This food is always AMAZING! Served when you are first seated(complimentary): ____________________________________________________________ –Bread is served with butter(olive oil if you ask) –Zucchini– it is garlicy, spicy, salty –Parmesan Reggiano –Cured Meat –Bruschetta Appetizer ____________________________________________________________ Tuna Caviar– Fresh and delicious, love the touch of caviar Oyster alla Rock– Has a pop of flavor. Has a bit of a creamy consistency and cooked to perfection Pasta ____________________________________________________________ Porcini Housemade Ravioli– cream sauce with mushrooms(again flavor is outrageous) Lobster Housemade Ravioli –creamy pink sauce with bits of lobster(yup they did it again) Pesto Pasta– Classic, always a fan… Next time I will stick with the Porcini & Lobster Ravioli because I cannot make it at home They did a 3 combo of pasta which was great because we wanted to try a few of the pastas without getting full on it. Main ____________________________________________________________ Branzino– I had it in the garlic butter sauce, loved it. I would try it in the red sauce next time to shake it up. Veal Chop–(my husband had it) He complimented the sauce and said the meat was tender. Dessert _____________________________________________________________ Flambé — We went for it. They make it in front of you table side, loved the show. We got it with berries and banana, again I was blown away. 2 rounds of FREE house made Grappa… This stuff is STRONG but we drank it… we almost had to be wheeled out! OVERALL ______________________________________________________________ Food– Excellent! You will definitely want to be back more some more Acappella! Experience– They treat you like family, they are loud, yell, they entertain and they sing. Service– Top Notch! You feel like a celebrity, their attention to detail is impeccable Ambiance– Romantic and dark Price– It’s pricey, DONT come here if you are on a budget! It is worth it if you know fine dining in TriBeCa.

Touristy, overpriced. Cannot believe they have survived. Only good thing about this place was the location. Very disappointing. Like a bad benihana for italian food…

Went here for lunch while in NYC for the day… the food was good, but not great. For the price, I personally don’t think it’s worth it. The wine and after dinner drink was fantastic, but for over $ 100.I was not impressed. The atmosphere and service was excellent!

As many others posted it is romantic, attentive and very elegant. The food was superb. The service was gracious. An amazing bartender. Great wine list and the Grappa… Well it kicked my ass. I put this on the top of my list restaurants. Cannot wait to go back!

My wife and kids(aged 12 and 10) had an amazing meal here. The staff are super friendly and the food was superb! Had the lobster ravioli to start which came with a lobster sauce which was the best starter I have ever had. The staff made the kids feel welcome and the atmosphere is both intimate and warm. I would without a doubt come back to acapella when I’m back in New York. Well done. We dined well!

I simply love this place! I look forward to coming every time I’m in New York. Tried a new dish tonight… Portobello mushrooms on polenta. They had a little spicy kick to them which added to the deliciousness. Then Branzino with olives and tomatoes. Simply awesome. Finishing off the meal with raisin grappa was a treat. I love the staff here… Totally overbearing which makes for laughs and adds to the ambience. Thank you a cappella! See you next time

Highlights — attentive service, great free appetizers, delicious shrimp fra diavolo, melt in your mouth tuna steak, and then my girlfriend and I were torn between 3 desserts, so they said«we’ll give you a little piece of each» which I thought was an unusual gesture and great! Plus the grappa was delicious too(if you are into that sort of thing)

Literally the best Italian restaurant I have ever been too. Service was phenomenal. You will pay quite a bit for dinner, but it is well worth it.

From the moment I entered this restaurant I got a bad vibe. The manager seemed high on coke, he was rude and arrogant but I went against my gut feeling and had dinner anyway. The waiter was just as rude, when I asked for suggestions he replied, «How do I know? I don’t know what you like«. I went with the fish filet special, which did not come with any sides. When we received the bill, to my surprise the fish was $ 55. The food was mediocre, the staff was horrible and the restaurant was dirty. I would never step foot in this establishment again even if you bought me a meal.

