Can’t beat the location, directly opposite GCT. But the food is just«meh» though the service was good. Noisy environment at lunch. Can recommend the Kale Salad but not the Chicken Club(over cooked, dry). Fresh bread and rolls will tide you over if it gets busy.

Service was horrible. We had to asked to be waited on and everything took forever. We even explained that we had a bus to catch. The servers weren’t there to work, they were there to socialize. The food was alright but the service turned me away from ever going back.

The French toast was $ 20 and didn’t even come with a side of eggs. For $ 20 it should be the best French toast ever and it barely rivaled IHOP but at least they used real maple syrup. Also, we came on Memorial day and surprisingly it wasn’t exceptionally crowded and we had told the waitress that we were in a hurry to catch a flight. One person ordered a full breakfast while the other two ordered coffee and juice each but the waitress said they needed to order food also or we’d have to leave. I totally get it but your restaurant isn’t crowded, can fit 80+ people, and we already said we’re in a rush so no need to be distasteful when it isn’t necessary. Why put a bad taste in a customer’s mouth when it isn’t even necessary? There’s no line outside. And you won’t beleieve that in the end our bill was wrong –_– I won’t be going back.

First thing first-make reservation for brunch time! As a daily commuter in and out of GCT, I walked passed this place for tons of times, never thought of getting inside… Until my fiancée’s friend came to NYC and chose this place for its popularity in many movies and tv shows. The menu option is limited, drink and food on 2 pages. I wanted to eat omelet but found they only offer one kind of omelet here. But it tasted not bad in the end! My fiancée ordered ‘eat like a New Yorker’ brunch set, which looks good too. But I really do think the juice options are limited. Only 2 juices offered-orange and grapefruit.

Arriving there at Grand Central I was told to check out this place for a decent bite to eat. So with my bags I went there to eat. A Thursday evening! I had a really decent glass of a Rose Grenache for $ 10, and a yummy hummus/pita/veggie plate with tzadiki as well. It really hit the spot! The waitress was very friendly and I had a great initial experience there. I actually went back again with my boyfriend later that weekend and we sat in front by the window. This time service was a little slower and we had to wait awhile for even our drinks. That’s ok though. as we weren’t really in a huge hurry. He had some chicken tenders which he liked and I again liked the hummus plate. Very convenient right out of Grand Central station and a great people watching place!

This place was always on my radar as this restaurant’s interior and exterior has been featured in so many movies and the location of it is right across from grand central, underneath that roadway bridge which was so prominently featured on Marvel’s the Avengers. The place gives me a casual French bistro vibe. Overall, their food was adequate. The service was nice. I feel that it gives a more businessy/touristy atmosphere but the food is fine if looking for a restaurant near grand central with a bit of history to it. I got the NY Strip steak, cooked medium rare. The steak was cooked well, soft to the cut, moist and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes was plentiful and delicious as well.

I pass by this place all the time as I walk to work and never even given it a second glance and assumed it was just another regular diner. A potential vendor took me out to lunch here. After glancing at the menu, it looked decent so why not. Normal American diner menu plus a gluten-free one for special people like me which I always appreciate. The place is nicer than a normal diner and definitely one where business lunches can be held. I went w the Mediterranean salad which tasted exactly how it was suppose to taste, like a salad. It was pretty fresh so it had that going for it. The sweet potato fries were decent but if you let them sit out for too long they get soggy. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing outstanding. It was just meh. At least I didn’t have Ruggy J.‘s pigeon experience!

The service and staff were great at this place. If you don’t have reservations, you have to wait like10/15 minutes in a separate line for a table. So definitely make reservations if they take them. We were in and out of this place really quick so definitely a good lunch spot. The food on the other hand was just all right. We both had the chicken pot pie which were super hot. However there want much stuffing in the pie. It was a lot more of a soupy stew.

