Don’t buy anything here. They don’t know how to do take off. Got way too much lumber for a home we built! Then returning the left over was a nightmare. I have yet to see any refund for the returns we made on top of it. They screwed up my, windows doors you babe it this place has a bunch of idiots working there.

I really wavered between 1 and 2 stars here, but I’m just going to go with one for being bad at their jobs. I ordered two kitchen cabinets here, and paid about $ 100 to have them delivered to my home, no joke, about a mile and a half away. The cabinets came on a very snowy Friday, and as it turns out, because I was so close, they called and asked, can we deliver very early? Yeah — sure, means I don’t have to wait around the house all day long or be interrupted in the middle of the day. So they showed up about 6:45, since I was their first delivery of the day. One guy. In a truck without a rear lift. Oh, and«we don’t do stairs.» So, first off, how was one guy planning to do this? Drive by with the back open and push em out without stopping? What if you delivered these to my grandmother, who isn’t willing to help you haul them up the stairs? And… you don’t do stairs? Son, this area is FILLED with townhomes. Not a single one of them doesn’t have stairs. Fortunately, I was able to bribe the delivery guy to help me at least get them up to the kitchen. And to be clear, I don’t think it was his fault. He was cool, and took pity on me. So it’s not his one star, it’s 84’s one star for now knowing how to ask questions. If only the guy who originally sold me the cabinets had thought… to ask… if there were stairs. So I’d have known to plan otherwise, and so it wouldn’t have cost me another $ 50 to get the things in to the house.

A true lumberyard, customer service is what they are all about. If you need lumber, siding, doors, windows, or millwork, they are your one stop shop. Highly recommended.

I purchased windows, interior doors, and an entry door from Ted at 84. I can be particular and demanding. I nit picked him to death over all the little details of the doors and windows and Ted was always cool, helpful, and responsive. They had the best prices of all the lumber yards I called in the Chicagoland area. They beat one lumber yard by almost $ 300 for the same model Simpson entry door. Not too mention the sales tax in DuPage is lower than in Cook. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with 84. I highly recommend them.
