday and got the beef stew vermicelli and pork and shrimp spring rolls. The rolls were disappointing, all noodle and hardly any pork and one sad little shrimp cut in half in each roll. The peanut sauce as the real source of disappointment, there wasn’t a lot of it and the bit there was was not tasty and was of a weird consistency. The beef stew vermicelli was small but I didn’t feel hungry after. Weirdly, they made it super spicy without asking either of us if we wanted it spicy. Luckily, we didn’t mind but I was sneezing and blowing my nose all throughout the meal. Overall nothing to die for but it’ll do for Vietnamese in Montgomery.

Excellent food & friendly, attentive, speedy service. Fresh ingredients and good portion sizes. I had the egg rolls, beef phở, and a sweet tea for lunch… bill was only $ 13. They have a fairly diverse menu, but some dishes are only available for dinner(not during lunch). I’ll have to come back at dinner time to check out some of their other stuff. Very tasty!

Once again, awesome. Extra spicy and sour chicken soup, the only way to cure a cold!

So surprised to have found this place. Food is on a heavier taste side(compared with the phở’s I have been in CA) but good flavor and fresh. The waiter is awesome A+++++++
