It seemed like the place would be nice, the dishes on their menu sounded good, although there wasn’t many vegetarian options. We wanted a drink that wasn’t alcoholic so our waitress suggested hot cider(it was not on menu) and when she finally brought it after chit chatting forever with the one other table that was present, I felt the need to ask what kind of cider it was, so she brought it out this awful packet of powder that was totally artificial. I said«we can’t drink this, sorry». But then She just left them there on the table. We ordered our overpriced food and when it came my dish of curried vegetables had huge chunks of tofu which I specifically said I didn’t want and very little vegetables. I had it sent back. It took forever to get my dish back and when it came it looked like a completely different dish with a ton of veggies, which I was more pleased for. My partner however was not thrilled with his pasta primavera that did not have many veggies and he woke up with a terrible acid stomach in the morning. Our waitress was pleasant but spent most her time talking talking to the people at other table.

This restaurant has certainly made a comeback as of late. Their menu has been revamped and their ingredients and quality have improved tenfold. The ambience has also improved but it could be better. I think if they replaced some of those uncomfortable chairs with some awesome booths, and maybe had better lighting and background music, then this place would be a gem. Besides that, though, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a shot if you are craving a fine dining experience. Get the steak chimichurri! Yum!

Great food, super friendly staff and one of a kinda hospitality. We were a group of 4 and ended up here after a long day at crater lake. The best food we’ve eaten in a long time. We tried their Asian flavored entrees and all of them were too good. The deserts were a great finish to an awesome dinner.

My boyfriend and I came to Lily’s for Brunch on our trip to Mount Shasta and it was delicious! The ambiance was simple, but cute; perfect for a nice, casual meal. I wish I remembered our server’s name because she was lovely! She gave excellent service– coffee refilled every time it looked low, and when there was a mistake in the kitchen(my order came out slightly incorrect), she handled the mishap with great kindness and care. My boyfriend ordered the Biscuits & Gravy with an extra biscuit(this was a vacation getaway after all!), and I ordered the Arnold Benedict. He was very happy with his dish, and I must say that my Benedict was exceptional as well. The english muffin was soft and warm, but crispy on the edges(perfect!), and the potatoes served on the side were nice and crispy, just like I like ‘em. We will be back at Lily’s on our next trip to Shasta in the summer.

We came here twice during our stay in Mount Shasta over New Years weekend. I had the trout for dinner and hubby had his steak. The trout was beyond delicious, I kept thinking about it the next day for dinner lol. The following day we had breakfast and I had me some eggs Benedict over smoked salmon… Oh em geeeh! This place has great staff! Love the chef who was there to mingle with his customers and love the food! Will be back on our next trip to the beautiful Mount Shasta!:))

Food is okay, service needs work. They forgot or drink order, said they would being soy sauce and chopsticks and never did. We couldn’t even catch their eyes on the small dining room. Crispy California roll is bland and doesn’t taste like a regular roll, even with the frying. Chicken salad salad is too vinegary. Wouldn’t go again when driving through town. Unilocal disappointed us.

We had great service and better than average food this morning. Got there around 9:30 for brunch and it was very empty. Standard breakfast fare but done well. Biscuits and gravy were a bit sloppy with the biscuit undercooked but the corned beef hash was top notch. Huge chunks of very good corned beef. All in all a great experience. We will go back

Let me first say that the dinner we had was 5 star but the wait for the food is rated 2 stars. After we ordered our dinner it was at least 45 minutes wait for our food. The waitress informed us two items would require a 20 min. Wait. However, because we were ready to eat and hungry we didn’t order those entrees. There would be no need for this review if the waitress hadn’t given us a dismissive apology twice! I think we will try it again because maybe this was a rare occasion. It would have been nice if the manager/owner would have acknowledged the long wait.

Lily’s has a nice ambiance, sort of has a mid-higher end feel with a very friendly staff. I tried the trout which I ended up not liking very much. The trout still has the skin on when they gave it to me(they tried to present it well, but it really didn’t look that appealing). It has some very strong herbs inside that really made the flavors very juxtaposed. The farro & Vegys below were delicious! But then they put some very rich butterey sauce that just made my stomach feel horrible. I did try my friends short rib dish that was delicious! It had some mashed potatoes and cauliflower that reminded me of Thanksgiving. I think these type of «country» meals is a strength of theirs, not the fish. Trust me. The chef seems like he’s trying to mix up a lot of the flavors with the sauces that I don’t think is necessary. My advise to him would stick to the strength of the flavors from the different components, don’t dress it up. You could do very well.

