The Cove Atlantis

if you want to pay thousands of dollars for absurdly TERRIBLE service this is the place for you. the staff is rude and disrespectful, but I guess that’s what happens when they have an automatic 15% gratuity on every charge. there are beautiful islands everywhere, stay at one of them.

No food after 10pm… even though restaurants post they are open till 11 (77 degrees). thank you Island time

The Cove Pool was a total blast! Waterslides are awesome. Lazy river was fun as well.
Room service pizza was really really good…

The cheesy Casino was lame… along with the really heavy set girls trying to squeeze into a size 3 dress… Not good!
I am here on a paid for work trip but will still spend about a grand out of pocket over a 5 day period on bad drinks and $ 10 bottled waters and 15% gratuity added to everything you buy!

Overall we are unimpressed with this property… not what I expected…

If (big IF) you ignore the prices and want to be fair, this place deserves a five rating or at least 4.5.
I was late planning this vacation because of medical issues. So, I booked via Southwest Air figuring they have more clout than me, for sure. Yes, I probably paid a premium for the ease of booking but my mental health demanded I take a winter break from the cold & tedium of the DC metro area. Southwest Air confirmed my suspicions that most rooms didn’t have refrigerators and that was a $ 15 daily upgrade. I requested that upgrade. When we registered, however, we were upgraded to a penthouse sweet on the 21^st floor with included a stocked mini-​fridge. Okay, that was an acceptable compromise. We had been to the Bahamas before so we knew how ridiculous prices are. We rolled through customs with an 8 pack of beer & enough junk food for 4, just not the 2 of us. LOL. After all, you don’t need the 2 bags SWA allows to stay 5 days. We used 1 small bag for our junk food & beer.
Yes. The restaurant prices are still shocking. Remember to check your bill, on TV, daily. We were being charged for WiFi even though it was included in our SWA package deal. I called the front desk and they have promised to deduct it. Our package included $ 250 for food. It’s day 3 now and we are about a run out of credit. That includes eating elsewhere a few meals and paying cash for 1 meal.
The two paid $ 115.15 for breakfast one morning, our mistake! The break down:
2 Adult Breakfast $ 62
2 Mimosa $ 32
Tip $ 14.10
VAT $ 7.05
Our mistake, the server ask if we want a Mimosa and we say yes not asking if it is included in the price of the buffet meal. Only while ordering the 2^nd Mimosa do we remember to ask that. NOPE! No dice. Each tiny Mimosa glass cost $ 16, perhaps 5 oz. LOL

I stayed 3 days at the Royal Building and 5 days at the Cove, their highest luxury building. The landscape and pools are very nice. The service is very bad and no respect, 75% of the time.
I had a plater of 3 kind of smoked fish appetizer and a bottle of wine with a friend and it was good. The next night i came in ordered the same. I was only give 2 kind. They said that they forgot the mackerel.
2 hours later at 10:45 pm i went back to have dinner i ordered the charcuterie platter and i was told they are out of it. I ordered the Caesar Salad … Also they said they are out. So i asked what do you have the answer was they have nothing from the menu.
I reserved a haircut at their barbershop price listed $ 40 (tax included). I was charged $ 60. When i referenced their website they just smiled.
Atlantis is the only high end resort on the island. No competition and paying $ 1,200 per night for a 3 bedroom suite gets you only 3 water bottles vouchers as a complimentary gift
Another thing you need to know that any food ir bar service you will be charged 15% Service Charge + 7.5% VAT Tax + you are expected to leave tips for the waiter.
In conclusion money is not the issue its customer service, courtesy and respect.
Save your money and skip the Bahamas

Large little island with so many activities! Nice facilities, rooms, pools, beach and so much more! Awesome place to spend vacations!

I should start off by saying i did not stay at Atlantis, I only went there for part of the day as i was on a cruise and decided to go over to paradise island and visit Atlantis.
I went to the aquarium which was a bit pricey and was just ok not one of the better ones i have been to.
Also went to the casino and found most of the table games were high amounts to start.
I like craps and generally I play $ 5 there minimums were $ 25.
I still played and did ok walked out with a little more than I came in with.
I walked the grounds which were beautiful.
The waterpark looked great and made me want to come back and stay.
Overall Atlantis was nice and probably would go back.

