The spot is a cool spot for BBQ. My and my boyfriend like to explore some other areas for Lunch and came across this place that had some good ratings. We shared a good appetizer called Bo shrimp. I ordered the smoken rooster sandwich which was a juicy grilled chicken breast with there special Bbq sauce and mac n cheese as my side. Everything was good and fresh. He ordered the same but as a dinner with 2 sides adding fries for his second side. Decent place to check out.

Let me get right to the point: this is the best barbecue I have ever tasted in my entire life. Hands-down, without a doubt absolutely delicious. I’m from the south. I grew up in North Carolina and from there I moved to California as a Marine. During my time in California I enjoyed a lot of Famous Dave’s BBQ and a lot of Lucille’s Barbecue. Up until this very moment I thought that Famous Dave’s had the best barbecue that I have ever had. That has all changed because I just arrived in New Windsor a few days ago for my new duty station and during my drive from California, I stopped at three or four barbecue places along the way. They were decent and some of them were really good. I have a new outlook on barbecue in my life because of this place. Brothers Barbecue is the best barbecue you’ll ever taste. I had the spareribs and the smoked chicken for my main dishes and the candied yam’s and collard greens were my sides. The ribs have a rub on them keep me attacking the ribs until there was nothing but bone left. The smoked chicken made me smile and I just had chicken for dinner last night. The seasonings on these 2 meats are causing me to salivate heavily even now as I write this. I had intentions on going somewhere else after I ate here for dessert, but the candied yam’s satisfied my craving for something sweet. They were perfect and they reminded me of the deliciousness that I tasted when eating desserts growing up in North Carolina. The collard greens had bits of bacon in them and you can never go wrong when putting bacon in something. On these collard greens, it was perfect. If you like cornbread then this is the place to get it. I paid for extra before I left just to have another chance at that delicious crispy miss combined with the perfect amount of a buttery flavor. Brothers Barbecue will be the only place I eat barbecue at from now until I leave the state of New York.

So, this is not a negative review. Hopefully this is a constructive review. I’ve been to Brothers a number of times, and, when the stars are aligned, I honestly think this is some of the best BBQ in the Northeast. The owners clearly love what they do and have included some great southern touches like fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and collard greens that you don’t always find at BBQ joints. This past Father’s Day, however, the stars were not aligned and what should have been a fantastic meal was marred by logistical flaws that should not happen at a place that has been open for as long as Brother’s has been. I understand that any holiday that emphasizes dining out(like Mother’s day or Valentine’s day) is going to mean lots of business, and I get that this can impact a restaurants normal operations to a certain degree, and that is why restaurants need to step up their game on these occasions. It didn’t seem like anyone was managing the floor and making sure orders where going in and coming out as they should have. We waited 45 minutes just to get our apps, which seemed like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. It took another 20 minutes for the main dishes to come out and by the time I got my plate of brisket it was dry and hard, almost like it had come out of the smoker a day or two ago and been reheated. We saw other tables sat after us have apps delivered before us. What’s going on in the kitchen? If your patrons are waiting an hour to get their dinners it sets off a whole cascade of things you don’t want for your operation. The kitchen gets out of order and backed up even more, the servers are blamed by the less savvy patrons for the long wait and don’t get the tips they should(which makes it harder to retain the good ones), customers think twice about going back, etc. etc. It’s a vicious cycle. Little details can make a big difference. If staff are too busy to answer the phone, turn the ringer off. We spent our entire(extended) meal listening to the phone ring. If you expect to have a full house on a hot day, crank the AC. It was so hot that people were fanning themselves with whatever they could find. If you’re going to serve large plates and dishes that come with separate sides, get bigger 4 tops so patrons are not having to stack their own dishes. Make sure staff know not to just thrown stuff on the table… even if they, understandably, are in a big rush. All this is not to say that you won’t get great BBQ if you come here. **You will**. I want this place to do well because they deserve to, but they have to pay attention to the other details as closely as they pay attention to the quality of their food. A place that makes excellent food should never be hobbled by inefficient operations. Essentially, this is a 5-star review hidden within a 3-star one. Keep Smoken, Brothers

Awesome BBQ better than down south. Great atmosphere with live stage and blues bands.

