Over rated. The location is great. Don’t order fish. All frozen. Scallops and fries good. Shark bites no good.

Really good lunch. The seafood pasta was great and both kids completely ate everything on their plates. I’ll be back next time.

This was one of the higher quality restaurants we went to in Myrtle Beach. The food was above average. I had the ribeye and my husband had the seafood platter. Food was perfectly prepared. Not overcooked in either case. Kids food was a step above average kids food, which was nice. The location and view was awesome. Definitely worth a little extra money when you are tired of the same old Myrtle Beach menus.

Service was excellent and the food was very good. Steak wasn’t on par with a high end steak restaurant but everything else ordered was excellent.

Service was top-notch — our drinks never went empty. The food was good and happy hour prices can’t be beat. We ordered apps off of the happy hour menu and enjoyed the wings and shrimp. The shrimp in bang bang sauce was good, we also had the shrimp in the Thai chili sauce which was amazing. Very impressed with the wait staff/bartenders — attention to detail and a definite attitude toward pleasing the customer. Thumbs up! P. s. The views from Pier 14 are gorgeous in both directions!

I have to say that the atmosphere is one of teh best I got The opportunity to enjoy(our table was outside on the pier). Thay have one of the best Piña colada I have ever had! The food is ok(not the best, but definitely not that bad) and the service …(smh). We were in the back of the pier(whoever has that table Wednesday May 11th at 09Pm). It was a brunette who has her braided hair on the side. I could say she was all over the place, but the truth is she was almost NEVER there. And it was not because most of her tables were full. Actually most of her tables were empty. And I remember that because she never came back to empty them and another guy had to come each time and do it for her. And she will run back to him every time when he is almost done and will say the same exact thing:“OMG I’m so sorry you had to do it again”. And he will nicely responded that it was ok and he didn’t mind(Duh!!! He wants to get done quickly and go home!!!) We left pretty late and most of her colleagues were cleaning there tables and putting everything on place. My server? She was MIA. we waited and waited and waited every time we needed her. I looked around if maybe that was the restaurant way of doing things, but all other servers were doing THEIRJOBS. At some point someone had to call her for us, and guess where she was? Sitting at the table talking with some dinners. She was nice, but sorry she is not waitress material. Maybe sales associate? They have a nice personality too. she should look into that(or something else) or change the way she works. The 3 points I am giving are only for the Piña colada and the view. I thought about giving 2 but she is not worth it. The restaurant by itself is great.

Found a new favorite to add to our list at the beach! We walked down to the pier(about a mile from our hotel) and sat outside to eat. Beautiful view of the ocean. Peach cocktail was delicious, and the crustacean chicken and scallops were amazing. Also ordered calimari, which was a good portion and perfectly fried. Loved it and will visit every year!

So I can only write a review based on one dining experience during the lunch hour during off season :) 5⁄5 stars! This place was awesome. It’s neat on the inside, has an outdoor seating area, and you can see the pier and ocean from the restaurant. We were sat right away and had the crab legs, clam chowder, and fish and chips. Delicious!!! We all shared with each other. The crab legs were perfection, steamed just right and served with the best garlic mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. I’m sure the quality can vary depending on how busy this place gets, but for lunch during the off season it was absolutely perfect. Parking is terrible, so be prepared to pay unless you walk here(I always stay around 70th so walking is definitely not an option). But the food is worth paying to park!!!

I was disappointed in my dining experience at Pier 14. A friend recommended it, and we bypassed quite a few other restaurants to get there. We wanted to eat on the deck, but there was a 30-minute wait, we were hungry/thirsty and decided to dine inside instead. I wanted to order crab legs or scallops as an entrée, but both dishes were so freaking expensive(over $ 29), that I decided to get the fried flounder. It was ok, but kinda was just a step up from eating frozen fish sticks in my opinion. Not that memorable. I also had the loaded baked potato, but I guess nothing else came with the meal. At least I didn’t receive anything else. No cole slaw or hush puppies which would have helped how I felt about spending $ 20 plus on a mediocre food experience. Our waitress was quite friendly, and kept us informed of when our food would be coming out, but she wasn’t exactly accurate. A few more minutes turned into about 30 more minutes for the food to finally come out. I think people come here for the scenery more than anything as I know there are better seafood dining experience to be had in Myrtle Beach.

Our second visit to Pier 14. We had to come again this year for the great crab legs. Messy to be sure, but seriously fabulous. A pound of crab legs and a baked potato for $ 19.99 at lunch. Great service from Kevin as well.

Ordered the chicken crustacean and it was great. Atmosphere was on the quiet side & comfy. The ocean views were pretty cool to look at during dinner. If you want a great dinner over the ocean, this is your place.

Late lunch here… Host was friendly and tried to be helpful, though he pretty much handed me off to the Bermuda Triangle of standing around in the bar area hoping for service. Place was fairly empty(understandable since it was a fairly cold, grey spring day), but service was still pretty ‘When I get to it’. Stood at the bar for 10 min, overhearing all of the server-customer interactions nearby, before anyone said a word to me(though to be clear, no one was behind the bar at all)…Once I ordered, it only took about 10 min to get fresh food and be on my way(which I think is a pretty impressive post-order timeline — good on them). Fries are seasoned, which is good. And salty. Which could be halved and fries would taste better. Coleslaw isn’t bad. No, seriously. It is better than the usual mayo-gloppy yuck. What I was served was crisp and ok. Could have used more seasoning, but it was, at least, fresh and crunchy. Breading for fish, shrimp, and scallops is seasoned, lighter than you often find, and tasty. All shrimp received were not deveined properly. House white fish is prepped really thin — by the time it’s cooked & served, even if it just waits for a minute or two before service, it’s overcooked and chewy. Chewy fish is pretty yuck in my book, which, if only considering this place, is titled, «Chewy Fish I Hope to Never be Served Again.» Spent 26 $. **Though I don’t usually review this sort of spot after one visit, I’m doing so to document the impact of one fairly off-grid tourist, traveling without family, just to make an HB2 related point**

