The food wasn’t bad however the attitude of the servers and waitstaff was beyond terrible. If I had more time on the island I would happily sit out front with a sign urging the general public to boycott the restaurant for their lack of gender equality. It was not just the message that was delivered but the condescending tone in which said message was delivered by the staff. Carmines should be embarrassed to call this restaurant part of their chain.

I visited Carmines on Saturday February 6th, 2016 and was not impressed by any means. The food was mediocre and not your traditional«Italian» cuisine; which I can understand to a certain degree because we are not in Italy. With that being said, I had a certain expectation of the quality of the food given the reviews for the NYC were great — I was disappointed. The food lacked flavor, authenticity and was just too much. We started with the caesar salad, it was okay, but it could have easily been shared with 6 adults. For our main course we had the chicken parmigiana and penne; the chicken was far too chewy and had a ridiculous amount of cheese on top, I think if it had less cheese and a bit more sauce it would have been more enjoyable — but perhaps that is just personal preference. The«family style» concept was taken to a whole other level and I can only imagine how much food goes to waste. Quantity does not equal quality at all. If you are going to Carmine’s with the expectation to have a traditional Italian meal, I would recommend thinking twice about Carmines’s. Perhaps take a taxi and try one of the traditional Bahamian restaurant. I will say that the restaurant itself was beautiful and the staff were great; very police, professional and accommodating. But it was just too much food that was just not good.

It is a family restaurant indeed. Even one dish is definitely enough for the two of us. And we ordered two dishes!!! The food taste is average.

I have been to several different Carmine’s…I really love their food. This location was no different… food was awesome, our server was great. We had 4 adults and 3 kids. Ordered chicken parm, chicken scallopine with angel hair, meatballs and a salad. So much food! For dessert we had chocolate cannolis and strawberry shortcake. To be honest, i was not crazy about either. We wanted to go back again once more before we left, but it was closed on Sunday which I found kinda odd since it is on a resort.

Pros: Fast seating with no reservation; relatively quick service; generous portions. Cons: Inattentive, unfriendly servers; mediocre food quality and taste; bad value. I have been unimpressed by the service at the Atlantis Resort in general and this place only left me even more disappointed.

Probably one of the best restaurants on the island. The restaurant serves family style which means that the portion is meant to be shared, such as spaghetti and meatballs which fed 3 kids we had with us and had enough to feed a couple of adults, or a 38oz porterhouse, which is pretty decent for 3 adults. As far as prices go this is probably one of the more reasonably priced restaurants on the island unlike most other places since the family style service the prices don’t bite as badly, though it’s not your fancy place like NOBU or Olives. Overall we were pretty happy with both food which is great all over and service which is not subpar like some other places we’ve been. The only reason for 4 stars was that the porterhouse was slightly overdone but it didn’t ruin it.

This place is fantastic. We ate at the bar and split the egg plant appetizer between the two of us. It was delicious, perfect, and the service was excellent.

To be fair, this was my first visit to any Carmine’s. I was with a group that has been to many. But honestly if they had not told me it was a chain, we would have figured it out with our first bite. We ordered meatballs, chicken parm, a chicken dish with prosciutto/cheese and spaghetti bolognese. The meatballs were really good although the sodium is off the charts(everyone’s hands and feet were swollen within minutes) chicken parm was a bit tough but overall ok I guess. We ordered la crème Pinot noir and each bottle 60. Not worth it Service was fine but don’t try and split the check because it took 45 min for us to get that all finalized with the server. However they did bring out a dessert for 16.00 for our birthday girl. They sonny have candles so instead we also bought her a 15.00 shot and they lit they on fire !! Lol. Creative The ambiance of just walking there was awesome. Go early so you can take in the shops and beautiful yachts !

HUGE portions. Three types of cold bread, good dipping sauce. We had the salmon(20oz.) and it was delicious but your teeth feel very gritty afterwards. Had to take half of it Togo but the entire thing broke through the paper bag, because it was not tightly secured. Unfortunate.

Large portions. Taste good. For a family of four you need only two entrees. I saw one family just get one and have enough. We had the Dingy for desert which is half of the Titanic. It was good but to much whip cream.

The food was good, the portion sizes beyond extreme and the service, while very friendly was inattentive and slow. The garlic bread was amazing, shrimp scampie was good and the lasagna was good but not great. Overall a nice dinner while on vacation.

I have to agree with a previous posting, the good, the bad and the ugly. The calamari was good and the portion was huge, but it should be if it cost $ 50. The rest of our meal also tasted great. The bad, I will have to say the waitress wasn’t too friendly or helpful. On our menu it said that the waitress will help us get the right portion amount for the number of people we have… Not true. We are staying at a hotel, so there was no way of taking any food back. The ugly, we had 2 sprites with refill and 2 waters. They charge for 4 drinks($ 14), I guess refills are not included but later I noticed that they also charge for nonalcoholic drinks($ 14)!!! I wouldn’t have notice this if I hadn’t ask for a copy of the receipt. This meal included 1 appetizer, 2 drinks, and 2 main course and cost over $ 200 with a force gratuity of 15%. I know that the Bahamas is a tourist place, but do they really have to completely break us for coming.

