Went here for dinner with my boyfriend the other night and it’s a cute little place and the service is pretty good but the food was nothing special. The presentation of the food and how it’s plated is lovely but the taste is subpar. The bread and olive oil they serve is very good… We ordered the lobster ravioli for an appetizer — which was actually very delicious. He got seared tuna and I ordered salmon… Both pieces of fish were over cooked. His tuna was barely red in the middle and my salmon was dry and flavorless, but the rice and vegetables were delicious. I will say that the serving portions are reasonable and pretty big so you get your money’s worth. We skipped on the dessert but the people around us that did order it seemed to enjoy it… Overall this place is alright, not WOW but not awful.

Food is excellent! The waitstaff is amazing: attentive, funny, knowledgeable. It is an absolute pleasure to dine here. The portions are huge. Next time I would get a salad and appetizer or share an entrée and dessert.

Everything was delicious from start to finish. Staff was incredibly friendly and even offered items that weren’t on the menu that we would enjoy — best lamb chops I’ve had. Even the sides were excellently prepared and beautifully presented! Will definitely be back for another nice meal.

Great food and service. Been going here for years — our waiter, Gerardo is always friendly and attentive. Food is always great!!! Love the duck quesadillas and the milk soaked vanilla cake. Will be going back again and again.

Chef Fredy has been getting it done for years. The food is always innovative and served right off the stove. I generally get the fish with a salad(Caesar) appetizer but the ravioli appetizer is beyond good. I read one review complaining about the dressing on the Caesar. I don’t get it; Its creamy and I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. You’re always greeted by Nestor(careful ladies he’s a heart throb) and the service is well trained and performs admirably.

Amazing food, great atmosphere. Louis was an awesome server. BYOB but there just happens to be a liquor store right next door. Would definitely recommend this place, I had the strip steak they had on specials. In fact our entire party of 6 ordered from the specials and everything was great.

been here two times and the food and service never disappoints. Decided to drop in with a group of 7 on the day Morristown was celebrating their St. Patrick’s Day parade. Luckily everyone was busy getting drunk at the nearby bars so Chef Fredy’s was pretty empty. Our server Luis was the best! He’s funny, friendly and awesome at recommending food suggestions. Some of the meals we ordered were –Butternut squash ravioli special –Pork chops –Oysters –Calamari All the food is fresh and has tons of flavor. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. P. S. Its BYOB

I had previously been here and thought it was excellent; however, my second time there was not as good. To start, I had ordered fig and goat cheese ravioli for an appetizer, and they brought a short rib ravioli. We notified that this was not what we had ordered, and the right one was never brought, AND we were charged for the dish we did not order. After that I ordered the duck and it was overcooked and way too dry.

This place is definitely a winner! Came here with friends for a get together and I was just amazed with every single thing I was served. Calamari was excellent and crispy, not rubbery or overcooked at all. Had duck confit quesadillas that just seemed like something I could have every day of my life, being cheesy and savory and perfect. Then just as I thought it couldn’t get any better, the entrees came out and they were all unique and delicious in their own way. Steak was tender and juicy, and fish was flaky and fresh. What I found almost as good if not better than the taste of everything was the presentation which was just amazing in every way, and made each dish a work of art. Will def. be back!

Very friendly staff, well portioned plates, and very tasty food. We shared the Brie and duck quesadilla appetizers, which were both delicious. My wife got the Gouda stuffed pork, and I had the tuna steak with wasabi mashed potatoes special. Not a morsel left on either plate. Would certainly go back!

I really liked this place. Fantastic food and friendly service. I ordered the barramundi, which was fantastic and the bf had the lamb, which was also good. Small place, but didn’t feel cramped. The waiter gave us great suggestions on the menu. BYOB. We will definitely be back again and will take out of town guests. Try it!

Chef Fredy’s Table locates crossing the street from my most favorite movie theater in the world AMC10, and Hyatt hotel. You can park in the hotel garage. There is no lunch here on weekend. Dishes were well plated, which gives you a nice visual effect. My experience is that if the food are on top of each other, it is an expensive place. This role applied here too. Lunch is about $ 20~30 a person, and dinner of two will easily be over $ 100. It is interesting to have a $ 10 plating charge if you want to split any entrée. It is definitely one of the high end place in Morristown.

Tried Chef Fredy’s Table recently for a family celebration and all of us were impressed. It is high-quality, well-prepared American fare in a delightful setting. It is not highly creative, though some of the beer-inspired dishes are of interest to some. The duck quesadillas were a big hit. The pork chop was very good, the pasta entrée was tasty and the lamb ossa bucco was prepared perfectly. The BYOB option is a plus. Also, the service was highly professional. We were thanked by the waiter, the manager and even one of the chefs when we left.