The server was nice. The appetizer didn’t come out as it was forgotten. We saw our entrees come out but we reminded her we hadn’t seen our apps. She took back the entrees and sped up the apps. Unfortunately the apps seemed rushed and one seemed microwaved. Our entrees came out soon and were lukewarm. The taste was very good. The vegetables on the side were cold and should have been hot. The server compensated with free glasses of wine for all.

Very nice interior but the caliber of food does not match the price. Beans were canned. Salmon ok. Frittata good. Coffee excellent. Service very good. There are better choices in town. But if you like uplifted décor and nice service but mediocre food, Go here!

My boyfriend and I ate at Lily’s on a Saturday night, on our last night of our Mount Shasta trip. We made reservations for 8pm, but we didn’t need to as there were plenty of tables available. Despite this, we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table. They told us they had to clean up our table and get it ready. I saw plenty of tables that looked ready so I’m not sure why they couldn’t seat us at one of them right away. Our waiter seated us at our table and apologized for the wait. She served us bread and butter. The bread tasted like the Hawaiian dinner rolls you can buy at the store. They didn’t even bother warming them up. I usually stock up on bread as much as restaurants are willing to serve them, but when our waitress asked if we wanted more bread, I didn’t care for more. I ordered the Grilled Bone-In Porkchop and my boyfriend had the«Lily’s Own» Chicken Pasta. The porkchop was good, but I definitely had better. It could have been more moist. The melba sauce they used tasted almost like BBQ sauce, and it was a bit heavy. The mashed potatoes were good, but nothing special. They could’ve added some seasoning, green onions, etc. to elevate the taste, but it was very ordinary. We both had a bite of each other’s meals and agreed that we had better. All-in-all, the food was decent, the dining experience was okay, nothing really to write home about. Maybe because my boyfriend and I have had several fine dining experiences, but we’re not sure why this place has 4.5 stars. Maybe it’s good for the area? Mount Shasta is a beautiful town with amazing scenery and landscape, but I wouldn’t travel all the way there for the food. Food: Just okay Service: Good(despite the 10 min. wait to be seated) Price range: $ 20-$ 30 Décor: Dated(reminded me of the ‘90s) Ambiance: Casual Sound: Moderate(though there was a table that was pretty loud)

After a day of showing my partner around a slice of my childhood we were on the hunt for a good place to eat. I took to Unilocal and found Lily’s, with solid reviews and beautiful looking food we decided to give it a try. Parking is ample, street parking as well as a small lot in the back of the restaurant. Inside, you will find perfectly dated décor that just seems to work with the space. Simple, small, clearly it was a house at some point in time and that just adds even more to the charm. We were greeted upon entering and asked to sit inside or outside. Ushered to our table and given menu’s, our waiter appeared shortly after. Taking our drink order and seeing if we have questions about their food items. Looking over all options we decided to have for an appetizer Tuna TarTar — served with very fresh big chunks of tuna, avocados and a lovely aioli, with a side of greens, sesame oil and sesame seeds and wanton chips. I really enjoyed the large chunks of raw tuna and I was very impressed with how fresh it was. Skirt Steak Chimichurri, served with potato wedges and a salad dressed with fresh avocado. I am not sure if this chimichurri sauce is made in house or not, but it was really wonderful, much more thick in extra than we are used to, it had the perfect kick. Such a simple salad, lettuce, salt and avocado, but it vanished from the plate and into out stomaches rather quickly. Our skirt steak was requested Medium Rare, but served to us medium. We informed the server, who asked if we would like another cooked for us, but we decline, we merely wanted to inform the chef. The meat/sauce still tasted amazing. Sticky Lemon Chicken served with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and fresh carrots/parsnip. The sauce on the chicken is a thick, very sticky/sweet honey, the lemons are cooked to an edible perfect, marrying the sweet and tang with the chicken meat. Carrots and Parsnips dipped in the sauce added an even more delightful depth in taste. The potatoes with garlic and thyme being a much needed salty component. Really wish I had gotten our male waiters name, he was fantastic!(Sunday, August 16th around 6:30PM) Two San Francisco Foodies every satisfied! I can’t wait to come back on our next visit to my childhood home-town.

