No doubt the best pizza in Ventura County! A real New York pie. Cool place, friendly staff.

My favorite pizza in the area. Legit NY-style pizza! We particularly like the Soho(basically a Margarita) and the Urban Cowboy(BBQ Chicken). The Greenwich Village salad is also quite good and is easily enough for two-four people. They have really good live music, always quality acts when I stop by.

I noticed that there are new owners. This is a place that we have gone to at least once a week for that last few years. We enjoy the entertainment and the owners being very personal with their customers, The gentleman that appears to be the new owner was very polite and greeted us with a hello and checked up with the customers. I am not too sure about the women not too personalble. I hope she warms up to the Moorpark locals. Good Luck!

Went last night for the first time. Pizza was delicious! You gotta love a place, that only has one size pizza. BIG! :-) Fun place with live music. And I love the fact that we can bring our kid to hear some music. Definitely will be going back!

A friend and I had lunch here today and it was awesome. The pizza is great; wide selection of fresh toppings, fresh dough, couldn’t be better. They also have a few local beers at fair prices. But the best thing about this place is the people. As a first time customer, the manager and owner made us feel like regulars. Couldn’t have been a better experience. I’ll be sure to stop by again next time I’m in town.

I’ve been here twice in the past week. It is under new ownership & this place was rocking on a Tuesday night! It’s an extremely fun environment and I will absolutely be back. They had live music playing Rock & roll, great food, & wonderful service!

This place is a great local spot with the best pizza I’ve had in years! We walked in here for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised at how good the service and the food was! This is such a cool spot that has some great bands nationally and locally known… We will definitely be returning. BTW: I recommend ordering a Sausage, Mushroom, Pineapple, and Jalepeno pizza… It’s amaze-pants!

This place is truly the best pizza around without a doubt. When the menu says New York pizza it really is New York pizza with dough from New York along with the sauce, not New York«style». It’s a very fun environment with great service. Side note if you’re in a more party type mood they have one dollar shots when the train goes by, so that’s pretty neat! Long story short my wife and I try to walk there at least once a month, hell in getting hungry for their pizza hair writing this review.

I just watched a video on YouTube of the owner screaming and cursing at some band that must have played too loud… ummm you call yourself a venue, you put a stage in your venue… And then you cry like a little girl that shit her pants on the playground when a live band plays… I understand that you have rules, but don’t be a jerk… p. s. I went there one time, and they ran out of crappy pizza…

As a New York native… I know my pizza! This is the real deal! The Manhattan takes me back home with every slice. I was a fan of Mullholland Pizza in Thousand Oaks…(which closed)…but this is way more authentic. Anyone looking for a true NY slice of pie won’t be disappointed!

DEFINITELY the closest thing to NY pizza in the area, hands down. Huge pies, cooked on brick, with the ideal sauce: cheese ratio, it’s awesome. The staff is fantastic. They remind me of my relatives back in NY, blunt but lovable. The uninitiated may think they’re rude, but it’s a misconception, it’s more like this: I want a pizza, they want to sell me a pizza, let’s not overthink this and get on with it. Done. I also respect their commitment to live music and local bands, because there so few places like that in and around the Moorpark area. Double-winner. Thank you, Redballs Rock & Roll Pizza, for being you and bringing the goods!

Food is decent. Took a long time to get to us. I would definitely say that this spot is over priced and the guy at the front was very rude. Would not recommend unless you are really really hungry.

