I have been coming to this location since it opened and the food/service is hit or miss. I have learned that going inside rather than using the drive thru is necessary and this is just sad. On most occasions, no matter what night of the week it is, when I use the drive thru they never have enough food ready and I am forced to pull into an empty spot and wait for them to bring me my order. The problem with this is often they bring out my order and something is wrong or missing and I have to go back in wih my receipt and whole order to correct it. Worse is when I am sitting out there 15 – 20 mins and they forget all about me! This past time I went inside — I was the only customer at the counter — they had four people working there — two cashiers, one drive thru cashier, one cook and the manager — and still my order took forever to get — the cashier was very slow in getting my order together — no one else came in to order anything — yet she still took forever — and I had to tell her four times about items she forgot on my order as I pulled all the items out of the bag and showed her my receipt. If i didn’t micro-manage my order I wouldn’t have gotten everything I paid for — really? I wanted to say to the cashier after she put my last item in the bag«this is the reason why I come inside to place my order» but I decided to be nice and just smile and say thank you. Admittedly, the food was very good — the spicy tenders were tender, the mac & cheese was good, the butterfly shrimp was good, etc. So aside from the poor service, I will continue to go back, but I will only go inside now so I can make sure my order is correct.

I’m a Popeye’s girl, and unless I want to drive to Paramus, this is where I have to go to get my fix. The food is very good here, though Popeye’s is on the expensive side. They also never seem to have biscuits ready and I usually have to wait, but at least then they’re fresh! Oh and I tried their current dessert special, the blackberry and cream cheese pie. Very good, and deep fried, just the way McDonald’s apple pies used to be. *sigh* Something I have to note, though unrelated to my food experience, the KFC across the way, has competing advertising facing Popeye’s that you could really only see if you were in the Popeyes or it’s parking lot… rather bad sportsmanship in my opinion.

To tell you the truth, I’m a bit hesitate about writing this review. Actually very hesitant. This Popeyes opened about a few months ago and is the best kept fast food secret in the area. I’m scared that once I write a a great review, the place will get too busy! It took me years to find a fast food place at lunch that doesn’t make me wait 20 minutes to get a meal. But here it goes. Best Popeyes I’ve ever went to. I used to eat at Popeyes because there was nothing else around. The chicken was always tiny and the meal in general was so greasy. Many of the Popeyes weren’t clean and parking was a hassle. That was until this Popeyes opened. Pros: –So much parking!!! –The chicken is chicken sized… not tiny! They don’t cheat you on a serving of yummy mashed potatoes or rice. You order a large, you get a large. –The meal isn’t greasy! –The service is incredible. They are really attentive and I never had an order messed up. –Fast. This joint is the epitome of fast food. By the time you grab your receipt and make your drink, your food is done and waiting for you. –Great if you have kids. They have these video game machines for little kids. I can’t comment on these cause I’m too big for it, but they look cool. I usually don’t praise fast food places, but this place is incredible.