Whatever you do save your money! This place looks good from far but far from good. Let’s start with the filthy 700 $ room!!! Omg hair and sand in the tub. Dirty sheets. Gross. Needs to be updated. Too much to complain about

Actually a nice place to stay as far as quality of room is concerned, but beware EVERYTHING is extra. We pre-​paid the room and tax as part of the booking, but when we arrived we found an additional $ 12 per day maid service charge and $ 53.69 per day resort fee to cover WiFi and ‘complimentary’ bottle of water each! Of course these charges also attracted tax! On top of that they instantly charged my credit card $ 1000 at check-​in for sundry items without telling me! So after two lunches, two dinners and a few drinks we left with an additional $ 738 on our bill!
Having said that (and the reason why it retained 3 stars in my review) the hotel and facilities are very nice, prices were not as bad as people said they would be, but we do live in Manhattan NY, so we are used to that level of cost, others may find it shocking. We discovered the taxi to Nassau and Cable Beach and ate offsite for two of our four days stay, much cheaper and better food selection.
Paradise Island caters for tourists who want to say they have been to The Bahamas without feeling like they have left US, and it does this very well, caters for families and makes life easy and efficient for those who want to spend a few days away with the kids and not have to worry about anything. For those who actually want to see The Bahamas I would recommend staying on the main island around downtown Nassau.

Not sure where to start. My review would honestly be less however I am giving it 3 stars for the quality of food that we experienced at the hotel restaurant near the Caine Pool as it was very good; expensive as heck but very good. Service at the Caine pool and the water slides were good too!
First impression of the hotel however was a horrible one.
We checked in at 9am after an all night red eye from California with little sleep, for a conference with 20 other people, and found out that our reservation was cancelled 6 weeks earlier. Chakara at the front desk just kept telling us that us that the booking company (
) cancelled our reservations and if we wanted a room, we needed to pay rack rates. She tried calling the booking company with no answer. Our phones of course don’t work and she refused to allow us to connect to the internet so we could email the booking company because we were not yet a guest of the hotel! After demanding to speak to a manager. Sandia came to help. She not once cracked a smile or a «no problem, let me see what I can do or a Lets get you situated for one night while we work this out». She took the same stance as Chakara… if you want to stay it will be rack rate! WTH!!! Somebody fricking help us get through this!!!
Finally she let us use their computer in the back office to send an email to the booking company (
and Bonatel). When we finally figured out how to get to our email… by the way, she stood over our shoulder the entire time we tried to get in and watched everything we did, we sent an urgent message to Hotel. jive (grace) and Bonatel.
Remember we had flown in on a red eye, we were tired, cranky and just felt gross so this was not helping! We then sat in the lobby for the next hour waiting for the booking company to call or email the hotel. We had to keep bugging Chakara to keep trying to reach them.
Finally almost 2 hours later, they figured it out and start working to get us a room. I ask them whose fault it was. Chakra says it was the booking company so I said please try and get them on the phone, I would like to speak with them. So we FINALLY reached Grace and says «no it was not our fault, my acct shows it was active and never changed status, it was Atlantis fault!!’ So I go back to Atlantis… they denied it again and I said… somebody find out whose fault this is because I wish to speak to the individual who made this error. Sandia (mgr) got the reservations dept on the phone and they sent me a copy of the cancellation that they received from Bontatel (
). Finally, I know who did it!
Interestingly enough I questioned the hotel on how they handled this problem and do you know what Charkar said…“Well we are letting you into your room at 11:30 when check in is actually at 3» WTH???
But honestly, Atlantis could have handled this sooooo much better. Customer service was so incredibly poor, I want to scream it to the roof tops! Every single one of our folks from our group all the same problem. Eventually by the 3^rd or 4^th person, they started giving them a room right away so they could figure it out later, which is what they should have done with us.
I doubt I will ever go back quite honestly, they are lucky I gave 3 stars !

This hotel is pretty old. The good thing about the Cove is that it is all Atlantis, so it shares all the amenities. You can go to the beautiful aquarium and waterpark for free.
The room itself is older. Good if you are on a budget. When I first checked in, the first room that I was given had mold in the shower and the door that is connected to the neighboring room did not fully close. I asked for another room and they gave me a different room immediately. The new room was a lot better.
The AC in the entire hotel was blasting. Make sure you bring a small cardigan or jacket.

I was looking forward to our upcoming trip to The Cove Atlantis but now the «Once upon our time» feeling has been somewhat diminished by the lack luster response from their concierge team members, Ashley, Arlene, and Keisha, to an inquiry that seemingly should take 5 minutes to respond to. Not that I would expect a response within 5 minutes but anything beyond a 24 hour turn around time for a hotel that deems themselves a luxury resort is a bit lame.
I was sent a lovely email about The Cove staff’s willingness to make our trip special added by an «extension of a formal invitation» to assist in anyway they can… don’t believe the hype. It’s been almost 2 days and I haven’t heard from The Cove as to whether there is a small refrigerator, in the suite we have booked, or not.
Stay tuned folks, I hope the experience will be better once I get to the property.
The Cove Management, if a small, simple question cannot be answered by your concierge staff, it leaves little confidence as to how they can provide service for a more complex request.