I VISITIED this delightful rock and roll pizza place with such a cool ambience. There was this young 17 year old boy playing the guitar so bad ass, I couldn’t believe he was not signed by anyone. So much talent! Now moving on to the food… So for the app, we ordered chicken fingers and it was ok. I would have preferred they were fresh pieces of chicken breast cooked and battered lightly. This is why I am giving 4 stars. For pizza, we ordered the white pizza and added meatballs to it. I have to say, being from JERSEY/NYC area this pizza was spot on delish! The dough is exported from NYC so its a hundred times better then California dough. Its lighter and thinner in which you can possibly eat an entire pie to yourself. I had three slices but pushing could of had 4! Nothing like CA dough, I can barely finish 2! Anyways, my fat ass that night was completely content. To drink I had their version of a Long Island Ice Tea, if you don’t know what that is then fuh-get-about it. ha ha Puts you on your tooshy if you don’t drink a lot in which I don’t anymore. But definitely come check this place out! im going back for my pizza fix soon, which is every two weeks! ;) You wont regret it and then you can finally say«Ive had NYC pizza»

EXTREMELY disappointed as I was a customer when they were located in Woodland Hills. I remembered a very good slice of sausage pizza for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the pizza I ordered on Sunday lacked any flavor or seasoning for that matter. I’m not sure if I’ll go back. Posting a picture of one of the slices I received.

The pizza is the closest thing to NY and northern Jersey and it’s fantastic. The slices are huge and they drip grease just like they do back east. Each pie is massive so definitely bring an appetite. The venue is cool and has a stage where you can catch live music. If you are a Jersey transplant like me and want a slice like home, check this place out.

I had gone to the location on Topanga Canyon. Pizza was good, but the sound level was too high. The new location is much nicer. I can actually be inside during the performances! Prices are not bad, drinks are very reasonable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I’ve only had the pizza, and it is thin crust, wood fired, and crust so crispy you can pick up and fold the pizza without having everything drip down your arm! A nice place.

This is going to be a long one… Let me state right off the bat that I have played at their Thursday night Open Mic show quite a few times. The above rating is for the FOOD only which I found to be very good indeed. I haven’t tried a lot of their dishes but their meatball sandwich is pretty excellent. If you are coming just to enjoy the food you will not be disappointed. Now I am going to get into some issues that probably will not matter to most of you who do not play music but just may if you come to the place to listen to music. I was a touring musician for many years in my wild and crazy ‘yute’ another lifetime ago. I still love to play out but these days it’s just for the fun of it. I applaud Mike, the owner, who tries to create a venue for musicians to get on a stage and do what they love to do. There are too few places that do this because there is not much profit in catering to starving and broke musicians. That is why you see these venues pop up all over the place and then you see them go belly up. So I am a big fan of anyone who creates this kind of space. However, there are some things that are inherently wrong with the place. Now, keep in mind, I’m an old fart so that may taint my view slightly but here we go. First of all, the acoustics are just terrible. This room is SO «boomy» and loud that any kind of music echoes and bounces like crazy in there. Add to that the fact that this venue seems to be the favorite of teenage punk and metal bands who are not only two exits past L O U D but also not very good(hey… let’s face it, it’s an open mic after all) and you kind of get an idea where I’m going with this. Additionally, there is a patio there where you can escape the loudness if you wish but just know that that is where people smoke. They leave the windows open so all the smoke goes right into the venue and if you add all of that up you have the ingredients for Excedrin headache #247. Unfortunately, I’m not finished. One last thing. This is a family place. Very young children are always there. There is a foosball table in the room so there are two more things that add to the noise factor. But here’s the point. They have this very unfunny comedian hosting the show who talks WAY too much and makes the show ever so much longer than it has to be. The mind boggling thing about it is that although he is constantly reminding the performers that this is a family friendly place, he peppers his own patter with tons of «MF’s» and sexual and political material totally unsuitable for small children. I am the least prudish person on this planet but I am also a father and I found this to be totally offensive. If Mike wants to make this venue truly a gem and be known for something other than the Foo Fighters played there and that he knows Dave Grohl personally, it wouldn’t take much to tweak these things and improve it immensely. I wish him the best of luck. He is a nice person, he works his ass off, it appears that his heart is in the right place and, like the rating shows, he does have great food.

Great spot, great vibes. Great food. I was really impressed after stopping in for my first time. Got myself a couple slices of pizza and a beer at happy hour for only $ 6! These guys kill it! Plus whenever the train rolls by they sell $ 1 shots! Not a bad deal! Ill definatly be back here!

