Bluestone Bar and Grill reminds of a tyical sports bar and grill but a little bit classier. The restaurant was clean, food tasty, and beer cheap. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the very large bar. It sits in the center of the restaurant and allows you to sit around almost the entire perimeter. All three times that I’ve been here I have ordered the cheeseburger and fries. I ordered them medium, twice it came out medium and once medium-well. The burger is the same size as you would expect from a place like Chili’s, Applebee’s, etc. It filled me up every time and I usually took some home. Fries were hot and well seasoned. The domestic drafts were priced at $ 2 or $ 2.50 every time we went. This is great deal for the area. Thankfully I still enjoy bud light so I was able to take advantage of the good deals. I think premium drafts were priced around $ 3-$ 3.50, but I’m not sure. There are HDLCD TVs all around the restaurant with ESPN, CSN, and other channels with the sports games. There is also a projector with the most popular game on. I’ve noticed other reviews complaining about the noise. One thing I’ve noticed in most restaurants/bars similar to this one is how hard it is to hear the people around you when the place is full. I never had this problem while I visited, but the bar was never full when I went. I suspect that if you visit on a Friday or Saturday night it will be loud. If you don’t enjoy that kind of atmosphere, try going during less busy hours on a weekday. I enjoy Bluestone Bar and Grill because of the value. I can find better food and a wider selection of beers, but not at these prices.

I need to read reviews before going out. I had high hopes and they were dashed right away. When you walk in first thing you notice is how loud it is and nothing else. The place was not that crowded but everything just echo’s. Bar area is dull they have TVs all around but it just does not work for sitting around drinking, watching sports or having fun. As for the food, nothing to write about just average at best. Service is poor.

I thought that I was going to a nice restaurant/bar. Nooo. They were having a wedding in one of the rooms so I figured it had to be hillbilly chic. The first thing that I noticed is that it’s very noisy, even when there not a lot of people in the place. The second thing was the menu. Where was the rest of it? We ordered a couple of drinks and some quesadillas that were just o.k. I had the fried shrimp, because I didn’t want meatloaf. They didn’t set the world on fire. The service was horrible. I had a coupon for ½ off the second meal. The dumb ass only took ½ of a ½. At that point I wasn’t in the mood to wait any longer. I had a real bad time. But it did remind me of when I was in college. Except it was clean and there wasn’t anyone passed out at my feet.

This place confuses me. Before ever going, I checked their web site to see if I liked their menu(I did). Their web site made it seem like some nice swanky-casual-trendy bar/restaurant. Apparently, that place only exists online, as the real place is just another suburban bar/restaurant. I mean, there were posters on the walls for the weekly flippy cup contests or something. The food is good. There’s a nice variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, entrees. They have deep fried oreos, holy cow, delicious but a heart attack waiting to happen. The service is spotty, so don’t go here if you’re in a rush or anything.

Fortunately, I have not shared the experiences of my fellow reviewers. I have always found the wait staff to be very attentive and my food has always been of a decent quality. I have also been to a few private parties there which I think they do a pretty good job. My most recent visit was this past Friday after a girls viewing of Sex and the City movie. We were all eager to get a martini of some kind and we were certainly satisfied at the selection. Despite warning by the waitress that our large table full of elaborate drinks might take a few minutes, she was back with our drinks pretty quickly. We also ordered a sampler appetizer and found it was delivered fresh, hot and very quickly. The customer selection is pretty diverse age-wise. You have mixed tables of 20s, 30s, 40s groups. I think this keeps the place from being either to drab or too trendy. Now, I know a lot of people that make this place a regular on their rotation. I don’t see myself doing that but it is certainly a place to consider with the right group of people.

smoke … smoke … and more smoke. California has really turned me into some kind of princess with this whole no smoking indoors thing. My little asthmatic lungs dance on the verge of collapsing now whenever I step within 5 feet of a smoker. Anyhow, we end up at this bar after a fantastic football game. From the moment you step inside, you see all the heavy crap in the air. Back in the day, I never would’ve thought twice about this … but now … I mean, seriously. should you really be able to see the friggin’ air?! um, no. The drinks were alright, the pizza was alright, the girl-guy ratio was like 1:15, which is always alright … yeah, I’m really just stuck on the smoke.

We have tried this place a few times, and won’t go back. On our last trip, we had dinner and stayed to watch the game and have some drinks. The waitress put 4 more beers on our tab, than we KNOW we ordered. The food is reasonably priced, nothing you can’t get at Chili’s or Applebees. The staff is really not that friendly, they seem annoyed to serve you. The first time we went, there were 6 of us, just out for drinks. We stood near the bar for awhile, and when a party left a nearby table, we asked if we could sit there. One waitress said yes, so we all sat down. Another came up and barked at us that we had to move, the table was reserved for a dining party(it was already 10pm). When we told her the other person told us it was OK, she just sighed and barked again that we had to move. We did. Right out the door, and to another bar. We are in mid to late 30’s, so maybe if we were younger we would have more patience, but it’s not the right kind of place for us to spend our money.

Bluestone Bar and Grill, named after the subdivision it rests next to, is a hopping place due to it’s cool name and relative newness. Unfortunately, those are about the only two things it has going for it. The food is priced about what other mid-range restaurants are(about $ 7 – 13 an entrée) but the food is notably medicore with cardboard pizza and other menu items that don’t offer much. I got an order of calimari there once that was so soggy I just about barfed on my plate AND they still charged me for it after I sent it back. I found the waitresses to be kind but the bombshell bartenders could care less about anything other than pouring your drinks. I’ve only been there about four times so I can’t say much else but I steer clear of this place even when I’m on a spending spree.