I was recently attending a wedding at the Thayer Hotel in West Point and took a ride with some friends to see if I could find something good to eat. We came upon Brothers Barbecue. First lets start with the service, the staff was welcoming, very professional and eager for us to have a GREAT experience. Then one of the brothers actually stopped at our table and we had wonderful conversation with him about his brothers, his family and the business. The the icing on the cake was the food, we had a little of everything and it was ALL so very good. Along with myself I was with a group of picky eaters, they were from Virginia, California, New York, and New Jersey, and they all loved it. It was so good we ordered food to go, even though we weren’t leaving for another day, thank goodness we had refrigerators. I am hoping I get a chance to return one day, but in the meantime if you are in the area make sure you stop by «Brothers Barbecue». P. S. They had nice live smooth jazz music to top it off.

Had a great visit to Storm King Art Center yesterday. Went a couple miles up the road to Three Brothers and were very surprised at the quality of the food. Dry rubbed ribs were tender and tasty with just a little fat to complement the texture. Wings with hot sauce were nice and crispy and not fatty. Great corn bread and beans too. And to top it off Shiner Bock on draft — almost like being at Goode Company on Kirby in Houston! The staff were very friendly and engaged To quote Arnold«I’ll be back»

I had heard a lot about this place from friends and family but yesterday I went with my mom and sister. The corn bread was really good and soft. I ordered the cheese fries for an appetizer and was disappointed. They were very soggy. The ranch sauce was great and fresh but the fries itself were really greasy. I ordered the brisket sandwich for an entrée with the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was really creamy and good but it was cold upon arrival. Also the brisket was barely warm and I felt that it had very little flavor. It was also dry. And the barbecue sauce was horrible. I would have preferred bottled sauce. Overall it had highs and lows but I won’t be back.

Very good bbq for the area, much better than the place by the river. They have excellent bbq and wings. Didn’t give the 5th star because their fried chicken isn’t great and I’m a sucker for good fried chicken. Can’t go wrong with the brisket or wings.

My husband and I were in NY for our sons graduation from West Point all the way from Oklahoma and just happened to see the spot and made a u-turn to see about it. The food was amazing… very fresh and reminded me of grandma’s cooking. our waiter Cody was cool and we met one of the owners Gavin… definitely a must try.

Best food ever! There are no other words. At first I was slightly bummed out because they were out of smoked chicken, but it turned out amazing! I had the fried chicken, pulled pork, candied yams and Mac and cheese. They were all delicious and I couldn’t stop eating! My husband had the brisket, pulled pork, Mac and cheese and fries. They were unreal! And their corn bread before the meal was to die for! Great atmosphere, excellent service and the live music was very entertaining. This is a MUST whenever we are back in the area.

Been looking at, and driving by, this place a lot and haven’t been due to all the low ratings, but went last night with friends. On Fridays and Saturdays they have a live band so we thought it was going to be too loud. We were seated quickly and the noise level was tolerable, had to lean in a few times to hear each other. Surprisingly, the service was amazing, we didn’t wait long for our server and our drinks never went empty before the next came. With dinner you get honey crusted corn bread that is awesomely delicious. We didn’t try the appetizers here but they all looked great. I got the 2 meat combo for $ 20 which came with plenty of meat and two sides, which I got the smokey beans and Mac n cheese, both of which were delicious. For the meats, got brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was great with some of the outer layer that carried a lot of flavor. The pulled pork was good, just a little too much hard fat for my taste. With the great service, one of the owners came by our table at least twice to ask about our food. Will return here, maybe without the band next time.

Delicious food and great service! Have the fried pickles, ribs, and pulled pork. Skip the beans, I thought they were too sweet. Go for brunch on sunday! Great portions and inexpensive.

