Very disappointed. Deceived when placing table and the staff is very blunt and short. Menu is not complicated although there is a surcharge if you don’t finish your«all you can eat portion». Would not recommend on weekend night. Food was subpar steak very small and noodles very oily.

We always have fun when we eat here as the kids love the hibachi show and the food is delicious. Always a great time!

We used to go to Saki in St. Pete, until we found out about Koizi. And Koizi is way better than Saki. Sushi: portion of rice and filling/fish are good(not a scoop of rice for a tiny slice of fish like Saki). Great hibachi meats. Dinner they have squid, which is cooked well. Jumbo shrimps at dinner. Juicy chicken and beef. Dinner also include sashimi which are nice cuts of raw fish. Some waiters/waitresses better than others.

Two stars: I’d come back only if I was too lazy to drive 15 miles to the other endless hibachi. Came in for lunch. When you sit down, the ambient light level is dark. I mean like I’m on a date and I don’t want to see my date clearly kind of ambient light. And it’s pretty bright outside when I came in, so to go from sunny day to candle-light level is odd. You have the choice of choosing all-you-can-eat or a la carte, but the whole party must choose one or the other, there are no split types. They have two hibachi stations in the front to accomodate parties of ten or if you opted for the tableside show, which is something I guess they do. Our waitress did get some of our orders mixed up in the sushi department, or missing some orders. The my steak and shrimp hibachi(the endless one, not the tableside one), surprisingly came out moist and not dry, which rarely is the case with these AYCE places. Price is not bad, but then again the selection also felt limited too, compared to other places I’ve been.

So, we arrived at Koizi at 8pm on a Saturday and we were very pleasantly surprised that there were over a dozen tables in the dining room that were empty. We had previously visited the New Tampa location on a Saturday night around the same time and it was so crazy packed that the wait for a table was over an hour and a half! Anyway, as we looked around the restaurant, we noticed that there were over 6 empty seats at one of the 8 hibachi tables. So we thought that our party of 5 would have no problem getting seated at one of the hibachi tables. We did notice that only 3 of the 8 hibachi tables were actually in use. We were told by one of the 3 hostesses that were huddled behind the hostess counter that we would have to wait 15 – 20 min for a seat at a hibachi table. Umm, ok??? When we asked why we couldn’t sit at the hibachi that had 6 empty seats one of the male waiters said«I don’t know why we are just told that the chefs don’t want us to seat anyone there.» When we asked to see a manager, a woman walked up to us but said nothing. WE actually had to ask her if she was the manager. She told us that she was filling in for the manager(Mike), who is on vacation. She actually manages the Brandon Koizi location. When we asked her why we couldn’t be seated in the empty seats at the hibachi table she told us that the chefs request that no one sits at those seats because the walkway behind the seats isn’t wide enough for their cooking cart to fit through. If that’s the case then why even put chairs there then??? If you keep chairs there then you are constantly going to be questioned about why patrons aren’t being seated there. Another funny thing that we were told by the male waiter was that it would probably be an additional 15 – 20 min wait(beyond our original 15 – 20 min wait) before we could be seated because in his words«the current customers were „squatting“, and just hanging out talking at the table.» Wow! Not excusing his poor customer relations skills but given his age, it seems as if there hasn’t been a lot of customer service/customer relations training yet provided to this young waiter. We were seated shortly after speaking with the Mgr. And again, the lack of customer relations skills of our waiter appeared as he passively-aggressively greeted us with this statement«So, now that you are seated, are you better?» Again, we let this go but hopefully someone from the Koizi mgmt team will read this review and address these issues. Our order was taken & our beverages were delivered to the table. Our starters were brought out quickly, with only one plate of sushi missing(vegetable rolls). Sushi, soups & salads were delicious! As we were enjoying our starters, our Chef came to the table & began his show. He was AMAZING! Very social, very entertaining & very talented! There were two small children in a separate party also seated at our table & our chef really make huge efforts to engage & entertain them. Very impressed with his professionalism! Our hibachi dishes were very fresh, expertly prepared & very delicious! As the time approached 10pm they started stacking the chairs at the tables all around us & our waiter came over and asked,(as my friend was taking his last few bites of the food that was still on his plate), «So, are you guy done?» I think my friend was a little embarrassed & so he put his fork down & said«yes, we’re finished.» Ok, that was really the last straw for me with this kid. I was horrified! Then after basically shaming my friend to stop eating, our young waiter actually had the nerve to tell my friend that he would have to charge him a surcharge for the two pieces of sushi that she didn’t eat. What?!? Are you serious?!? I wish Unilocal would make two separate ratings for reviews, one for service & one for food because while I’d love to be able to give credit where credit is due– our food was GREAT(5 stars) and so was our Chef but the wait staff & the hostesses were THEWORST! Hopefully the mgmt will read this review and spend a lot more time training/re-training their staff. I’d really love to give this place another try, but I’m hesitant. Maybe I’ll try the New Tampa location.

