I went for breakfast this morning, the food was horrible! The place was stuffy, no air and so dirty! I didn’t eat my food and the waitress didn’t ask me why. The waitress was awful!!! Food took way too long for a diner. 1 star is way too much for this place.

We sat down for 20min and never even saw a menu. Meanwhile, multiple staffers just kept passing us by and the place was empty. We got up and left.

that was a fat meal — an appetizer platter to start: mozz sticks, jalapeño poppers, chicken fingers, loaded potato skins. save your stomach shibs. then the western bbq cheeseburger shows up, holy moly is that big. america, fuck yeah. those are some huge ass portions. i just err… when the burger falls apart in my hand, thats a problem. i need my food to retain its form. maybe lather less bbq sauce next time, yaknow. i asked for cheese fries too, meh, the service forgot a few things, which we didn’t make bones about because we ate so much as a group that honestly we wouldnt have had space for pancakes, sausages etc etc. oh one thing i did roll over was the fact that i got regular fries instead of cheese fries. im pretty sure it was like the only thing i really really wanted and didnt get. but i didnt fret about it in the moment. i had a carrot cake to go as well, that was the best part ha ha, all around very affordable and the only thing open at 2:30 am to eat in motown anyways.

Had breakfast here French toast sunny side up eggs and sausage. The food was blah tasting. The waitress was good with servicing the table. We got our check and the prices were off on both breakfast. We inquired politely to see if it’s our misunderstand. Waitress spoke with manager. He directed her to say that the menu prices were wrong and needed to be updated. They made no attempt to fix our check. Hey just a few dollars so we let it go but we are never going back to Morristown diner again.

2nd time eating here. Absolutely disgusting. The Spanish«manager» is a joke, he worked at 11pm when we Went. Absolutely rude, we had 4 people… asked for a bigger table(a bunch of open bigger tables) we had 2 more coming. You would think they would give us a bigger table. Nope, Spanish manager said they can sit alone at the table… lol what a joke. They will never get a NY of our business ever again. Oh and don’t go there unless Your intoxicated absolutely most gross place I’ve been too. Makes me wonder how the health department did not get them. I’ll be sure to wrote a letter to the board of health.

Horrible experience. Never wrote a review in my life because i hate complaining. But this was absurd. Rude employees and terrible food.

DON’T order the disco fries, or anything with gravy. The gravy is tar black and tastes burnt, like it’s been boiling in a pot for a month straight.

I’ve been here several times– probably too many. I haven’t really had a particularly bad experience while dining there. Though, at the same time, I haven’t had great experiences; of note, I don’t usually go there when they are busy(–not impressive). My favorite things are probably their chicken caesar wrap, the motown panini, and surprisingly, their boneless buffalo wings(better than Cluck-U’s when done right!). I’m pretty much done ordering takeout from here. The Godfather across the street is a good go-to place for takeout(minus their inaccurate wait times). Some food such as the wings come out pretty awful each time I’ve ordered it to-go and its not as saucy. The chicken itself tastes lousier— its as if they use worse ingredients and sub-grade chicken specifically for takeout(and no, it’s not crappy from ‘sitting there’ in the container). Additionally, the ranch dressing that I thought tasted a little different ending up surprising me with some chunks at the bottom of the container(no, it was not blue cheese). Disgusting! I’ll wrap my novel up by mentioning that they actually charge a takeout fee. It’s very minimal, but quite an annoyance, especially now, with their awfully cooked food to go. Basically, they are open 24⁄7 and overall have decent hit-or-miss food. When the food is edible and not old, it fills the belly.

Place is disgusting. Food is disgusting. Asked for a lemonade and they gave me lemon Gatorade. Has some friendly staff but most are horribly rude. At one point during my ordering process I was blatantly told. «No» when I requested a menu item, with no explanation as to why. Bathrooms are disaster areas. Come to think of it the entire place is a disaster area.

The portions were generous, the food tasted ok, and everything was very inexpensive. The décor is completely outdated and the service was horrible. The waitress forgot our drink orders, gave us the wrong toast, and put mayo on the sandwich instead of on the side like we asked. She was pleasant enough when we first arrived but completely disappeared after we placed our order. I know this place has been in business forever and with the bad reviews they are getting I am nervous that they will nor survive. I am hoping that they will get their act together!

I went on a Sunday night after my real dinner destination was closed and I figured it’s a diner, how can you go wrong with a diner, right? I was wrong. The diner itself is as people have said, rundown and pretty basic. Our waitress unfortunately was rude and we overheard her telling another table«It’s Sunday, I didn’t come here to work» so that really made it unpleasant from the start. The menu is big and the prices are reasonable. It was pretty empty when we went but it took a long time to get what we ordered. I got the pancakes and french toast combo with eggs but as you can see in the picture I never got the pancakes. I asked my waitress for them but she very sternly told me I didn’t order them and I was honestly afraid to argue with her. My friend’s drink never arrived so we had to remind her about it after she brought out our food. My boyfriend was never even given a placemat or utensils. The food was just okay. We might’ve gotten dessert but we weren’t given a chance to order anything else since our receipt was just dropped on our table and we felt like they wanted us to leave. It was a one and done place for me.

This is the go to spot to eat after a night out in motown. Was here last week and I got the philly cheese steak with mozzarella on the fries. The philly cheese steak was a little dry and the roll was too big, but when you’ve been drinking, everything tastes pretty good. The mozzarella fries were amazing, of course. The service was fast and friendly, so I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to eat late at night.

