Carolina pulled pork is amazing! We’ve only done take out so far, but are looking forward to dining in! Everyone is friendly, enthusiastic, and very helpful!

Wanted to try based on the reviews. Maybe it was an off night but the pulled pork was as dry as sand. The bun was barely toasted and crispy. The one saving grace was the beans but I didn’t come for beans. The waitress dropped our check off before we were halfway through eating and asked for dessert? Huh? I mean if you’re in that much of a hurry to get us out just say so. I might try this place again, but I think I’ll stick to my go BBQ, Martin’s in Nolensville.

Firstly, my family LOVES bbq. We just moved into town and, unfortunately, I had to sell my smoker as my new rental property doesn’t allow me to have one. Needless to say, I had to find a good bbq place. We saw this one around the neighborhood and I stopped in there for some takeout. I bought as much as three people could reasonably eat for lunch. 4 meats with 6 different sides.
The service was top notch. Helpful, friendly, courteous. I couldn’t have asked for more, except maybe to offer me a drink while I wait for my food to be prepared. I spoke to 3 different ladies that all made me feel very welcome, and clearly wanted to be sure I enjoyed my experience there. A good percentage of this 4 star rating is due to the service.
Unfortunately, the meats were lacking a little bit. I am a bbq man, so I tend to compare to what I make (or used to make *sniff*) at home. The smoked turkey was dry, and didn’t have much smoke flavor. The brisket was cooked well, slightly under seasoned, but carved with the grain, which made it difficult to eat. The baby back ribs were fall off the bone, with good sauce. The spare ribs were well seasoned with a dry rub, but seemed a bit old, like they had been cut long before I ordered them then reheated to order.
The sides were great, overall. The sweet potato fries were thick cut steak fries, perfectly seasoned. The baked sweet potato was probably baked not wrapped in foil and steamed like most «baked» potatoes are. The baked beans were given tons of flavor with shredded pork. The mac & cheese was nice and creamy. Green beans were just right.
Basically, if these guys took a bit more care with their meats and only served the freshest stuff, worked a bit on their seasoning, and were a little bit more careful about how and when the meats were cut for serving, they would certainly have a 5 star place. I will be back, because this is the closest I’ve seen to 5 star bbq in any restaurant around here. But I’m going to check out a few of the other places around here first.
Updated 07÷07÷15 (one month after initial review): Since first writing this review we’ve been back to Woody’s a handful of times, and I have to update this review. We’ve since tried the pulled pork sandwich, and the smoked wings, both of which are just «okay».
Unfortunately, it is now a 3 star review. On top of the few issues I found with our first visit, now I am unhappy to report that we have had some pretty poor consistency with our meals. One night we get plenty of Brisket with a brisket plate, the next night we get half as much. One night the brisket is cut across the grain, the next night it is cut with the grain. One night I get plenty of sweet potato fries, the next night I get a skimpy order.

Great food and service is off the chain the chicken wings is great and the ribs and the smoked chicken it’s all good.

Great little place. Good service. Good food. Friendly people. The waitress was talking about a certain side, one of our party said it sounded good so she brought him a sample to try. Like I said, great service!

I have been several times now. The food is great, especially the sky-​high pies! The serving staff is attentive. Prices are comparative to others of this caliber. I had the pulled pork sandwich this time. The meat was so juicy the bun fell apart, but I finished it up with a fork. The sweet tea is good, not too sweet.

I have eaten here twice now. I wanted to reserve comment until after I tried again. The first time I got The Taste of Woody’s combo. The smoked turkey was tasty. The chicken was okay, but all you taste is smoke. There are no other flavors. The sliced beef and pork was underwhelming. It was dry and lacking in flavor. The ribs that came with it were okay. Tender, good smoke flavor, but no rub or sauce flavor. The baked beans were good. The second time I ordered the Carolina pulled pork with baked beans and mashed potatoes. The sides were good. The pork was pretty good. The service is good, and the management seems to care if you like your food. I saw him asked most of the tables, but not me. I am hopeful it will get better. I want this place to be good. The prices are better than Jim & Nicks, but the food is not as good yet.

Best brisket in the state, excellent and the Carolina pulled pork was fab. Fresh food and nice servers. But the brisket is the star of the show.

New business so for the first month or so, they are going to have some growing pains and kinks to work out. With that being said, I have been back several times now and have been satisfied with the quality of food.
I have become a big fan of the Prime Rib Sandwich on lunch side of the menu and order it for dinner as well. I recommend asking for creamy horseradish as they make it fresh on the spot for you. Great food as agreed with everyone I have taken there. Be patient with the staff as they are working out the kinks.