This has become our new favorite spot especially for sushi! Very clean and delicious food. Can’t beat the price $ 10 unlimited for lunch and $ 17.95 unlimited for dinner. You will never leave hungry.

The Worst! Waitress could not remember what we ordered. Had to ask many times! Chief was new and did not do anything like the others do. Did not speak any English so could not tell him when rice was not cooked. Had to wait forever for anything! Food not very good.

Didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. Kind of bland hibachi, and I was sick after eating there. Hoping it was a one-time thing. May give them one more chance.

Good food and good value. Went for lunch. Lunch was $ 9.95 and included unlimited sushi and hibachi. Only tried sushi and some appetizers. Miso soup was delicious, very rich broth. We also tried the gyoza which was pretty average but served with a very good sauce. Sushi selection was pretty limited for lunch(more selections are included with dinner) I tried salmon, tuna and tamago sushi. All were very good. Small pieces but the right proportion of fish to rice. I also tried the Koizi roll which was okay. I didn’t like that it was wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed which the menu did not say. The spicy tuna was very good. Perfect spice and the tuna was spooned which is nice! Could have gotten some dessert as well but was too full. Ice cream or fried dough was included with lunch. Service was very good even though it was busy and he had a lot of tables. Atmosphere was nice. Nice tables, bar and viewing area for sushi and hibachi. Would definitly recommend.

This place was great. I had the hibachi steak and shrimp and it was flavorful. My one son probably had $ 100 of sushi easy, which we call Njgiri at other places where we came from. He said the Salmon was like butter. $ 17.95 per person really is a great deal. My spicy tuna roll was very spicy, to me anyway. My other boy had two plates of hibachi and a couple of California rolls. Nice waiter and quick service. Very good place, we will be back for sure.

I came into Koizi with high expectations based on word of mouth and some reviews I’d read. I was very disappointed. The moment we walked in we sat down and were told all the«rules» and immediately asked what we wanted to order. We felt very rushed. If you have dinner with 4 people, either ALL if you have to get the all-you– can-eat option or else none of you can do it. They remind you about 10 times during your meal that if you don’t eat it all you will be charged for what you don’t eat. The sushi was not very good at all. My husband enjoyed the hibachi. I think if we ever went back it would be for only the hibachi. Overall, service and food were not up to par.

Unlimited hibachi? Where do I sign? This is essentially your standard Japanese hibachi restaurant, with a twist. Pay $ 17.95, and you get unlimited food. Yes, you read that right, unlimited, with a few caveats. First, you entire party must decide to order a’la carte(as you would normally) or unlimited. This is to prevent sharing, and seems fair — if perhaps inconvenient depending on the makeup of your party. The unlimited price for kids is much lower, $ 5 for the younger ones. Once you’ve decided on the unlimited, you can order pretty much anything from the menu as much as you’d like. Some items — filet mignon, for example — are at an extra charge($ 5 for the filet). But if you order hibachi shrimp as your entrée, for example, you can still order as much chicken, shrimp, or even sushi as you’d like. The other caveat — if you do not finish what you order beyond your entrée, you will be charged for it. It’s not a horrible charge, and roughly commensurate what you’d pay if you ordered it a’la carte — again, reasonable and fair. Of course, if you are all ordering unlimited, you can share — so if the kid doesn’t finish that California roll, you can. And, of course, you can just order something to share intentionally. Two things keeping this from being a 5-star review — both fixable by the restaurant: 1. Limited hibachi tables mean that you might have a long wait. However, you can get the same food at a conventional table. 2. Sometimes, the wait to get more food is a bit long. Other times, it comes out quickly. The service is good, the staff is friendly, and you can eat as much or as little as you like for a reasonable price.

Worst experience ever. … Arrived at 830… for endless hibachi and sushi. .at 9 we were told the kitchen was closed… our server messed up or orders and never said that the kitchen was going to close and he should have told us so we could have placed additional orders to feed us. We complained and asked for the manager. Manager mike(don’t think it was his real name) offered to take 50% off the bill. …as they continued to rack the chairs around us and dim the lights while we were still eating we asked for the owners name and manager mike said he was the owner. …clearly he wasn’t. He also kept on smirking while dealing with us. …it was the worst service ever and the second time in my life I left nothing for a tip

Everything was yummy. We had 5 different rolls, and they were all very good. See the pics. Jessica, the manager came to check on us and was very friendly and answered all our questions. I can’t wait to come back for dinner, more extensive menu including sashimi. Lunch was good price at 9.95 includes all stuff on lunch menu, hibachi, sushi, soups, etc. Jessica said dinner is 17.95, and recommended we try the white Christmas roll and the sexy roll on the dinner menu. My favorite lunch rolls were the koizi roll and the dancing Krabi rolls.

All I can say is «Yummy!!» We have been going to the Koizi over in Tampa for a year and love to eat there. We found out that they just opened this one in New Port Richey and had to try it out. So we went. The food/menu is exactly the same. The food was awesome I think even better than I expected. The wait staff is still learning which normally happens when a new restaurant opens. But all in all we still had a great time and we for sure will be back. 5 stars all the way.