The food and prices are great. Nice crowd and a nice atmosphere. The service is very quick, no waiting at all. Some of the food could’ve used a little more seasoning, but I understand with everyone being afraid to use salt, so that’s fine. Huge potions, kids sizes are for an adult child… I had to send back the spaghetti for a grilled cheese for my son, more manageable, but both dishes were delicious. Loved the amount of bacon that came with my meal. Thank you so much Morristown diner, I’ll be back!!! Ps: the kids meals also come with dessert… AWESOME!

Got taken here, went without reading reviews for a preconceived notion. I think 2 stars is a bit harsh. We had a nice, surly, North Jersey waitress, so you have to be OK with attitude. She was attentive and otherwise a good waitress, which is what really matters. The place gave us seating for 14 people when we thought we’d be 12 — ended up being 9, didn’t really matter. Now, I just ordered breakfast, but from seeing some of the other meals, I think everything here is up to snuff. My French toast came out pretty well sized for the cost, with plenty of bacon cooked very crispy(which I like — you will want to inform them otherwise before ordering if you like it any other way). The eggs were also done a little too well for my liking. Actually, I don’t know if they’ll cook things less if you ask. She should have asked. She did bring us all a pitcher of water with plenty of lemons, most of both of which made their ways to my glass. Other foods — someone had a very large lunch salad he couldn’t finish. Someone ordered a sandwich and boxed some of it to go. It all looked very competent. My date’s breakfast potatoes were crispy on the outside, just potatoes but a nice portion. Intangibles — Open 24 hours, a plus. Not a lot of parking, awkward layout inside. One of the smallest«true NJ diners» I’ve been in, and the menu is also smaller than most. I was going to give this a 3-star review, but after 52 reviews averaging out to 2 stars, I think it deserves more. Maybe I’d have a negative experience in the future, but I don’t see a reason to be harsh on them. Food’s good enough, service is good enough, portions are plenty big enough, price is plenty small enough. So they’re 4 stars until I have a reason to believe otherwise. Go ahead, make my day.

The place is a bit run down and could use a little remodeling, but it’s a solid, no-nonsense Jersey diner conveniently located in downtown Morristown… Friendly, fast service and great desserts…

Went here for breakfast after a manicure across the street. We were seated in the rear of the diner in a booth right away & the hostess & waitress were pleasant enough. This is your standard diner, with pictures on the menu, large portions & hearty breakfast food. Nothing out of the ordinary, except that the place is in need of a major makover as the décor is at least 20 years old. I’m The biggest issue & the reason for my 1 star rating is that when I got out of the booth we were seated in & got to my car I found GUM all over the back of one of my brand new leather riding boots. Apparently some kid had decided it was a good idea to store their gum on the booth & the restaurant did not clean/check so I got«stuck» in it. I was horrified — A. It’s disgusting; B. It took a professional shoe maker to get the gum off which was all over the back of one boot. Needless to say, I would be highly concerned about the cleanliness of the rest of the place including the kitchen based on this experience & will NOT be eating here again — AVOIDAVOIDAVOID!

Been here a handful of times and always think it’ll be my last. On my most recent stop here,(an early lunch on Sunday), the place was quite full. We got a mini booth for 2 and I proceeded to flip through the gigantic plastic menu. My first issue with this place was that I was parched and really looking forward to a water but we felt like we kept waiting and waiting. Finally a busboy drops them off in a very hurried fashion and water gets splashed around quite a bit. Small victory though, the glasses are still half full and I’m no longer parched! We order food and I get the chicken gyro platter with a greek salad. Let me describe this is a little more detail why I was so disappointed. If you’ve ever stopped your washing machine mid-cycle(yes, I’m actually talking about laundry in a restaurant review) while the clothes are dripping wet, that’s what the salad looked like. Highly thankful that the salad’s at least washed… but why not throw it in the dryer(=salad spinner). Watered down the dressing and limp lettuce is not appealing to my tastebuds or my eyes. The gyro was also far from great though the fries were crispy and good. Portions are great, it’s enough to feed two. The service was also very rushed and almost non existent… but if you’re really in the mood for diner food or perhaps after a long night in the green, maybe you can look past all this.

As anyone who’s read my Diner reviews knows, I have high expectations for a Jersey Diner. I want good food, I want a good sized portion, I want good prices, and I want good service with a smile. Jersey has hundreds of diners who do this well every day and when I find them I rave about them. Unfortunately, after three tries I’m still not a huge fan of the Morristown Diner. and I SO want to be. I’ve had two breakfasts here and a lunch and I haven’t been blown away. The prices are great, but the food has just been average — thus the three stars… good but not great. My last visit I ordered a ham, cheddar and spinach omelet with a side of grits and white toast. Plate came out with hash browns and rye toast… and when the plate came back with the grits they were just slopped onto the plate and were clumpy. Omelet was good, but wasn’t happy with the rest. I’ve also been here and had pancakes which were good, but the ‘crispy’ bacon I ordered was NOT crispy. My first time here I had the BBQ Texas Burger which was pretty tasty… a little overcooked, but tasty. I will continue to give this place a few more chances since I’m in the area fairly regularly, but eventually they are going to have to kick it up a notch or I’m going to find another place to eat.