First time at the cove and everything has been wonderful. On the first day here we had told them that it was our first time in the Bahamas and they gave us an upgrade! The staff here is always smiling and have a great attitude. Everyone is so pleasant. At the Cain we have tried their mojitos, the Atlantean and spicy passion. If you are a fan of spicy drinks the spicy passion has been our go to. We don’t order any other drinks now. The river rapids are a lot of fun and relaxing. Bring your suncreen! I paid $ 11 back home and the exact same one is being sold here for $ 30. Enjoy yourself here theres a lot to do!

For the hotel it doesn’t deserve a 2 star at all but i am giving 2 star for the Caine pool. (Adults only and accessible only for registered cove guests!)
To begin, it takes to much time to finish your check-​in. There were only 2 employees. We have waited 30minutes to talk with them. (There were only group of 4 ppl who were checking in before us)
We had hard time to find a nice and open restaurant because season was low. We didn’t had much choice to try different tastes.
The Cove suppose to be luxury modern touch resort. When we arrived to the room, we were disappointed with old furnishes. Not even close to pictures as advertised! On the other hand we didn’t had balcony furnishings. We talked with room service and they have said ‘your furnitures will be there in 30 min’. After 45 minute we called back and asked for it and they said there is no available furniture. Shouldn’t they have tell that on our 1^st call! It shouldn’t be hard to grab it from other rooms since the hotel wasn’t full…
Also, We have tried some minibar chocolates and these weren’t fresh!
In overall, the resort service was well below expectations and not worth for 500 $ per night! I cannot imagine their service for the high season if it is that bad in the low season…
Choose cheaper accommodation and spend your money for the activities!

Such a fun resort! I came here this past month with 15 friends to celebrate a close friend’s birthday. The Cove Atlantis was a great place to celebrate since it was mostly adult oriented. My husband and I had a ton of fun but this hotel is definitely on the pricey side.
Hotel room (4 stars):
— Very large, clean room with bed, sofa, and additional seating included
— 2 TV’s
— Great turndown service in the evenings
— Fully stocked fridge with alcoholic and non-​alcoholic beverages (at a high price of course)
— Beach bag in the room you can use and take home free of charge
— Large bathroom with 2 sinks, stand-​up shower, and jacuzzi tub
— Wonderful balcony with great views
— Large closet with plenty of hangers
— Secure safe to store personal items in
— Negative: we were not refilled with bath items (loofa scrub, bath soap, shower cap) unless we asked
Pool:
— Cain pool for Cove guests is Adult only!!! I love not hearing screaming, crying, splashing children at the pool :)
— Private pool beds are available to rent out
— DJ plays music daily at the pool
— Hookah available poolside: nothing better than drinking and sitting in a pool smoking hookah!
— Great, attentive pool servers with food available to order
— This pool reminded me of Vegas but definitely not as pretentious
— Gambling tables are available at the pool bar area as well
— For guests with kids, there is a kid friendly pool at the Cove as well as many kid friendly pools and activities within walking distance of the Cove
Beach:
— Gorgeous, clean beach with minimal seaweed
— Clear water
— Quiet
— Adults only beach section while staying at the Cove
— Not crowded
Other Atlantis Amenities:
— Great water slides: Be sure to try out the «Leap of Faith» water slide if you’re into thrill rides! I definitely recommend this!
— Lazy river is a 30 minute relaxing ride around the Atlantis resort: be sure to not bring any valuables along– my husband accidentally lost his sunglasses on this ride when he was tipped over by a wave (he obviously was not paying attention)
— Casino at the Royal Towers is available for those who want to gamble
— Clubbing at Aura Nightclub is fun on the weekend nights! Great music but very crowded. And beware– you only need to be 18 to enter (there were many obnoxious «young in’s» there). Gals are free, guys must pay cover
— Aquarium at the Royal Tower is free for Atlantis guests and a must see! So many fish and sea life to look at
— Great restaurants available at Atlantis that I’ve also frequented in NYC: we went to Nobu, Mesa Grill, and Olives– great food and great service but definitely pricey
— Free shuttle to other areas of the Atlantis if you’re not in the mood to walk: these frequently come and pick up guests in front of each hotel every 2 minutes
— NEGATIVE: VERY EXPENSIVE STAY– 7.5% VAT fee for all good and services rendered at the Atlantis– needless to say, we did not buy any souvenirs here
Overall, this was definitely a great vacation for my husband and I! I literally felt like I was in all the Atlantis commercials I’ve seen on TV! If you are looking to get away on a couples vacation with NO children around I DO NOT recommend this resort. But otherwise, come visit, relax, have a drink, and enjoy! Oh and don’t forget to bring your dollar bills to tip (or gamble with)!