In the down home, friendly city of Shasta, why not embrace that instead of attempting to be upscale? Lily’s tries to be fancy by promoting some premium ingredients, but they are stingy with those ingredients. A couple nights before, we had eaten at a Michelin-starred restaurant in San Francisco. We figured nothing in Shasta would compare. Taking the safe route to avoid getting a pricey yet lackluster entrée, my girlfriend ordered fries and a sandwich for dinner. Like a diner that knows how to maximize the deep fryer, the fries were the best thing we ate, but also provided the first example of trying to be fancy. The nicely fried fries were called«triple truffle fries» because they had truffle oil, truffle salt and truffle aioli. I wouldn’t expect them to use real truffles, but I couldn’t smell or taste any truffle oil on the fries. The same was true with the truffle aioli. I could taste truffle in the salt, but it was pretentiously placed on the side. The Cuban sandwich had the correct components of pork, ham, pickles, mustard, and cheese along with being lightly pressed. Granted this is a nit-picky point, the menu said«authentic Cuban bread» that was really some cheap French sandwich roll — not airy Cuban bread that easily flattens. Chorizo was the fancy element and at least I could taste it even though it didn’t help the sandwich because it took away from two key elements of a true Cuban — the bite of the mustard that is augmented by the bitter acid of the pickle. The side salad was barely dressed. I too tried to order conservatively with a salad and pasta. The salad featured bleu cheese from Rogue Creamery in Oregon which was the fancy ingredient. Again, there was also barely any cheese in the salad. The salad had too few walnuts and barely any dressing. I added the aioli from the fries to flavor the virtually bare romaine. «Lily’s chicken pasta» wasn’t fancy, but was another example of skimping on the key ingredient. With four large chunks of breast that probably weighed a total of two ounces, the pasta had too little chicken. The pasta came with snap peas that were almost gray like canned green beans, «roasted red peppers» that tasted fine but technically weren’t roasted, and overcooked spinach fettuccini. I gave a local reisling from Alpen Cellars a try which didn’t give me much confidence for wines made in Trinity County. A red blend from Kismet from California’s North Coast was average.

I’m having the Chicken Fried Steak. The country potatoes are divine. Perfectly herbed and lightly oiled. Cooked firm, not crunchy, not mushy, little red skin on goodness. The country fried steak is amazing. The breading is phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned, lightly crunchy, juicy and delicious. The country gravy is light and again perfectly seasoned. The salt shaker(needed a lil on the potatoes) contains sea salt. Very nice Oneida flatware. I’m el cheapo and was put off by the $ 13 price tag but I would order this any time! Well worth it! My wife couldn’t finish her potatoes! A glorious day for this fluffy guy!

So my husband and I came here for breakfast, since we were done working fall river mills, and going back to Yreka. My husband had the chicken fried steak, and I had a piece and it was perfectly cooked, and the size was huge, it had good flavor as well. I got the Salmon Benedict, it was really good, and the only reason I am giving a four star review is because, I love seeing the golden yoke spilling out, and this didn’t spill, it barely trickled, what saved them from getting another star removed for the yoke incident, was the hollandaise sauce and the capers that were in it, that sauce was so good, I was using my potatoes trying to get it all lol.

We had been to Lily’s during its first iteration. We had also been to its replacement, Pinnacles. We had liked both. We went back to the reborn Lily’s for a casual dinner with an old friend. We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night and they were already out of a couple of entrees that appealed to us. Entrees are a little on the high side and many had ingredients that I do not like, such as fennel and tarragon. I ordered the walnut garbanzo vegetable burger. I love garbanzo beans and walnuts are a great nut. What could be bad about that? The flavor was fine but the consistency was an awful mush. There was no toothiness to the vegie burger. My husband and friend both had the herb chevre burger. They both enjoyed their beef. On reporting on our dinner to the owner of the B&B we stayed at, he said that he can not understand why they keep the walnut garbanzo burger on the menu. It was always bad.
