For me the best food at Ivars is the simplest food on the menu. When they try to get«sophisticated» with many flavors in a dish, often I have found it doesn’t work all that well. The cold smoked scallops on the seafood cob salad are amazing!(unfortunately there are only a couple of them on the salad though). Alder planked salmon is always a slam dunk as is any simple grilled fish dish. Prices have definitely gone up over the last few years, not really sure why the quality hasn’t changed to warrant any increase. The result of the price hike for us is we just don’t eat here as ofter as we used to or would be otherwise.

Had dinner here this evening to celebrate a birthday. Called an hour ahead for reservations without problems. Was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday. Good service and good food. My only small complaint is that the portions are a bit small. Spent $ 150 including tip and zero leftovers.

I’m not big on fried foods. I’m allergic to gluten and it’s all fried so I can’t eat there. So this is the reason for my low rating.

Went there a couple days ago for a birthday party. It was 3.5 stars at best. The location was great and attentive dining service but the food was a bit lacking. I will admit though, their famous clam chowder was yummy, and the complimentary rolls were awesome. The coconut prawns and calamari for apps were pretty good, BUT the oysters were a bit small and skimpy. And $ 25 for the Fried Northwest Platter was a joke. I had two tiny pieces of Alaskan Halibut(like, the size of my girlie thumb), 2 fried(small) prawns, one Alaskan Cod, a few fried surf clams and tons of french fries with ketchup, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce for dipping. Not gonna lie, I was slightly disappointed. I should’ve stuck with the apps and the chowder instead. And more booze. A lot more booze.

There’s not a lot of choices for quick food near the Ferry Dock since Diamond Knot took over the entire building near the park but if you’re looking for a quick snack anytime but summer walk up to the Ivar’s window and yell out what you want and someone will charge you for it and the cooks will cook it up. During the summer there’s a million people attempting to get ice-cream and fish(not together) so it may take a while. However, if you’re taking a ferry and have 20 minutes you still might be able to get an order in. As far as quality I’d put it above some of the other national food chain fish places like Skippers. It’s not Pike Street Fish fry by any means but it’s decent. I do enjoy a good clam chowder bowl from Ivar’s.

Disappointed… to me one of the worst things a restaurant can do is to run out of their New Year’s eve dinner specials. I was so looking forward to the lobster, which is what most people order on New Year’s Eve, and they had run out by 8 o’clock. That’s pretty bad. We are longtime patrons of Ivar’s and I was so disappointed that I did not get my New Year’s lobster.

Ivar’s rates up as one of my top restaurant choices right off due to the location. The Ivar’s at Mukilteo Landing is right on the water and overlooks the ferry dock. The restaurant is a typical Northwest seafood restaurant. The food is great quality and showcases the fantastic seafood out of the Northwest. I started with the Ivar’s Famous Clam Chowder, which is one of my favorite chowders. The chowder has a lot of bacon flavor and is creamy, but the bacon doesn’t overpower the clam either like some places do. I then had the Ivar’s Classic Louie for lunch with the Dungeness Crab. The highlight of this salad is of course the crab, which the restaurant doesn’t skimp on. My Mom had the Northwest Seafood Cobb Salad. I tried a bite of the salad and the blackened Coho salmon was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and I know she really liked it. I will try this salad the next time I’m at Ivar’s. Overall, Ivar’s is one of my favorite lunch restaurants. The service is usually always attentive and the location really can’t be beat because you can eat outside right on the water.

I had taste of the northwest which was 3oz salmon, 3oz halibut and a crab cake. Everything was fresh. The fish was a little bit over poked. Maybe because they wee small pieces. The crab cake had a lot of meat. The sauce was ok. The garlic mashed potato was very tasty. Hubby orders crusted crab halibut. It was topped with olive and grilled pepper and presto sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection. Very nice texture. I would recommend this dish.

Great seafood Restaurant! The calamari for starters was excellent! Their World famous New England Clam Chowder is very very good. The lil woman and I split the Northwest Seafood sauté with potato in the center of the bowl was phenomenal! Our server was excellent! Great evening. Out total bill for 8 people was $ 165. Highly recommend this place

Stopped here on a sunny fall day and it was a great place to stop and have a quick lunch and a beer. The location and setting is great and the food is also pretty good. Of course the chowder is great!