It’s the restaurant under the famous Grand Central station bridge. I’ve never come in before because I assumed anything around Grand Central is a tourist trap. And in essence, it kind of was. The front is a café-like atmosphere with an area to order and pick up various food items and desserts. It’s cute, and you can look out the front directly toward grand Central. I opted for the restaurant portion in the back because it looked nicer and I wanted some real food. It was pretty empty on a Thursday night. The menu was pretty big, and the prices were… touristy. Service was good. I ended up getting a chicken pot pie, which was quite good actually! I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did I the chocolate ganache cake and carrot cake. I wouldn’t say they were the best I’ve ever had, but they were certainly well-made and well-portioned. The primary reason for the 3 stars was the price markup of approximately 20−30% compared to other similar establishments. However, it wasn’t outrageous. This place is also open a lot later than many of the places offering desserts in this area.

Honestly, if it weren’t for the unreasonably high prices for the equivalent of diner food, Pershing Square is surprisingly pretty good! A tourist trap for sure, but good! I had a lunch meeting at 1:30 pm on a Thursday and the place was very busy… and way way way larger than I ever thought it would be. We were seated instantly and the service was great. I had the chicken and vegetable soup and it was good but not at all worth $ 9. You can go around the corner to Hale and Hearty and get a bigger portion for less of a price tag. Whatever, I wasn’t paying. I also got to sample the massive piece of chocolate ganache cake and it was good too, and very rich-tasting. The menu isn’t as big as a diner menu but it offers some hearty classics like pot pies, chili, soups, and breakfast dishes served throughout the day. But like I said, it’s a tourist trap! Let them dine here and pay an arm and a leg for semi-good food, New Yorkers… go to Grand Central Market for overpriced noshes.

I reluctantly came here on my lunch break. In the past I avoided this place for fear that I might have to give up my first born son to pay for food. My sarcastic waiter suggested the lunch special which was red snapper fish tacos with fries. It consisted of three tacos with fried snapper with a side of guacamole and pico de gallo. The tacos were delicious. The fries tasted like they were freeze dried, nothing special. All I had to drink was tap water. As the bill arrived I began saying my goodbyes to my first born son. I apologized I had to exchange him for some fish tacos, but daddy was starving. The bill came out to $ 33.60 for three fish tacos. now that doesn’t sound like too much money to some, but when you go out for lunch everyday, that could put a serious hole in your wallet. Still, the food was good enough to return. The customer service could be better figuring that these prices were astronomical. For that, three stars.

There are really only two groups of people who intentionally spend much time in midtown Manhattan: tourists and bigwigs. The tourists are probably going to eat at the first place they see when they walk out the train station doors, and the bigwigs are going to have their power lunches at a place with linen tablecloths and deferential staff, and both groups want simple, recognizable food that doesn’t stray too far from what they know. Since I don’t fall into either category, maybe that’s why this place didn’t exactly wow me. The décor is pretty standard, like someone called central casting and asked for«classy but slightly stuffy New York dining establishment #2719,» and the service goes along with it, perfunctorily polite but distant. The food is satisfactory if unimaginative, the usual mix of salads and sandwiches and entrees, with a passable bar selection to match. One irksome note is that when I ordered a Coke with my lunch, it came in a smallish glass bottle, meaning no refills, even though I’m sure they have a soda fountain behind the bar. This just strikes me as a way to squeeze a couple extra bucks out of people who have the temerity not to order alcohol. The whole experience just feels very generic, and at prices that remind you you’re in New York. In a city like New York, renowned for the breadth and depth of its culinary choices as well as for having a deli and a pizza joint on every block, this place doesn’t seem to fit a particular niche. It’s neither suitable for a quick, cheap bite, nor is it a superior gustatory experience. If you end up here I’m sure you’ll have a decent meal, but consider searching a little farther afield if you really want to take full advantage of New York’s bountiful restaurant scene.