Really nice since they rebuilt. Nice décor, modern. I haven’t seen a band there but it looks like a great space for it. Sauce is smoky not just sweet. Meats are tender and tasty. Service was quick and really friendly.

When you walk in the smell of pork surrounds you, its amazing. Still though, I’d give it 3 stars just from the quality of the food and service. Sometimes they have bands that play a little too loud too, so watch out for Friday nights. Other than that great resterant if you’re in the area.

Wow, just wow!!! On my annual xmas trip to the Hudson Valley I eat myself up a pants size. I eat everything when I am on the east coast, but barbecue is usually not on the list… that is until this trip. At my sister in laws suggestion the whole family stopped in at Brothers for dinner the other night. If you have not called to make a reservation I highly suggest you do… the recording is very, very funny!!! We were greeted and seated at a table near the stage where a live band performs some blues! AWESOME!!! Free live music with our meal… and a very good band to boot! We enjoyed some drink from the bar… the waiter suggested a local craft brew on tap… I can’t remember the name but it was outstanding. Speaking of outstanding, the food is outstanding as well. I had a two meat combo with brisket and chopped BBQ. Both were fantastic… but the chopped BBQ… Oh my GOD! So good… smokey with a vinegar kick… it was AWESOME! It would be a crime not to order a side of yams… GOODLORD those are sinfully delicious! Others in my party had fried chicken, a burger(HUGE!!!), ribs and pulled pork. It was perhaps the quietest dinner ever as everybody was busy stuffing their faces! Everything was great and I will be back on my next visit East!

This is my favorite place to eat barbecue! I think I have had the chance to try at least a little of all the meats except the burgers. All were great! My favorite is the beef brisket. Perfectly smoked, trimmed nicely, great tasting outside. The side dishes at Brothers equal the meat in quality, which I have not always found to be the case when I have had barbecue out. I have liked all the sides I have tried and am especially partial to the candied yams, the macaroni and cheese and the collard greens. Cornbread is served upon seating. It is also really good! Give Brothers a try if you are in the area, or if you are in the mood for a ride. You will be glad, and I am pretty sure you’ll be back!

Yummmm! We have ordered take out from here a handful of times on a friends recommendation and everything is always delicious!!! From the ribs to the pulled pork and brisket everyone just can’t get enough. The meat is always cooked/smoked to perfection and it isn’t drowning in sauce. The sides are outstanding too(baked beans, Mac and cheese, and collard greens are all faves, not to mention the amazing corn bread). We dined in for the first time last night and the food didn’t disappoint. There was a really great live blues band playing while we ate. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired(harsh lighting, plastic tables and cups) but… it is a BBQ place. We will definitely be back without a doubt!

With a wife from Texas and having to visit family there quite often, I’ve been able to scope out some amazing BBQ places over the last several years. I’ve heard people down there say«You can’t have good BBQ in NY!» well I can absolutely tell them that is NOT the case. Brothers does an excellent job of smoking their meats to perfection and is the closest thing I’ve had to Texas BBQ in this area. I stopped by this afternoon to see about scheduling them for a catering event at my house. They can come to you and cook anything you need, and even do a pig roast(which is what I’m most interested in btw!). People I know who have used them(from parties at home to catered tailgates at Army games) have all raved about their service. Can’t wait! As for the preferences of meals, you simply CANNOT pass up on the Jalapeño Poppers as an appetizer. They’re stuffed with cheese and BACON… there, that got your attention. Real hungry but not sure what to get? Dilemma solved, just go with the 3 meat combo. You’ll definitely want to have their Brisket and Pulled Pork. The third option is totally your call! If you just have a hankering for ribs, that’s fine too — they offer baby back ribs or spare ribs as options and they baby back are phenomenal. Don’t be fooled by their contemporary down on the waterfront, this is the place to go for BBQ in Orange County.