Consistently delicious for the 6 years we’ve been going now. The Lingcod on last nights fresh sheet was incredible, as was everything we had. Seafood cocktail to start with avocado was delicious and full of seafood. The blackened salmon Caesar is always on point. Seafood sauté was great too! Carefully prepared dishes, fish is never overcooked. My favorite place to relax and enjoy.

Can’t live in Seattle without eating at an Ivars at some point. This is perfectly located next to Mukilteo State Park and the ferry to Whidbey Island. The food is good and they open up the ice cream window in the summers for soft serve ice cream. Fish and chips run you $ 9 for 3 pieces. $ 10 for 4 pieces and $ 11 for 5 pieces. It’s fried so of course it’s good. They also have a few tables for indoor seating or a long bench out front. If you’re feeling a bit classier you can dine in at their restaurant next door.

As far as Ivars go this is one of the better ones. The service here is great and the food is what’s to be expected for this chain of restaurants. Better quality than most chains. The view here is one of my favorites as far as the Ivars locations go and I love the fact that they have a military discount.

I had made reservations for 5 people for my dad’s birthday on Saturday. We were seated in a giant booth. Ambiance of the restaurant was nice and it was really sunny so we had a nice view of the water. Our group started off with half a dozen of oysters and fried calamari. We really liked the calamari and it tasted really fresh! The oysters were definitely on the small size, pretty puny for the amount you pay. not sure if I would come back for any oysters from Ivar’s. Our entrees included prime rib, steak, the swordfish special, the lingcod, and a pasta. I loveddddd the lingcod! So flaky and savoury, yum! I could have skipped the swordfish. the description sounded really tasty but the fish was too chewy for me. The steaks and prime rib were good too. Overall, the meal was enjoyable and afterwards we walked by the water. It’s a great place for a romantic date or special occasion ;)

First time here for dinner. Great looking décor inside and awesome views of Puget Sound and the island. The service was attentive and friendly. I had checked out the menu online and there were plenty of Gluten free dishes. My wife and I started with the bacon wrapped scallops which were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The surf and turf was yummy with a juicy 6oz sirloin and Coho Salmon in a lemon sauce. Overall a great meal.

Definitely the best plate of seafood I’ve ever eaten. I got the Taste of the Northwest, which has halibut, salmon, and a crab cake with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This is what a real crab taste tastes like — primarily crab, with only a little bit of filler to keep it together. For an appetizer, I got the clam chowder. If it weren’t for me having Pike Place Chowder a couple days earlier, it’d probably be the best I had. The service was good, if a bit over-the-top with enthusiasm. All-in-all, a great experience.

I came here for Mother’s Day brunch yesterday, and was very pleased! We were promptly seated for our reservation, with the front desk staff being courteous and friendly. We were again promptly visited by our waitress. We had a choice of a fruit and Danish plate or sourdough rolls to start, as it was Mother’s Day. The table voted the Danish plate and I asked if I could have just one sourdough roll, and my wish was of course granted. The Danish and fruit plate came with perfectly ripe berries, melon, grapes and pineapple and seemed to be a crowd pleaser. The Danishes looked kind of tired and weren’t really sampled. I thoroughly enjoyed my warm sourdough roll with butter. I ordered the burger. It was divine. I give it top 3 burger!!! I added bacon. Duh. My dining partners stayed more surf to my turf, with halibut, seafood stew and salmon hash. All were very content with their choices, and most of the plates were clear. Thank you Ivar’s! Delish!

We were there looking to have a delicious salmon for dinner. The server was professional and attentive. As soon as you arrive your table they serve bread and butter. I ordered the Cedar Planked Wild Sockeye Salmon and it was delicious. I was a little concern about the conrbread pudding, but it was really good. The blackberry sauce is a great addition. I also tried the Apple Wood House-Smoked Coho Salmon that somebody else in my table ordered, but that one was not my favorite. We also ordered wine from Whidbey Island. The ambience is romantic and cozy. I will visit again.