I’ve walked by the place a multitude of times as i travel through Grand Central quite often. I was meeting friends for drinks and food, so we decided to stop in a give it a shot. Huge mistake. First off, my friends got here before me and it took about 30 mins to come by and take their drink orders. Once i showed up, they never stopped over at all. I had to wait until they came over to give my friends a refill in order to get a drink myself, and they were out of all the beers I wanted. On top of that we ordered chicken tender skewers, which were pretty standard and nothing to write home about. Again they never came by to check on us. When they finally come back, we asked for them to bring us a menu so we could order some more food. Of course, they never brought.(I mean really how hard is it to grab a menu and take it to a table…) Water was never brought to the table either. Prices were OK, but honestly not worth the food and service. Obviously my friends and I could’ve been more demanding, but we were comfortable enough just enjoying each other’s company and making the group decision to never return.

1 word: Underwhelming. I’m pretty sure you’re paying for history and location more than anything else. I was debating with my colleague whether or not to grab a bagel really quick at Grand Central or here. She wanted to try it out and despite Unilocal reviews gave it a shot. There was a small line but a good number of seats at the bar open so we plopped down and ordered. Service was standard including the bartender but it’s NY so not a big deal. No wifi either which is kind of appalling. The big deal for me was $ 20 for a small portion of very plain breakfast potatoes, and the standard eggs benedict, in which I am able to grade every breakfast place I go to. There was nothing special about them at all and the presentation with a larger plate definitely not the way to go. If you don’t give a shit and want to pay more for less, this is your place. Definitely not going back myself!

A common place for happy hour. As far as good drinks, it’s a hit or miss. Do not eat here. Nothing is fresh. Everything is frozen. Overpriced. Locals and Tourists, it is not worth your time and money. Believe me. Customer service, mehh!

I shall preface my review with the fact that I did not get to eat here, so I have no clue what the food is like. The staff, however, I have firsthand knowledge of and I’d like to share that experience with you. My dining companion and I were visiting the city and stopped in on 7÷19÷15 — a day when it was sweltering hot(95+ degrees with high humidity). I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and my companion was in shorts and a sleeveless shirt; appropriate for the day. We stood in line for any of several staff to greet us, maybe even tell us it’d be a moment before we’d be seated. Nothing, no acknowledgement from anyone. We waited in line for at least 10 minutes talking about what other places we were going to visit that day and were eventually approached. With a look of disapproval, and a loud«Excuse me, but you can’t eat here wearing that. You’ll have to go change.» was how we were finally greeted. She didn’t like the sleeveless shirt and told us there was a policy of no sleeveless shirts. Nowhere was this posted. It was extremely rude and unprofessional the way it was handled. I looked through the photos on Unilocal and found pictures of guests in sleeveless shirts. Really?! Later the next day, I sent a message to the management of the business expressing my concerns and treatment. It’s been 8 days and no response. So, here’s my review. I can’t tell you how the food is, but the staff is horrible.

I came here for an early lunch with a few colleagues and am so glad we got there at 11:45! By 12 the place was almost completely full. If you’re planning on coming for lunch I would definitely make a reservation. I didn’t love the atmosphere(kind of loud and busy) but the food was good. The bread basket they carry around had a bunch of options but none were great. I loved the kale salad and salmon however! Our server was efficient and quick without making us feel rushed.

My specialty this summer is chocolate martinis. It’s a difficult job, but somebody’s got to do it. Better than Brooklyn’s Chocolate Room, just below Azya’s Wine Bar, Pershing Square’s version is in the middle as no-frills, quick, and straight-forward. There’s no pretense in this martini. A friendly, divy atmosphere from business suit clientele make this a cool and interesting space. The bartenders are knowledgable, approachable, and all class. Friendly and respectful, too. The chcoclate martini is actually chocolatey with the right amount of cream and enough alcohol to make it worth it. If you have to hop on the MetroNorth and you miss your train, No worries. This is the place to be. Grab a drink and get there happy.
