I am so sorry; I wrote my previous review for a restaurant with the same name in RICHMOND, Virginia. I have no idea how I accidentally left it here, on a great restaurant.

Farmers Table is a staple in our rotation of date night restaurants. The bottles of wine are good and yet affordable. The staff is personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Moreover, the open kitchen adds a nice touch.

My wife and I have been going here since they opened and were in a far smaller location across the street. Wonderful service, wonderful food and wonderful ambiance. Could not speak any higher about Farmers Table!

Fresh food, delicious tasting and the service is excellent. The portions are large and nicely presented. They accommodate your orders so that you can get exactly what you want. The vegetables taste like they’re fresh from the garden.

Love this place. Warm and cozy and the staff is super pleasant and attentive. Food is also outstanding. Recently had the $ 12 burger(an amazing value) and lamb chops on special which were out of this world. You won’t be disappointed.

Just yum, what delicious, fresh cooking. Even the bread is so well-made! I look forward to seeing the specials of the week; my mom and I often sample the seasonal sangria – apple cider cinnamon for the fall! My favorite starter is the quinoa salad. Although, you really can’t go wrong with any of their fish dishes or the shrimp mojo. The portions are so balanced and everything is perfectly seasoned. Hands-down one of my top picks in New Canaan.

When the weather is perfect, outside seating is a must. They don’t take reservation for outside seating though, it’s first comes first served. We got lucky and landed a table for 6PM dinner on a Friday. The place is quaint, situated next to a small street. perfect for people and cars watching. Food selections on the menu isn’t large, but everything sounds delicious. I started with a cup of roasted corn soup and ended up with their special; scallops with mojo sauce served with wild rice pilaf and a side of perfectly cooked string beans and carrots. My companion ordered steak tacos. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the soup and my entrée. Soup was warm, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Scallops were melt in your mouth good. Wild rice pilaf, surprisingly was soft and very tasty with the mojo sauce. Location is great and it is farm fresh food, what’s not to love? Steak tacos look a little sad though. The plate had 2 good size tacos and no other sides or garnish. But my companion enjoyed them. I will be returning here again. Although food took a bit too long for our table. Other people seemed to be getting their food within a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise everything was delightful.

Absolutely lovely. Food was wonderful, and the waiter positively doted on us. I was alone with my very little one, and I thought we’d sort of get ignored, but, instead, we were treated wonderfully and given lots of attention. I am looking forward to another visit!

Revisited Farmer’s table last night in their new larger location. Mushroom fog still my very favorite tasty appetizer. Good portion to share could use a few more toasty bread though. Seafood chowder was creamy and lots of goodness in it… tasty small cup would have been enough due to it’s richness! Mix grilled entrée was really good according to my husband. Thought it was kinda boring. I had the lamb chops… ordered medium came slightly over cooked and really really salty. May be less sauce would be good. If it was cooked to perfection, might have been a really fabulous dish. $ 12 wine by glass ouch. Pricey, not as cozy, but you’ll get an enjoyable meal here most of the time.

Delicious cozy restaurant in downtown New Canaan. The staff was very friendly and made great suggestions on what to order. We were even given free samples of their soup. The black bean chorizo was amazing! The burger I had was super juicy and tasty. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake which was also really good. What makes this place even better is you leave extremely full and satisfied without having to overpay. Just as an FYI it is BYOB for wine bottles but there is a $ 15 uncorking fee.

We will not be visiting Farmer’s Table again any time soon. While the food is pretty good, this is the third time we have tried to eat there since they opened their new space and every single time there has«been a problem» in the kitchen where we wind up waiting an excessively long time for our dinner. This past weekend was probably the worst. Not only was the restaurant not crowded when we arrived, it took us 1.5 hours to get a meal. Not ideal. They need to work on customer service and communication between servers and kitchen.

Best restaurant in town expanded and became one of the top restaurants in the region. Everything is farm fresh and cooked well. Some of the other reviews are anti hype reviews. Don’t pay attention to them. Go here and eat all the food you can in good conscience.

My new favorite restaurant! The food was delicious, the ingredients were fresh and everything was hand made. The staff all worked together and had a way of making you feel like you were at there home for dinner. The atmosphere was laid back, nothing was a rush, just sit back and relax while being cared for. The prices were reasonable in fact low for the quality of the experience. I will be recommending it to all my friends!

Was very excited to try this place as was told someone had ‘the best meal ever’ here. Came for lunch during a snowstorm and the place was completely empty for once, as it seems very hard to get into at dinnertime. Started with the beet salad. This was nothing special as it was just beets sliced into large pieces, served over dull mixed greens. There was too little goat cheese or candied walnuts — the couple of walnuts though were delicious. Pork tacos — The pork had a strange flavor to it — hard to describe but just tasted off. The tacos were not dry, so that was good and had some(but not enough) guacamole inside to help the flavor a bit. Overall I have had much better tacos elsewhere. Other entrée was a grilled chicken with quinoa salad on the side and carrots– the carrots were rather delicious. The quinoa salad was very good. The chicken itself was not good — it had the strangest texture — it was crunchy. Possibly the strangest texture on a chicken dish I have ever had. The portion size was small and it was terribly overpriced for what it was. Food might be farm fresh but the day we were there fresh didn’t mean best.

We were invited to this little gem by some good friends. We didn’t know what to expect but I read the reviews and it looked good. You have to brink your own alcohol so we brought our own wine. The menu had a variety of different items and they had an extensive specials menu. I had the mushroom soup special and I have to say that it is the best mushroom soup I ever had. It contained a variety of different in season mushrooms that were puréed and chunked into the soup with other vegetables. Great comfort food. My entrée was the duck breast which came with green beans and French fries. Five stars on the fries. My wife wanted to take home a dish of them. I couldn’t keep her off of my plate!!! She had the delicious special lamb stew. The owner told me that she has a secret to her fries. She whispered it in my ear but I swore not to tell My only criticism, which is why I give 4 and not 5 stars, is that the duck was a bit overcooked but it was still delicious. The small atmosphere, only approx 15 – 20 seats, was divine. I will definitely make Farmers Table a regular stop.
