Just don’t bother.
The food isn’t great, almost *resembles* Bessenger’s BBQ in west ashley, but it’s not fresh, and nowhere near as good. Obviously the owners and employees really don’t care about this place.
The food is overpriced and the inside is just like the other customer posted– it’s a dump. The employees have never been friendly to me either. I’ve been there 4 times in the past 10 years, because I live nearby. I guess I kept hoping it would get better, but that hasn’t been the case. I have no idea how they stay open.

Oh boy… this was REAL bad. If you wanna save time, the moral of this story will be «don’t eat here.» First of all we came in at like 8:20 and apparently they close at 8:30. They were pretty rude I guess because of that. Second, the place was kind of a dump. However, neither of these reasons are why it was bad, because if someone’s food is so good that they can stay open in spite of bad atmosphere and rude workers… I want to eat there. This was not the case at Robert’s. I had read that they didn’t have real BBQ and I figured that was just some Texan throwing out the olé «Texas BBQ is the only BBQ.» I was wrong again. My wife wanted beef, so she got the BBQ beef plate. I wanted chicken, however they dont have BBQ chicken. That’s right. No BBQ chicken in a BBQ restaurant. They had a grilled chicken sandwich, so I ordered that (don’t judge me… I just like chicken) and some onion rings. The onion rings had a half an inch of breading that reminded me of funnel except funnel cake is delicious and this sucked. The chicken was petite at best and was basically a plain chicken breast that they threw in a pan then covered with half a jar of mayo before placing it between a bun they had just dropped in dishwater. The beef appeared sketchy at best, smelled kind of weird, and was covered in a mustard BBQ sauce that didn’t look much different than my nephews diapers on a bad day. The beef was accompanied by a large mound of an unidentified substance that had small flecks of meat in it. Still not sure what this was, but from my wife’s gagging face I presumed it was not edible. The baked beans were tolerable enough that she could eat them, but she assured me they were not «good.» However, did add the sweet tea was great. For the first time in my life, we actually pretty much threw the food away and went to get milkshakes at Sonic. It’s funny that as we were walking in i said to my wife «Weird. I don’t smell BBQ.» Unless you are just thirsty for sweet tea, avoid this place at all costs.
