Just rode by for dinner and lights were off and there was a huge for sale sign out front.

I started with a mango margarita and it was really good. The salsa was a little spicy which we liked. Guac was really fresh, made with cilantro, and very good. I ordered the fish tacos(3 for only $ 5.99!) on corn tortillas and added lettuce, cilantro, and lime to the fish and pico de gallo. They were really good! I added a small order of queso and put some on the tacos as well. Awesome. I really liked this place. Everything was reasonably priced and tasty. The only reason I deducted a star in my rating is because we ordered fried ice cream and it was basically just chewy corn flakes around ice cream.

Perfectly prepared margarita(strong)! Food was very good and being a Texan, I am hard to please when it comes to tex-mex. Salsa was a little weak for my taste but was quickly fixed using an old trick. Sal Y Limon offers a dish of Pico and a dish of chopped jalapenos for a very rerasonable price. These are mixed with the salsa to taste, and it kicks it up a BIG notch. Then the entire meal is really top drawer and VERY reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

I think this may be our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! The prices are great, portions are generous, and the margaritas… yum!!! Love sitting on the patio enjoying fajitas & ‘ritas! Service is really good, too!

Warm chips and homemade salsa seconds after sitting. Spicy. $ 3.99 for a 28 oz XX Amber. $ 3.25 margarita. TV’s. Parillas Mexicana is MEATACULAR — chorizo, shrimp, steak, chicken, Clientele– families with small kids, old dudes in bike shorts, local mullet head, Mexican family. Fast service. Wrasslin’ on TV. Forgot my phone on the table — they just left it there thinking maybe I was in the restroom. Came back 15 minutes later and it was still there — thankfully. Very solid performance.

I went to Sal Y Limon two weekends ago with a group of friends after Nashville Animé Day in Murfreesboro. We had plans of going to a recommended Mexican restaurant not too far from the hotel where the even was held that day. Sal Y Limon was a simple restaurant layout that accommodated all of us and left us with a good amount of great food. I ordered the Enchilada Dinner which I was surprised that I actually finished all of it in one sitting because there was a good amount of food on my plate. I’d definitely recommend it to all of my cash strapped friends who are looking for some good mexican food in Mufreesboro!

Every six months or so there is a Nashville Animé Day, and every six months my friends and I that I go with do a dinner afterwards. This, hands down, was the best one yet and the food was amazing. Seriously, finding good tex-mex in Middle Tennessee has become difficult in recent years with many places decreasing quality. This place however has restored my faith in the cheesy goodness that is good tex-mex and mexican cuisine. As always, for me, a mexican/tex-mex restaurant is only as good as its cheese based dishes and queso dip. Well, I got a bowl of cheese dip and a cheese enchilada platter and was blown away. I also had a bite of my fiancée’s chicken quessadilla and it was perfectly seasoned. The food here is So Good! I wish I could find a place in Nashville this good. To sum it up, this place was so good, I felt like I was back home in Texas eating at a good tex-mex/mexican restaurant.

Pros: Great prices, good food, friendly service Cons: only meat is chicken and beef, restrooms are unheated and changing table is only in the women’s restroom. Also, despite the friendly service, they never refilled our drinks. Not a single time. Also, the meat inside my burrito was ground beef like taco bell or something but the outside had delicious chunks of steak topping the burrito and also in the amazing mole sauce. PUTTHATINSIDETHEBURRITO! Hello! I would gladly pay more! This is a generous 4 stars. I would certainly eat here again, but I like Oscar’s Tacos better. They have Al Pastor!

We have been there twice and both times it was great! The salsa is the best in the area. Spicy and so good! The first time I ordered the mixed fajita’s and they were wonderful! The next time I got the shrimp chimichanga and hubby got the ground beef chimichanga. They were the best we have ever had. The shrimp was in bite size pieces and so fresh and yummy! Was so thrilled that they give you a small bowl of cheese dip with your chimichanga. The beans and rice are also very flavorful. Unlike so many other places. Everyone has always been so friendly to us when we go in there and the waiters are great! This is our new favorite place!

