I really piss off about this restaurant, I have waited about one hour and got Nothing, I asked waiter three times and he said every body is waiting, at last he asked I remembered you ordered boiled fish, what is another one??? I am very angry, and ask did he order for me? He said he didn’t. Then I left. I will never go this suck place again!!!

Good and spicy. I had the house chow fun and the salt and peppered shrimp. No octopus or squid in the chow fun. Shrimp full body with head. Nice and spicy, really good. Chow fun had small noodles like a fettuccini. I like the wider noodles myself. All in all a good meal for just me. In the bay for work mañana.

No zero star? They deserve it! The food is so-so, the service sucks. The waiter with glasses, he sucks. He has a very negative attitude, rude to the guests. he even steal money from the guests. I ordered lunch special there, they asked me to choose white/brown rice first. I chose brown rice, and they said nothing. When they have the final bill, the brown rice is for extra $ 1. They did not note it on the menu, and did not even tell you in the beginning. When I asked the shit waiter, he did not want to apologize or even explain to you. He just said«everywhere is like this». Oh really? F**k you, couldn’t you tell me in the beginning? He even said«do not come again». OK I won’t, and I will tell my friends not to come, because of this fucking waiter.

Authentic spicy Sichuan style, the spicy ones are very spicy! The non spicy ones taste good too, we will definitely come back to try more dishes. Service ok.

Definitely five starts for food. The most authentic shichuan food I’ve ever had in the Bay Area. Can you believe it? They even have 折耳根 at this restaurant!!! Some people may say their food is not so clean, but seriously, I could care less. As for service, 3 starts maximum.(you kind have to expect this level of service at a small Chinese restaurant.)

Average at best. Dinner was expensive and lacked flavor. Beef and broccoli was below average and the broccoli was barely edible. Same for the vegetable lo mien. Service was friendly and fast. Amex not accepted.

Pretty good Sichuan food in the mountain view/palo alto area. You need to know what to order, to avoid not so good dishes. Dishes that I like: Stir fried winter melon Pork kidney All the fish fillet dishes

Do NOT eat here. The food here is not clean, or maybe even went bad. They got suspended for hygiene issues. There was a sign hanging on their door.

Short Story: It’s alright… Long Story: I came here on a Wednesday evening with two others and the place was slightly packed. We were promptly seated and got menus. We ordered the steamed pork buns, fish, spicy pork, and a few other dishes. All the dishes were good and came out in a timely manner with the exception of one. The service is spotty and typical of many Chinese restaurants. I had to wait a long time for a water refill. The décor and ambiance have been upgraded since a while ago. The prices have also gone up… but this is the South Bay where many things are expensive! Verdict: I’ll come back if others want to, but probably won’t be my idea.

Service can be a bit curt; food speaks for itself. These guys care about making their food authentic. Best Szechaun restaurant I have found in South Bay. 1. They make their own steamed pork buns in house 2. Flavor actually tastes like authentic Szechuan food 3. Waiters use old receipts as paper to write down ordered items. This shows hustle. When restaurants cut costs, they should not be cutting costs from the food quality or atmosphere, but in small places like those. Will be coming back. Keep it up.

This is, I guess, a sister restaurant to the one by the same name in San Mateo. I didn’t like this one as much, even though it has a lunch special menu and the San Mateo one does not. The food was not as well cooked, and the service is terrible: slow and oblivious. I had to corral a waiter to take my order. «Sorry! Sorry!» he said. Then I had to go up to the register when they lengthily didn’t get around to bringing my bill. «Sorry! Sorry!» the guy at the register said. This one is far closer to my home, but I’m far more likely to return to San Mateo.

The food is just ok, but the service is horrible. Actually, it is the WORST experience i’ve ever had in the bay area. We ordered dishes by phone and the menu did not say that dishes come with no rice. The waiter I talked to also did not ask if we want the rice. Even when I went to pick up the order, nobody there told me about this. We found out later after I was back home. When I come back to get the rice, the waiter seemed to be extremely impatient and looked like they don’t care about their customers at all. They also refused to take credit card for the extra rice. It’s not only a waste of my gas also a waste of my time. We’ll never order from this place again. Highly NOT recommended.

