For inexpensive Mexican with good quality — I’m a fan! We’ve always had good service, the food tastes good, and it’s not as expensive as most others.

I find myself returning time and again to his cozy restaurant for their Coctel de Camarón, aka Shrimp Cocktail. I don’t know how they make it but I do know that the shrimp are good-sized and taste fresh, something amazing to me this far from the coast. The fresh-cooked shrimp come in a hearty tomato-based soup, for want of a better word. The«soup» also contains fresh tomatoes, avocado, and cilantro. The whole thing is served in a large glass similar to a giant margarita glass. It is accompanied by crackers and I usually ask for more packs than is served with the dish. You can order this dish hot or cold, which means the temperature of the dish and not the spiciness. It is mildly spicy, in a piquant way. I had a Negro Modelo with my dish and it was good. I am not sure what other beers they have. While its still warm, you have the choice of sitting outside under a covered patio. The restaurant is on Broad St near downtown, so the traffic can be heavy at times. Mucho Gusto!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Murfreesboro, for many reasons, not just the food. Fiesta Acapulco has really good seafood dishes, including a crab and shrimp chimichanga, which is hard to beat anywhere. Another favorite is the tacos carne asada, which they will actually make with cilantro and lime, just like La Hacienda in Nashville. If you go here often, you’re sure to become a favorite of the owner, and he’ll often come and chat with you and tell you why you shouldn’t be silly enough to order Corona and you should drink a «real» Mexican beer instead. We bonded over the World Cup a couple of years ago. I often just go with friends and split the nachos and a pitcher of margarita. The nachos will easily feed three people and they’re only about $ 7. It’s a great way for poor college students to hang out and not leave hungry. The margarita are good too and also reasonably priced. This isn’t the cheapest Mexican restaurant in town, but it’s not expensive, and keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