Great seafood, menu selection and wine list. Not too pricey for lunch time, but we opted to save this stop for lunch, instead of the more expensive dinner. This restaurant is as good as it gets in Myrtle Beach, for fine dining. During the day, you get the beautiful views of the ocean over the pier. We started with the spicy fried shrimp app. Excellent! Huge shrimp, lightly breaded with a spicy mayo-based sauce. I ordered a seafood Alfredo pasta, and asked for it to be made spicy and add mushrooms. The waiter was great. The order got messed up but he bent over backwards to correct it and quickly. We had a great meal and will surely visit again when in town.

Nice views, solid food, good service, smack downtown Myrtle Beach with a view of the big wheel. Fish on the pier during the day, come back to drink and eat at night!

If you’re looking for luxury dining along the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach, I don’t believe there is any. But if you want to sit on a restaurant built on top of the water, then Pier 14 is the place for you! I will admit that is the number one reason I wanted to eat here — the novelty of it. I didn’t see any other place with any rating higher than 3.5 stars in the same location, so figured this would be as good as it gets. And it was alright. Hubby and I started with a couple of decent pina coladas and an order of hush puppies to share. And two tubs of honey butter to dip them in. Not saying it was wrong, I’m just saying they give you butter as a dipping sauce. Kind of made us laugh. We had a nice table facing the ocean, which we very much enjoyed. Service was good. It wasn’t very crowded inside, but it was kind of late lunch/early dinner hours so perhaps it was their slow period. For my entrée, I opted for the fish n chips. They were pretty tasty. The fish was very flaky and moist. Tarter sauce was good. So were the fries. Nothing to complain about at all. I liked it. Hubby got the Surf & Turf which was a lobster tail and ribeye, served with a baked potato. He said everything was fresh and cooked very well. No higher praise than that, I’d say. So no, this was not a fine dining experience. But it certainly wasn’t bad. It was an above average meal in a great location with a great view. We’d go back if we were locals, and we’d definitely recommend to others.

The broiled grouper was delicious and the view was not too bad. Sitting inside by the pier you see don’t see as much ocean as if you are on the sides, so ask for the table you prefer. The food was decent but not outstanding, but the server was great. This is a good option if you are nearby.

I had the Fish n’ Chips, they were good. The tarter sauce was just ok. It tasted pretty much like mayo. I like tarter sauce that has a stronger dill and spice flavor. I also ordered a Long Beach Ice Tea. It wasn’t too weak and tastes good. Our server was a guy named Ben. He was very nice, attentive, and he was good with my son. I wanted some coconut shrimp and they didn’t have any. Overall, it was a good experience. I’d come back.

The location is great and the patio is scenic. My date and I had the calamari and fried white fish appetizer and shared the surf and turf. The calamari was great but the white fish had a weird aftertaste. The steak was perfectly cooked but the lobster seemed rubbery and bland. The loaded baked potato was awesome, generous portion of bacon and cheese. My date had a glass of red wine and the pour was generous. I had a margarita on the rocks(i requested on the rocks the menu only offers frozen) and was not impressed. The service was slower than most restaurants, it was obvious that the server had most of the tables around us. Overall the view was great but nothing about the meal stood out.

5 stars, hands down. This place is legit, im so glad we decided to go back and try it for dinner(the first time we went, it was just for a drink and to check out the pier). Everything about this place is phenomenal — the setting, the service, and of course, most importantly, the food. Let me start by suggesting a table on the deck(well, duh. youre eating dinner at a restaurant built on a pier. But believe it or not, people were actually waiting for a table inside. what?). The view is breathtaking. You cant ask for a better setting to enjoy dinner, especially if youre looking for that vacationy, beachy feel(and who isnt, am I right?). My next suggestion will be to order the scallops as your meal. if you enjoy seafood, PLEASE order the scallops. They were, without question, the most ridiculous scallops I’ve ever had. We also had the key lime pie for desert, and, without going overly crazy about a peice of key lime pie, im going to tell you that, it too was re-freaking-diculous. ‘Nough said, I think. Alex was our server and he was awesome. He was quiet, but super attentive and thorough, without being obnoxious or over bearing. He was great, and he honestly made our experience there, without even trying. One thing I will warn you of — be prepared to wait at the bathroom(ladies, you know what I’m talking about). There are 2 stalls and 1 sink, so it can get pretty crammed in there. and out the door. and into the waiting area. I wasnt sure if the host was taking names for tables or bathroom stalls. Regardless, I’m totally willing to over look the awkward bathroom situation, and will plan on just holding it next time. because yes, there will be a next time at Pier 14.

Pier 14 holds a special place in my heart. I grew up coming here on vacation. A great place for drinks day or night. The food is good and comes out quickly. The patio seating is the best. Nice and cool on a hot summer day. They do have a new menu this year and I miss the turkey club!!! I tried to replace it with the Cajun grouper Ruben, or whatever it was called, I do not suggest that lunch option. The flavors do not work together. Overall, this place has a great beach atmosphere and you can fish off the pier!

Das Essen(Fisch) war lecker. Man sollte einfach nichts fritiertes bestellen und die Saucen, die separat serviert werden, weglassen, damit man die feinen Meeresfrüchte auch schmecken kann ;-)
