Perfect spot for you and your boys to drop in for a frosty brew. No questions asked. No buts about it. Engage with the folks in here and you’re bound to have a spirited sports debate. Don’t offend anyone and you’re home free.

Best bar in Brooklyn. This is not a «hipster» dive bar or a «cool» hole in the wall type of place. This is a friggin’ real bar. A throwback to a time & place that are usually only experienced thru 70’s movies and Springsteen songs. Jr’s is the crown jewel of the neighborhood, and should honestly be a legit U.S. landmark.

Jr & Son… RULES. If you’re looking for a hipster bar GETTHUFUKOWTUHEEEYA! It’s a local joint with regulars dating back to the dawn of man. Comprised almost entirely of Italians from the old neighborhood – who all know each other. When you go here, remember your manners, you’re essentially a guest a party that’s been going on since the 70’s. Strike up a random conversation with the lively, inviting patronage of Jr & Sons – and in no time you’ll be like family. Cin Cin!

Awful. I had hopes this would be a great local dive bar as I live right around the corner. Nope. Definitely not. I came in with a few of my friends and we instantly were looked at like«what the hell are you doing in here»… so that wasn’t very inviting. We ordered beers and they were like mini bottles? Really weird right? Anyway, our mini-beers were $ 7 each. Huge disappointment. We chugged em and moved it along — lameeeeeee.

The first time I was in Jr & Son, I was served beer by a 7ft tall man in sweatpants who was doing aerobics on the spot to the pop music blaring out of the jukebox. Each time he would charge either ‘one dollar’, ‘2 dollas’ or ‘ehh. free’. I struck up a conversation with the owner of the local pizza store who told me that his ex-wife still does his laundry because he ‘can’t get the fuckin’ Tide into the goddamn machine’. He then welcomed me to a free slice of pizza. Another time, a man in sunglasses hunched over a nip of Bud and a bowl of peanuts recounted to me a tale of his winning $ 3,000 on a video poker machine, before going on to lose it all on the same machine in one sitting. This same man was then greeted heartily by a fellow patron who exclaimed ‘Eyy! Joey Peanuts!’ Yet another time, a group of Irish contractors all simultaneously downloaded some phone application that enables the user to buy song plays on the jukebox, one minute it was quiet, the next, Dancing Queen by ABBA was blasting and everyone was breaking their shit laughing. Jr & Son is a great place. Probably the last great place in this part of town.