Great pizza. Don’t know what you naysayers are talking about. This is about as Close as it gets to NYPIZZA. Dough is from Brooklyn it’s just baked here. Took my family here for lunch and by just getting back to California from New York on business this is spot on. Met the owner. Super nice guy. The place reminds me of the Roxy and Gazzarris plus pizza. Most of you low raters were probably not even born yet. So in New York fashion go F!@! Yourselves and go eat your shitty hipster create your own pizza

Sprung up originally via West Hollywood to a couple locations in Woodland Hills and now Moorpark, Redballs is one of those hidden gems you find in LA that makes LA such a wonderful place to live. Yes, the city is vast and you need a car, but there’s always something new and surprising to discover about it. Part Pizza spot, part music venue, this place seems as if it was plucked from the Sunset Strip and dropped in the middle of suburbia in Moorpark. They have a variety of Enegren craft beer on tap(located around the corner) for those that want something different. If you want your standard beers, they have that here too. A place where you might stumble across a band such as the Foo Fighters playing a surprise show on their permanent stage in the restaurant. The Foos have played at this venue twice, once recently as a warm up to their world tour. Regular live music are commonplace from any genre. This place has a punk feel with memorabilia throughout the restaurant. I would imagine this was how CBGB felt. They don’t discriminate on the bands they feature on the stage here. This is not that kind of place to expect excellent service. You might get some ‘tude or sarcasm, but don’t take it personal. I find that part of the charm of this place. The people here are real. Go for the pizza. Maybe go for the«I don’t give a f*ck» attitude from the staff. The owner is passionate about his pizza and it shows with each flavorful bite. A bit of a trek for those that live in LA proper. Might be worthwhile to make a day out of it and check out a live band. I felt as if I was transported to 6th Street in Austin or random spot in NYC… definitely didn’t feel like Moorpark. One of the best New York-style slices I’ve had in the LA area!

Just ordered a Meatball Pie and it was absolutely delicious! I grew up on long Island and know good pizza and this is the closest to new York tasting I have found in California. The only thing that’s holding it back from being 5 stars is the price. $ 22.50 is certainly not NY prices for a pie. A little steap if you ask me.

This place is amazing, saw this place on bar rescue and needed to try it out. It was great and the service was outstanding. We ordered the family meal for 30 bucks, all the pizzas are 20″ large! Great New York style easy to fold and eat. We will be back as adults with no kids to hear the bands.

I’ve seen some reviews that state their pizza is greasy. Get over it. NY/NJ pizza(especially if you have pepperoni and fold it — incidentally like it should be eaten) will have a little grease. For god’s sake people — there’s fat in pepperoni and also in the cheese. Let it drip into the napkin like we do back east. I digress. They fly their pizza dough in from Piscataway. The owner tosses the pies and they’re thin crust. This is officially the only true NY/NJ pizza I’ve found on this coast. We split up some pepperoni and cheese and both pies were great! By great I mean fantastic!!! A taste of home for me! The owner and the owner’s wife(co-owner?) are both friendly. This place is primarily geared for bands, but their pizza is jamming. I went up here twice when going to Ventura. If you’re from the east coast, it’s worth getting a pie to go. I really wish they’d open up something closer to Long Beach…

Bar with live music and terrible, greasy thin crust pizza. Also tried the chicken parm sandwich, which was a slab of dry, tough chicken sandwiched between two slices of pizza crusts. When neither parents nor adolescents like the pizza, that tells you all you need to know. Now, the drinks were strong, which helped wash down the food. The band this night was a group of high school kids(looked like) playing death metal rock. Their mothers probably loved it. The patrons are definitely an interesting mix… an old drunk at the bar, overtipping the bartender to keep her attention, a guy in his fifties trying to look like he was in a band once(but the t shirts and jeans were too new and crisp), teenagers who feel like they are at CBGBs, and families and bikers. Did I mention that on a Saturday night, they had«19 Kids and Counting» playing silently on the TV? Can’t imagine a scenario where we’d come again.
