We picked this restaurant based on Yahoo searches since we all came from outside the area. The lunches were excellent and we paid about $ 65 for lunch for three people. That was cheap compared to what we are used to. The service was excellent too.

Excellent meal for all four of us tonight! They have the best bread ever! Excellent Eggplant dish, their pasta sauce is amazing, roasted chicken so flavorful, minestrone soup was great, buttata caprese salad fabulous too. Great dinner, at a reasonable price, and we will be back!

I heard of the hype from all of my friends and had to try out this hidden gem in Moorpark. From the bread to the entrée, everything is amazing. Johnathan is a fantastic chef and I will be coming back to the sit up bar to see him again. MUSTTRY!!!

The food is great almost every time but we also seem to encounter rude staff members almost every time. A couple years ago it was a host who did not acknowledge that people were standing in front of him waiting, a couple months ago the server was frustrated with the kitchen and we had asked her for bread for our toddler and she snapped at us saying«I’ve asked them… It’s in the oven!!!». My husband was totally taken back by her response. So good food… I’ll probably go back but customer service could be improved!

Fabio seems like a really nice guy. He used to get turtle food from the nearby Petco that I worked at all the time. Anyways, my husband and I went there for our anniversary. I forgot exactly what we got(damn) but the entrees were delicious and the pork dish was really tender. My chichen plate had a lot of flavor. The drink I had was pretty good. Definitely got my money’s worth there was quite a bit of alcohol in that sucker. The service was good, the employees were friendly and weren’t rude in any way that I remember. Then again it was somewhat empty when we were there so no one was under pressure. The only thing I would never get again was the dessert. It was bad. I ordered something that had Nutella in it, can’t recall. But for $ 9 it was so small my 2 yr old ate it in 3 bites lol. It wasn’t worth the money I’ll never get it again, but everything else was fantastic. I want to try the burgers next.

I can’t quite comprehend how I have not yet Unilocaled Café Frienze. It is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Ventura County. The service always exceeds expectations, the food is awesome, with the fresh ingredients actually all being made in-house, and some of the best ambiance in the area. Once you have had the gnocchi here, you won’t be able to have them elsewhere. They are light, fluffy, and completely cravable. Yup, even worth making up a word. I know you have had chocolate cake before, but you haven’t really had chocolate cake until you’ve had the flourless chocolate cake here– totally rich and decadent. Oh, and don’t miss their Mother’s Day brunch– it is quite the event.

Fettuccine Alfredo was spot on. Pizza was pretty good, a crunchier crust would have made it perfect. Nice wine list, good service, nice ambience. Prices are reasonable and it’s 5 minutes from our house. Fantastic!!!

Was extremely disappointed. Maybe it was my fault for going at 8pm on a Sunday night… The place was slow; I think there were two other tables seated when we ordered. In the past I have come during happy hour and the food was great. They must have saved the scraps from the weekend for Sunday night :-( I ordered a pasta dish with chicken(Fusilli) but with the spicy red sauce. The pasta was okay. Some was soft, some harder. Where it was all wrong was the chicken. I know, I know… chicken does come with great expectations. But here, when dinner for two exceeded $ 60, I expect the entrée to be better than jack in the box chicken. The chicken is served diced up in cubes. About half of them were okay and edible. The other half was like rubber. I couldn’t figure out if it was undercooked, frozen, or just a bad piece of chicken. Many pieces were not edible, and it was even hard to cut with a knife. It is against my personal judgement to ask for new food. I praise Unilocal,as this avenue of venting is the most fair for everyone. The food should be rated fairly as presented as the experience. In this case the food was poor, and the service was very subpar. Our server never once returned to our table except to pick up plates and pick up my credit card. Had I been asked how my meal was, I would have mentioned that it wasn’t what i expected and maybe they would have a chance to handle my issue then. 2 stars instead of 1, because I know there is potential and I have experienced a good meal there once before. My recommendation from this visit, steer clear during slow times. ****downgraded to one star because I emailed the business owner as he publicly suggested and he did not respond. If you are going to publicly reach out and then fail to follow through, expect a public response. Business and respect lost for this place

Great food, AWFUL service! I came here with my girlfriends for dinner the night before my wedding. We expected a fun and relaxed evening of girl-time, drinks and yummy food. What we didn’t bargain for was having to triple ask for EVERYTHING. It took the waitress 25 minutes to come and get our drinks order. Then another 15minutes to bring us silverware that we had to repeatedly ask for. Once our food came it was cold, but the waitress was nowhere to be found. The restaurant was not busier than average, so there really was no reason for the lack of attention. After our appetizers, I asked repeatedly to clean our table and she continued to ignore us. The rest of the meal was pretty much more of the same: we politely asked for XYZ, she(waitress) continued to ignore our requests. Before paying the bill, I told the manager why we were not going to leave a good tip for the waitress. It was the first time in my life I felt that leaving a tip would be rewarding truly awful behavior. To my surprise, the manager he did nothing. I left disappointed with our experience and even more disappointed by the lack of concern on the part of the manager. Giving this place two stars for the food, but honestly do not recommend if you’re at all used to any level of decent service.

Absolutely delicious food! I tried the Fusilli and it was amazing and the Short Rib Ravioli is to die for. The service was great along with the décor. I would recommend everyone to come try the food.