My best friend took me here for Christmas. It came very highly recommended so I had high expectations. It was actually fairly quiet when we arrived, perhaps because of the holiday. We were welcomed with open arms(I believe my buddy has been here a few times before). As an FYI-it’s on the corner right by the subway stop. Anyway, you walk inside and there’s a small bar, old shaggy carpet, older furniture that reminds you of your grandmothers dining room, some beautiful old paintings on the wall giving it a museum-like feel, and at the time they were playing Frank Sinatra. Really old school Italian feel. The place is fairly small, 19 tables total I believe. Anyway, they showed us to our table in the back and quickly brought over some fresh pecorino cheese, charcuterie, and zucchini. All were very tasty. A few waiters came over to see what type of liquor/wine we could start with. We ordered a round of cocktails to start and chatted for a bit before the waiter eventually came back over and told us about the specials which all sounded so mouth watering wow, I wanted everything, I was transfixed. He started off the specials menu with a fresh portabella mushroom app and actually came over with the mushrooms! It was paired with roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella in a tasty brown sauce. My buddy combined a few apps to get a delicious platter of oysters Rockefeller, Portabella mushrooms, and a crab thing. Everything looked AMAZING. They handed us a menu, but I basically allowed the waiter to pick some things for me. My buddy said they would make whatever I liked as long as they had it. For the primo course I ordered their pasta sampler which came with: a lobster ravioli, porcini mushroom ravioli and ziti cooked in a vodka penne like sauce with grappa. Outstanding! For the secondo course, I ordered scallops, which were very unique. Four scallops on top of large sea shells with leeks in a unique brown sauce(entrée not on the menu). They were decent. They rattled off a few desert ideas, all Italian. I had a custard like cream with raspberries and strawberries. It was tasty! The manager also brought over fig grappa. That was awesome. Definitely not a cheap place but you get some excellent customer service from the wait staff, they’ll make you just about anything you like, the food is good and I did like the ambiance a lot.

I have been here twice in the last 3 weeks and both times were great. when you are seated they bring you a small piece of cheese, bread, fried zucchini(heavy on garlic), bruschetta, and small serving of thinly sliced salami. All of which are very good and free of charge. We ordered pasta with pesto and a chicken dish served with roasted potatoes and had it served family style. this is high quality food and prepared well. The restaurant is very nice. This is one of, darkest restaurant I ever been to lights are very dim and candles on the tables. Pasta dishes $ 28 – 43, chicken $ 29 – 35. Soups $ 12 salads $ 15. appetizers $ 18 – 22 Veal was about $ 40. I do not recall the other prices $ 58 was the highest I saw for steak I believe. the waiter came a gave a list of desserts they offered crème brûlée, cheese cake and others, I would guess $ 12 – 15 each. I can not comment on the alcohol or wine after reading the prices are very high on Unilocal,we got pre dinner drinks at happy hour in a bar a few blocks away. service is professional the waiters are dressed in tuxedos, and all the employees have a Italian accent. They are attentive check in on you the perfect amount, owners/managers check in with you also a few times. They take the service and food very serious here. I will Return Atmosphere _excellent service — Excellent Food — Excellent

This was one of the best meals we have had in a really long time. It ranks high up there for sure. We sat down and they came out with complimentary bites– eggplant crunchies, cured meats, a nugget of parmesan cut to order right in front of you, and bruschetta. I could not really understand too well what the server was saying as he spoke with a thick accent; however we were so pleased with what we ordered which were all off the menu. I ordered the pasta special of the night — pappardelle in a cream sauce with freshly shaved truffles. We also ordered the veal chop. We ordered a mixed appetizer which came with prosciutto, portabella, fresh mozzarella(they drizzle the olive oil & balsamic order in front of you). The pasta was perfectly cooked– al dente and creamy and bursting of truffle flavor. It had to be perfect. I later learned how much it was and for the price I would not expect any less. The veal chop was better than any steak we’ve ordered at any restaurant of recent memory. It was seasoned to perfection and seared perfectly. Last came dessert where they poured us complimentary grappa, a first for both of us. I love this 10x more than limoncello as a prelude dessert. It was strong and tasted like raisin but not quite strangely enough. I had a form of strawberry parfait and my husband the cheesecake. I recommend the strawberry but my husband would tell you the cheesecake. Two thumbs up for EVERYTHING we got!

UPDATETOCOMMENTBELOW: I NEVERRECEIVEDTHATGIFTCERTIFICATE. Yes, i did give my correct address — it’s been over half a year, so it’s safe to say that they don’t follow through or keep their word. This is to discredit that comment left on my review. _______________________________________ They really tried to capitalize on Valentine’s Day this year. The restaurant was cramped to make double occupancy. We had reservations for 7:30 and got there at 7– we were promptly seated. The restaurant was already packed, but nothing like what one of the other reviewers said — just yet. I noticed that towards the end of our dinner, the waiting area looked like a hot mess and people were just staring at diners, annoyed that they had to wait. I don’t blame them. The pre fixe Valentine’s Day dinner was $ 80 for 3-course, $ 90 for 4-course, and $ 120 with lobster. We had the 4-course, and while the food was great, we were rushed. I rarely had a chance to look through the appetizers when someone came by and asked if we knew what we were getting. I get it — it’s a limited menu for pre-fixe, but. c’mon. THAT is ridiculous! The owners were running around, grinning ear to ear, likely from being overjoyed with how much money they were going to make by making a somewhat upscale restaurant into a McDonald’s that night. Needless to say, we are not going back. The food is good but not good enough to go back to a place where it’s like a zoo. I’m sure it’s not like this on other nights, but the burn was deep enough for me to never want to return.