The hotel carpet at cove beat up bubbled, bathroom mold, toilet broken.
Been coming since it opened 3 to 5xs a year. Very in need of a clean up and upgrade.
The ONLY reason I come back is the staff at the pool the bell desk and the club level are amazing and are our friends for years, the treat us like family.
But is a sad day when you pay this much and the level of appointments have decreased and up keep has fallen below what the cove is about.
The marriage should be ashamed, when Seaul Kerzner was around things were great.
The like of jay z and Beyoncé would come.
Now they would laugh or at least anyone use to quality would make a different choice. I would.

Absolutely loved the Cove, so new and so clean. They have a pool for ADULTS ONLY. They have good music playing all day, you also have the option of the beach area. Food by the pool is really good, they also offer hookah, for those hookah smokers!

For our wedding anniversary we stayed about 5 days here. This location offers amazing views of the ocean!!! Room service was pretty good & the bathroom was heavenly. Put the radio on one of the relax/​spa stations and relaxed with the bath beads (red flower ocean). Nice jacuzzi tub was super relaxing. Not as relaxing as our massages at the spa, but close! The spa was very peaceful and the artwork is amazing. Most of the décor of this place is amazing! Love the huge seashells and the stones, the big chair that everyone takes a photo in and the aquarium. Was nice just getting lost in this place and walking around taking in all the sights and sounds. Very good sushi at the sushi restaurant — over-​priced, but it was delicious!!! Great drinks as well.
The property has well-​lit walking paths in between the different residences and it makes for a nice evening stroll. The restaurant connected to the Cove is very nice and cozy. The food was excellent… had to sit next to a large, loud fishing group from Texas though… they were drunk and rowdy for such an intimate setting. We did meet very interesting people at the casino and played a while… didn’t do too well at craps, but did okay at blackjack. So many interesting people from all over the world would just sit down and talk. It made playing a lot more fun.
The only time we saw the actual people & the island was when we got in the car to take us to the hotel and when we were heading back to the airport. One Negative: My husband was supposed to have an executive car waiting for us at the airport, but the reservation was lost or mishandled. He even called to check in the day before and we were told everything was ready. They got the right car for us on our way out, but it would’ve been nice to have it when we first got there from our long flight.

First and foremost, EVERYTHING is overpriced so be prepared. Highly recommend stopping at a local grocery store (ex: $ 28 for a bottle of banana boat suntan lotion at the resort) and get water and snacks!!!
3.5 –FOOD: food is decent. Nothing extraordinary. I’ve eaten at shark bites (3.0), room service order (4.0), olives (3.0), marketplace (4.0), Virgil’s BBQ (3.5) and the stake place (4.5). Overall disappointed in lack of authentic/​local food. The stake place was expensive but so well worth it. Great cuts of meat.
4.0-ENVIRONMENT: clean, beautiful, well staffed but the only annoying or bad thing is the damn people on the beach where you’re supposed to relax trying to sell you a bracelet or jet ski rides every 10 minutes!!! Makes «relaxing» very difficult. If you are «looking to party» hit the jet ski guys up. That’s a perk. Downside is to get the «local» experience, you have to take a taxi off of atlantis.
3.5 OVERALL: everything was great except the prices for food of that quality. $ 30 for room service cheeseburger? Really? I’d probably never go back nor recommend it to anyone. I’d go to Hawaii again!

Atlantis is amazing. It’s like the Disneyland of the Bahamas. This place is HUUUGE. You don’t even need to step outside the resort as they have everything here. From water parks to shopping. It feels like Vegas inside the resort. There are luxury shops like Versace and Gucci and it’s duty free on top of that! This is the only place on the island that has a casino. They have a club here but it is only open from Thursday — Saturday. Ladies are free if they are guests, and guys are $ 35. If you’re not a guest, you pay more.
The aquarium is really nice too and it feels like you’re in a lost city ruin.
Some of their amenities are for resort guests only. Arcades require $ 20 min purchase on the card.

If you are coming to Paradise Island or Nassau on a cruise it is definitely worth spending a part of the day at the Atlantis Paradise Island if you’ve never been just to experience it or to be able to say you’ve been there done that lol. To fully enjoy Aquaventure and the rest of the resort bring your credit card you will need it depending on occupancy rates you can usually purchase day passes right at the Atlantis resort. The prices for an Atlantis Day Pass fluctuates but expect to pay for everything you do except for the casino and shopping no extra charges on what your lose. You may also purchase Atlantis day passes as an excursion from your cruise ship. Cruise ships also offer tours of the Atlantis, but keep in mind you will not be able to use any of the pools, beaches or water rides while on the tour. I recommend doing a day pass over the tour because why would you want to pay money to watch other people vacation. The tour does not allow you to fully experience Atlantis. If you are coming from a cruise ship Atlantis is only a short 10 minute cab ride from the harbor for about $ 4 per person each way plus the taxi will want you to pay the $ 1 toll to cross the bridge going to Atlantis no toll on the return trip.