Great date night spot. My wife and I enjoyed it all! The Calamari is fresh and really good. Seemed like they were a little short staffed but fortunately a waitress from another section gladly came over to help. I got the short rib ravioli and would highly recommend. My wife LOVED the butternut squash ravioli. Two great entrees, an appetizer and some wine all well worth it. The prices are very reasonable!

My 16 year old daughter wanted to go here for her special birthday dinner so we made reservations for 715pm on a Wednesday. We were seated promptly and pleasantly as there was music in the bar section which was very nice; but it was overpowering. From where we were sitting across from the bar on the other side bar the front door; we couldn’t hear each other talk without yelling which was difficult. The food was spectacular and I have to give special thanks to the Executive Chef who came out as my daughter wanted something special. She made her requests to the chef, and he made something special off the menu which she really enjoyed. I had the gnocchi which was amazingmy wife had the pasta and meatballs which was also very good; but my youngest had pasta and red sauce which was okay — but here is the challenge — the service. The waiter was a bit arrogant and condescending to my wife and children; which really disappointed the evening. While my birthday girl went to the restroom; my wife wanted to surprise her with her favorite appetizer. The waiter said that is not the way we order things around here as it is all based on the timing of the food. Okay — I get it — but why the attitude and the comment. Moreover — he totally forgot the entire appetizer which he needed special time for it to be ordered — unforgettable. Also, my younger daughter pulled up the children’s menu which she qualifies for on their website. The waiter says we don’t have a children’s menu and dismissed her. I was so angry and disappointed; even though we had it pulled up on their website — thoroughly disappointing. He could have explained maybe it is for the weekend, once a month, not on days that end on «y», etc; but the way he said it and the way he responded was very disappointing. After all was said and done; they did bring a nice brad pudding for her dessert on the house; which is fine. Most importantly, the birthday girl was very happy for the evening. Unfortunately, my wife and other daughter and I were a little disturbed and frustrated. BUT…We have an update… Massimo reached out to me to get my feedback to make sure me and my family are happy. It is impressive that CF will take the time to contact customers, let them share their experience, and will do what it takes to make a customer happy! Thank you so much to Massimo and the entire CF Team.

I give this place a thumbs up. Happy hour is the way to go there. They have specials and they are also very good make sure you try the shrimp with polenta. The skirts are also very good. Pasta that we tried there with the blackened salmon, on point.

Fabio Viviani kept me warm through a brutal New York winter during his Top Chef debut, and a meal at his flagship Café Firenze definitely turned up the heat. The Short Rib Ravioli won’t win any awards for presentation, but good food speaks for itself. The impossibly soft short rib goes great with creamy Taleggio cheese sauce. The Roasted Chicken gained compliments from even the legendary Tom Colicchio. Each tender, juice-dripping bite was unforgettable, and the meat was perfectly herbed. I’ve had plenty of Tiramisu, but I’ve never had one this good. This one has the thickest, smoothest mascarpone cream ever. California’s winter has been a bit brutal this year, and Café Firenze is full of foods that will warm you up. Most things sound heavy and dense, but it’s traditional Italian in all its glory, and if you don’t go, you’re missing out!

What a wondeful place located in Moorpark. My friend and I came here on a weekday evening, the place wasn’t packed at all, it had a nice bar area once you walk in as well as very comfortable seating. The restaurant is quite large and the lighting is a little dim it’s romantic, very classy and very roomy, this restaurant is very large inside separated by walls for larger groups to a bar area and more open seating behind the bar in a separate room. Food was great, I ordered the pizza and my friend had ordered the pasta, both dishes were very good. Our Server Ross was very pleasant as well. All in all a great italian place, very good food. I definitely will have to come back and try their gnocchi which they are known for.

I don’t know why it’s been years since we’ve gone to Café Firenze! It’s so close to my home and the décor, service and food is always top notch!!! I made reservations on a Friday night and we were seated right away. The hostess started to walk to the room to the right, and I started to cringe since I assumed we were going to be sat in a not so desirable spot, since we’ve always sat in in the main dining room near the kitchen, but the room was very well decorated and I loved the chandelier. Our server was great at helping with drink and food selections. We shared the Pear & Strawberry salad and our entries of the Seafood Rigatoni and Pappardelle. Both were generous portions and flavorful. I think next time I will try the rigatoni with a white sauce in. The manager was walking around to ensure his guest were enjoying their time, and I do have one big complaint is that they are now charging $ 3 for their wonder toasted bread. From our server’s reaction, it seems that is an ongoing complaint. There was nice live music coming from the bar, and I need to come more often!

Fantastic Italian restaurant! Ventured over to Café Firenze for my birthday.(Not going to say how old. because the gray hairs are approaching!) The facility is very original with soaring ceilings and interesting architecture. Dress is nice, but not formal. I wore nice shorts and a polo and fit right in. Our server, Abraham, was fantastic in every way. We had the Lobster Bisque and Calamari for appetizers. The bisque was a good serving size, but wasn’t all that great. Nowhere near as tasty as at Larsens(at the Simi Valley mall). The calamari was fantastic, however, and also was a good serving size. All the entrees we ordered were great sizes. Often times at nicer restaurants you leave still hungry, but not here. Huge portions and incredibly tasty food. Fantastic all around. Also, Abraham was kind enough to bring a desert for my birthday. Nice touch! If you’re looking for a great place to get dinner, I strongly recommend Café Firenze. You’ll be spending around $ 40 per person, but it’s very worth it. 5 stars!