If you have ever been to the one in New York City… Don’t expect the same but is it good and a ton of food! We went for dinner(2 adults and 2 kids) and while it was a little on the expensive side I would also say one of the best meals we had while here. The food is served family style so I would recommend getting a few dishes and sharing because the 4 of us shared the Garlic and Olive oil angel hair pasta with a side of meat balls(6HUGE meatballs) and we didn’t finish it. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the food but it would have made your moth water. The atmosphere was great too! The wait staff was definitely not on island time and seemed attentive, which was not like we encountered anywhere else while on the island. Remember everything you do has the 7% VATAND the 15% gratuity automatically added… it adds up quickly.

Yes this is the same Carmine’s that is in NYC, however don’t anticipate the same experience, so this is probably lower than a full 3 star rating. You can expect the same menu and the huge family sized portions, but don’t expect the same standards. We started out with a salad, which tasted good, but after a few bites I started to get something crunchy. The I heard a few others say the same thing; we think there was sand in the salad, how does that happen? The calamari was good; fried well. The cut up lemon served along side it, still had the produce stickers on them. The pasta and chicken entrees were very tasty and luckily we didn’t have any issues with them. The servers were OK, but very lackadaisical. It was very busy so reservations would be recommended. Something to note, they can accommodate large groups, however if your group is too large(16+) they will charge you a fixed rate of $ 89 per person; which is ludicrous. With all we ate we ended up spending $ 35 per person so beware if you have a large group. You can get some good food, but they need to take up their attention to detail up a notch and maybe they can get to the same level as the NYC location.

HUGE portions! One order could easily feed 4 people. Ideal place for families and large groups. Nice atmosphere — can take kids if you go early. In the marina village.

The good, the bad, and the ugly… First off — the good. The calamari here are the absolute best I have ever, ever had in my life. Huge(probably endangered) squid flash fried to perfection abound on this platter(and for $ 50 bucks for an appetizer, they should be awesome!) Food tastes quite nice; it’s just not a reasonable value. The bad — I am sure that if you bring your entire family of 45 to this restaurant you will get your money’s worth! Otherwise, it’s a total ripoff! I do not like that this restaurant refuses to offer different portions based upon the number of people in your party. They should at least have two size options — 1 for couples, and 1 for a party of 4. If you wanted more, you could order more! I was with two other adults and we ordered the veal saltimbocca(which was quite tasty) but it could have fed 2 – 3 times as many people as we had with us. I felt embarrassed as we ate, since I am sure that many people in the area would have been able to feed their families for a week on the amount of food they served us! Although we boxed everything up and took it back to our rooms, I saw people just leaving piles of food on the table — wastefulness is not chic. Remember Marie Antoinette? The ugly — So, if the portions here don’t kill you, the bill will. Exorbitantly priced food!!! I have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants for less! I think that the pricing here is on par with everything else about Atlantis — overpriced. Again, I think if there were two tiers of food that were more competitively priced, I would have actually liked the Carmine’s experience, rather than leave feeling as if the Mafia had«made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.»

I am a big fan of this place, it’s one of the best dinning options on Paradise Island. What seemed weird to me is that nearly all restaurants at Bahamas open at 5 or 6 o’clock. As an European girl I’m used to eating my dinner at least an hour before that. So the first time me and my friends stumbled upon this place we were really famished. We took one of the tables outside(which soon became«our spot») and concentrated on the menu. Carmine’s offer a wide range of different dishes — from salads and seafood as starters to pastas, chicken, veil, beef and steaks as main. We were served a portion of a fresh pizza bread, which was delicious and we finished it within seconds(and wanted more: D). What you have to know about this place is that it’s a «family portions» type of establishment. So if you want to share a meal with a group of friends or family it’s the place for you, but if there’s only two of you a lot of food would be wasted. The waiter will walk you through the menu, explaining just for how many people each dish is prepared. As for staff, there was one waiter that was simply rude and her tone of voice strongly suggested that she had better things to do, otherwise very pleasant people. During our stay we managed to try: — Cesar salad(for six) — we ordered it every time, as it was light and the dressing was delicious — seafood plate(for six) — very good calamari — pasta with tomato sauce(for four) — nothing above average, but still tasty — cheese ravioli(for three) — I do not understand why the cheese was kind of sweet, I would prefer normal one, but still good — chicken with mushroom and wine sauce(for three or four) — mmm… that was like 9⁄10 — some kind of steak(for three) — really good, and sauce was extraordinary — very good spinach — lots and lots of wine and drinks Sadly we always had our bellies full before dessert, so we didn’t try anything. We used to spend long hours there drinking and talking and nobady rushed us. Therefore, I have really fond memories of Carmine’s and would gladly remomend it.

Excellent meal and lots of it. Wish they had smaller serving size for just 2 people. We are taking the leftovers back to the condo and hope we have a chance to finish them. It would be a waste. Also, I would suggest a later meal time. We were here at. 5:30 and there quite a few kids and a lot if them were tired and cranky.

Great dinner spot if you’re looking to share a meal with your partner, friends, or family. The table bread was delicious and we finished it within minutes. My husband and I shared an order cheese ravioli which was more than plenty for two people(15 raviolis total, which were good sized). We maybe ate 10 of them and had leftovers. We did find the service was relatively slow in terms of taking our order and coming back with the bills, which seems to be a common theme among all of the Atlantis restaurants even when they’re not that busy. Otherwise, I’d say 4 out of 5 stars.
