Decent wine, horrific service. My wife and I walked in around 6 and it was a ghost town. After we sat down and ordered a pair of flights we were basically ignored for about ten minutes per pour as the server talked to a friend at the bar and a couple of other gentleman that walked in after us that also sat at the bar. I had to get up and ask for our check after another 15 minutes of sitting without any service. Overall disappointing experience for our first time in Napa.

Good wine! Friendly host. Overall, this is a great option to do some wine tasting in Napa if you are there for the day and didn’t plan ahead to do a wine tasting at a vineyard.

One of the best tasting rooms in Napa. Thanks John! We love all their wines, especially their Syrah and Cabernet.

My friends, husband and I stopped in here after dinner at Tarla. It was nice and quiet. We sat on the comfy couch with the two big chairs. I had a glass of the Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc. It was so good I bought a bottle of it. Will definitely be back the next time I am in Napa.

Some places just get it right! John Anthony is one of those places. Great hospitality, beautiful vineyard and amazing wines

John Anthony has the most amazing wine. I’m obsessed with it to the point where I even ordered a case and had it shipped to the house.

Don’t let the wine bar approach prevent you from tasting some of the best wines in Napa Valley. The tasting room was recommended by a co-worker who also helped arrange a VIP tasting. Glad she did as I doubt we would have stopped here otherwise. Our tasting appointment was at 5pm on a Wednesday so we had plenty of 1-on-1 time with Ashlei our hostess before additional customers started to show. Unfortunately, we had such a good time savoring the wines and talking with Ashlei that we forgot to take notes on the different wines. Fortunately, we will be receiving numerous wines for future«tastings» at home. We did get a chance to sample their 2006 Reserve. Yummmmm… but a little out of our price range. :-)

Came in at 530 on a Sat and Ashlei was the ultimate hostess! The furniture, syrah and music selection made our experience top notch.

Right beside our hotel and the best wine we tasted all day. Church Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. John Arrambide will take care of you.

Best wine I had in Napa! Our server was very knowledgable. I had the red flight and was excellent. We also ordered the cheese and meat platter. The seating was cute and they even had a TV with the Golden state game on.

Dropped in at 10:30am on a Monday morning to do a tasting. It was empty except for our host. Split the Napa Valley($ 15) and West End($ 25) flights. Sipped our wines, chatted it up, then took off to explore the rest of Napa. I’ve only been to two tasting rooms, and this was my first, but this will be the experience I compare future wine tasting experiences to. Pros: great wine, nice décor, accessible and unpretentious, and Mackenzie, who was an amazing host. Tips: if you like quiet, intimate events, go around the time we did(it was empty). Ask staff if they have deal tickets to other venues. See if staff will tell you where to park(there may just be an all day, free, parking lot somewhere close ;) otherwise it’s move your car every 2 – 3 hours).

EXPENSIVE tastings, the pours are not even enough to ‘wet your whistle’. I will say the reds are decent, but I definitly could not afford any that I liked as they were on the upside of $ 100 a bottle. I guess I have expensive taste.

It was nice to find a place that’s open late for wine tasting if you want to continue the fun after wine tasting during the day! this place was very bear inside almost like an art gallery. It was very clean including the bathrooms. The server was very animated and he definitely was generous/patient. I paid extra for the red wine tastings.

Great wines, great atmosphere, and outstanding service! Located right on the main drag in downtown Napa, this is a neat stop that is easily accessible — no reservations required!(On that note though, I’m not sure if they require reservations for larger bookings). Minimalist décor — comfy couches, bar, cocktail tables — take your pick. The tasting room is not your traditional winery tasting room, but rather set up to look like a lounge, which would make it a great spot for a late night glass of wine! The wines? Fantastic(the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc & Syrah were my favorites), and our host — Kenzie — was extremely knowledgable and friendly, and made for a very pleasant visit. Definitely will be stopping here again next time I’m in downtown Napa!

Unilocal find! Yes…went to Napa just to say I’ve finally been to Napa. No, I didn’t visit any wineries but did visit Main Street Napa(which was okay). As we walked around for a bit and ate, I Unilocaled wine tasting and John Anthony(JA as I will call it), popped up. High ratings and reviews and opened late on a Sunday(1000pm). Score!!! I had my son with me and they cute lady who helped us with the wine tasting said it was no problem for him to join us inside(but not for wines of course). JA was awesome. The interior was nice, the service was awesome(I didn’t catch the gal’s name but she was working Sunday night, 2⁄15), the wines were good and I think the wine tasting flights were affordable as well. $ 15 for 3 flights and more if you do the other samplings. I ended up getting a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc after the tasting so they comp’ed the wine tasting and I just paid for the bottle(I think that’s typical when you wine taste). All in all a great time for me even though we never made it out to a winery. The service is legit here as well as the wine. Check it out! Sitting in downtown Napa, this is a different experience– different but not bad. We actually really enjoyed the wines here which we had with cheeses, salumis, nuts, etc.(pricey but good). We weren’t so impressed with the service, and they kinda nickled-and-dimed us, but they made up for it with some really decent reds. If you’re in the area, yeah try it…

Fun tasting. Knowledgeable somm named John who was down to earth, but willing to entertain my curiosity with a number of pours. The interior design was absolutely gorgeous and modern. Pours were solid, and were single vineyard as designated. I will definitely be back to this tasting room.

Great service and even better wine… Did you think that was possible? I shared a Napa Valley tasting: 2 whites and a red. It was a perfect tasting for $ 15(no waived tasting fees with purchase, but some reasonably priced wines that help offset this fact.) I recommend buying the off menu Butter(Chardonnay), Jam(red) and Toast(Champagne) if looking for a creative gift. I personally got the Lloyd Chardonnay, Butter Chardonnay and the Napa Valley Cab.

This place is pretty awesome and I would have to agree with the reviewer that said it is hard to walk away without making a purchase. I love the atmosphere of this little wine bar because it entirely embodies what I think when I think of Napa. It’s clean, modern, sleek inside, and open late which is rare in Napa downtown area. They often run groupons or other deals so you should definitely check it out. The tasting is excellent and their wines are exceptional. They also provide snacks but I came after dinner so didn’t really want to eat anymore. Their bottles tend to be quite pricey, but totally worth it.

This is a great tasting room located next door to the Andaz [where we were staying]. We wanted to do a tasting before dinner so we walked on over and loved it. I had a glass of their Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc cause I wanted something sweeter and it was perfect! Everyone else had their red tasting. Loved their glasses. It’s definitely a nice stop before you go out and so conveniently located to where we were!