The worst and damn shit Chinese restaurant in Bay Area. Let me explain. Food is good, but the service is shit. When we tried to split the bill, we were told only one card was accepted. When I told them I did split once there, the waiter sneered at me. The we paid the bill of $ 54 and gave $ 6 tip. After we left the restaurant, another waiter ran at us and stopped us, told us that the tip must be 10% or above. At that time I even didn’t realize I had paid more than 10% tip. I argued that giving tip was the right of customers. The the waiter told me not to come again if we insisted in not paying more. That’s the story. I don’t care about 2 or 3 dollars tips, but I am sure they deserve negative tips. And as a Chinese, I feel extremely ashamed on them.

Nothing was good here, neither the food nor the service. Chili chicken was dry and not spicy at all and fried rice was just plain white rice with some traces of egg and veggies. Staff was unattentive too.

CZB used to be a pretty solid go-to in this area, but I’m not sure if there’s been a change of chefs, management, or ownership, because a recent experience wasn’t that good. What happened to the«little eats,» the small dishes that used to be in a self-serve island? And the specials on the wall? Seems like things have changed here since our last visit. Service was actually quite pleasant, but the food we ordered just didn’t taste good, although to be fair, we only ordered one dish that our waiter recommended. Out of what we did order, the Xiao Long Bao and Sichuan Spicy Beef Noodle Soup particularly disappointed. The meat in the XLB was overly salty and almost pasty, whereas what I expect is a burst of juice along with a little meaty center. And the«beef» in the noodle soup was mostly gristle, tendon and«stuff,» instead of meat. I don’t know what’s changed here, maybe it’s just a matter of ordering the right dishes. For now, it will probably be quite a while before we visit again.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I ordered: Sichuan style spicy wonton, Boiled fish fillets w flaming chili, Chongqing chili chicken, Eggplant in garlic sauce and Lamb cooked in iron pot with spicy sauce. The good: I enjoyed the eggplant. It had s little heat to counter its sweet side. The boiled fish fillets was good as well. It was firm enough that it didn’t fall apart but soft that you’re not fighting every bite. The chongqing chicken was cooked perfectly. The outside was crispy and the inside was not dried out. The only complaint I have is that this did not have the heat behind it I’m used to.(Hunan Chili closed and Da Sichuan in Palo Alto) The ok part: The wontons were not that good. It was not that spicy. It was moist but it felt like it was missing something. The lamb was good. My big issue with this dish was that there was barely any lamb in it. I’m going to go there again and see if I went on an off day. So that’s why I’m giving this place 3 stars for now.

Very genuine Szechuan food here in mountain view! The xin jiang spicy chicken with potato(大盘鸡), spicy fish with pepper(水煮鱼), boiled beef in chili soup(水煮牛肉) are must have for spicy nuts! The price is good in terms of the high quality and big portion of food. They have more small tables than big ones and big parking lot outside. FYI they only take one credit card at a time.

This is a casual Chinese place with great Sichuan specialties. The service isn’t as friendly as you’d like, but is prompt. If you’re Asian, be prepared to be talked to in Chinese even if you respond in English… We got: Boiled fish — absolutely yes to that fish fillet of unknown origin as long as it is boiled tender with lots of Sichuan peppers! Cumin short ribs — these fried short ribs are very cumin-ey but will have you come back for more! Yuxiang egg plants — or egg plants in garlic sauce. That was due to my desperate attempt at having more veges but… do these oil-soaked eggplants count as healthy? Honestly, I’ve had far better Yuxiang qiezi before; this rendition was too saturated with Yoshida-sauce-like flavors. Skip this one and don’t feel guilty about a vegeless dinner, is what I’d recommend. All in all, a great place for Sichuan food, but I’d stick to ordering Sichuan classics here.

I never rate a Chinese restaurant for service. Unless the service is great, then it’s definitely to be noted. I like this place! I come here every so often with the family, and most of the things I’ve had have been good. The favorites have been the chongqing la ji, salt and pepper fish, and the white fish soup with pickled vegetables. You can ask to adjust spiciness. Sometimes I refer to pictures on Unilocal to order, since I dont read Chinese haha. Ordered a thai tea this time and it tasted like it had gone bad, like sour milk. They were nice to cancel the order though.