I am sadly giving Fredy’s one star. I wanted to like Fredy’s. The room is pretty and warm. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. However giving the food four stars is just not correct. The calamari had a lovey flavor profile, but were rubber. The Caesar salad was limp with too much dressing, bitter and heavy from anchovies. The mahi mahi had a really lovely fruit dressing, but was not seared as promised. The wasabi mash was green and lacked any creamy fullness. Some of the vegetables were al dente and some withered under the heat lamp. The Crème Brûlée was the best I have ever had. And I had Crème Brûlée at 21. This restaurant needs to get its cooking act together. I say this with all hope they do.

My husband and I agreed after our second dinner here, it is a very nice meal. The service is EXCELLENT and I will go as far to say it is the best service we have received in Morristown. The menu has several varied options and daily specials. Prices are reasonable, but definitely not a cheap bite. The décor is a bit old school. Great spot for a pre-theater dinner as the movies are directly across the street.

I am seriously baffled by all of the 5-star reviews. We came here after seeing the great reviews and were extremely disappointed by the food. At half the price, it might have been worth three stars. At the prices they charge… oof. Pros: Other than the actual food, everything else was good. The restaurant ambiance is very nice and the service is attentive if not friendly. Portions are very generous and dishes are plated attractively. Two of our party shared a pear salad that they seemed to enjoy. Cons: Every other food item was disappointing: — The much-recommended calamari might have been passable with no preconceptions, but was a disappointment after reading all of the rave reviews here. The flavor was decent(although a bit on the acidic side and not very spicy,) but the dish was somewhat greasy and the fried calamari was soggy rather than crisp. — Pork chops were quite tough and not very flavorful; likewise for the roasted duck. — «Maryland lump crab cakes». Um, what? This was a flat cake of mostly filler with small shreds of crab and a greasy breading, and looked like a pancake rather than a crab cake. If this dish were served in Maryland, I’m pretty sure there would be pitchforks. — Fish fillet was OK if uninspired, but the fish was overcooked and I found a couple of surprise bones. Also, the accompanying risotto tasted decent but was dry and mealy rather than rich and creamy. — Gelato was OK, but the chocolate mousse and accompanying cream were both much too heavy. And all at $ 30+ a plate? A previous comment by the owner justified the high prices by citing«fresh, high-quality ingredients and the skill with which we prepare our dishes» but the main proteins seemed of average quality at best, and the preparations were sloppy and heavy-handed. Sorry, Chef Fredy’s, but we won’t be back.

Went for NYE. We realized last minute that we didn’t have plans, found this place on Unilocal and hoped for the best. When we called, the host couldn’t be kinder. We were able to get in and are so glad we did. First of all. The place is a BYOB! The food is pricey so being able to bring your own wine helps keep the cost down. The atmosphere is nice. It is a small space with many tables yet didn’t seem too loud or crowded. We were originally placed near the windows which was a little chilly. We asked to move and, even though it was crowded NYE, they accommodated us. The servers are professional and the waitstaff were always there giving you more bread(which is delicious) or water when needed. The food was great. We shared the calamari which was amazing and the artichoke which was also tasty. Seriously though, get the calamari! I ordered the filet which could have used a tad more Gorgonzola(but I also just love Gorgonzola!). Two in our party ordered the short ribs. I tried those and definitely recommend. Another ordered the duck and said it was cooked perfectly. All entrees came with veggies and mashed potatoes which were good. They also come with a beautiful orchid, something I loved :). We ended with key lime pie(unique and tasty), death by chocolate(almost too rich for my liking) and the brownie sundae which was great. They do cute artwork in your mochas too :) The place is pricey but the items all come with sides and its a BYOB so that helps keep cost down. The portions are huge and you really feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. Great for a special occasion.

We had an excellent meal at Tim Schafer’s last weekend. Everything we tried was innovative, made to perfection and the portion sizes were huge. From the apps, we ordered the Baked Brie in a Toasted Nut Crust, Scallops(special that day) and a Quail dish that was also a special of the day(not the same one as the dinner menu). The Brie served with toasted bread had a melt in the mouth goodness, the scallops were delicious and my friends loved the quail too. I got the Barramundi with large shrimp served with Chinese black rice(daily special) and it was yummy. The fish was flaky, creamy and so fresh! Hands down, everyone agreed it was the best dish on the table. Loved every bite. It went well with the black rice. The shrimp was grilled well, but it paled in comparison to the silky fish. The husband got the Shark shank with ginger risotto — another daily special. It was quite an unusual preparation and I’m not a fan of steaky fish, but he liked it. The ginger risotto was delish. Our friends had the Mahi Mahi, blackened and served with jasmine rice and the Pork Osso Bucco. I loved the blackened Mahi Mahi, it’s one of my favorite fish and it was fresh and made well. Since I don’t eat pork, didn’t try the Osso Bucco, but my friend polished his off. For the desserts, we got the Key Lime Pie, Bread Pudding served with Vanilla ice cream, Brownie and Death by Chocolate. Just a heads up, the desserts are huge and we couldn’t finish everything. They were all nice, nothing exceptional that you haven’t had before. The service was top notch. (Byob)