Yesterday was our second visit to Sal Y Limon. Get yourself a cup of coffee and have a seat, because there is too much to tell and this may become a lengthy read. First off, the salsa served with their chips is so flavorful — not just the average tomatoes, onions and cilantro stuff at so many restaurants. And a touch on the spicy(warm) side — a refreshing change from the average Mexican restaurant. If you don’t care for hot foods, though, you may find it a touch too spicy, though we LOVE it! We recalled the guacamole and the queso from our first visit and ordered both again. The guac is not foofie, just simple and fresh and delicious. The queso doesn’t have that«milky» flavor like it does everywhere else. It starts out a little runny(which you have to do with cheese), then gets thicker as it cools, of course. Eat it on the chips, on the beans(though they also come with cheese already on them), and on the chiles rellenos! There are lots of choices on the menu, and the food is ridiculously cheap. Lunch specials are $ 4.75 for a whole plate of delicious food! The hospitality of Octavio and his wife almost makes you feel like you’re dining in their home. If you’re lucky enough to get Rolanda as your server, you’re in for exceptional service with a great sense of humor mixed in. And when we ordered a monster and a regular marguerita, she was sweet enough to point out that a pitcher would save us money. To many in Tennessee, down-home cookin’ consists of fried chicken or hominy grits. But for me, growing up in the High Plains of Eastern New Mexico, Sal y Limon tasted just like home.

When two essential ingredients of a tequila shot are in the name of a restaurant… what’s not to love?! My boyfriend understands that the true way to my heart is through cheap Mexican food, so as we happened to be driving by Sal Y Limon on Sunday afternoon, he took a spontaneous turn for an impromptu lunch. The place appears to be somewhat new. Either that, or they take excellent care! It’s a good size with booths lining the walls and two large-party tables in the center of the dining room. I love the bright blue chairs and the festive lighting! And although it was far too cold to eat outside, Sal Y Limon has a great covered patio area which made me want to come back in the Summer and take advantage of their margarita specials: On Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 12pm-close they offer glasses at $ 3.25 and regular pitchers at $ 13.25(tax included). For lunch, we ordered a starter of guacamole that tasted like a mix cut with sour cream(but don’t be fooled — that didn’t stop us from devouring the entire bowl). After reading the other two Unilocal reviews, we decided to split a lunch order of the beef & chicken fajitas and they did not disappoint! The chicken and beef were both tender and tasty but not served in a cast iron skillet(for those of you who prefer their meat to be charred). I could’ve stood to have additional onions and peppers, but still — not greasy and the perfect portion between us — we were quite pleased! To top it all off, the staff was very friendly. An extra star for our attentive waitress with a hilarious sense of humor! Overall, not sure I would seek this place out(since I live in Davidson County and within a mile of my beloved Las Palmas) but if my tummy was rumbling on a drive through the ‘Boro, I’d definitely make a return visit to Sal Y Limon.

This is a fairly new Mexican restaurant to the Murfreesboro area. As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Americanized Mexican cuisine, this place has it going. BEERSPECIALATLUNCH: Wowza, Bud Light or Miller Light for only $ 1.50 during lunch. Served in an ice-cold frosted mug too. That’s cheaper than getting a soda. I’ve been there three times so far and they haven’t disappointed. The first and third times I went, I order mixed fajitas. Now, the portions weren’t necessarily huge, but the flavor was. I also loved how they used chicken strips instead of chunks and the seasoning was perfect. The plate came out sizzling and gave off such a wonderful aroma. The second visit involved me ordering the hot and spicy burrito. WOAHFLAVOR. Don’t let the name turn you off; the spice was perfect, but not overdone. The sauce covering the burrito was succulent and perfect for dipping chips. The chicken in the burrito was perfectly tender and seemed to melt in my mouth. Highly recommend you give this place a chance for lunch!
