The Bread Factory Cafe

The food itself is not bad, but I just went in this morning for a chocolate croissant. I was in a rush to get to work. I ordered the croissant, paid, and had to wait 10 minutes. The cashier never gave me my food, and another cashier had to get it for me. What kind of service is that? Thank you to the lady who did help me, but the other lady should be fired since she clearly can’t do her job.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast before a long day in New York.
It was a spacious area with quick service style layout.
I ate the sausage egg Burrito. It was nothing special and it defiantly needed hot sauce.

Simple little café in heart of NYC. Came by an evening after shopping for a little warm drink and treat. Friendly staff and huge variety. Will be back.

What a freaking ripoff!!! $ 9 for a half of a sandwich with nothing in it. I only stopped here cause I was in a rush. I should have just not gotten anything at all. Never again!

Plain and simple, no.
In a city like New York, where there are so many options with amazing food, this café is misplaced. The food is bad, the customer service is non existing, the décor is missing, lighting is poor. They make you stand in a queue for ordering food, a queue which is slowest moving in the universe.
Not going there again!

Don’t be fooled by the store front like we were. The whole ordering line and paying line was very confusing? Food was okay. Juice bar man appears to have never made a smoothie/​pressed juice drink in his life. And the place is increasingly gross as you walk to the back. What a bummer.

One star for poor customer service, I was starting to like this place and wanted to make it my usual breakfast place. I asked for a muffin and the counter girl decides to use a wet bag that was used. I then told the other counter girl no thanks I’ll take a new muffin in a clean bag.

Don’t make the mistake of ordering their stir fry at night. Veggies are not fresh and their brown rice was served completely cold. The portion was mediocre, small and leaves you hungry.

Average. Food is just ok and coffee isn’t that good either. Pancakes took a long time to come out and weren’t really worth it. This was what we settled on after our first choice for breakfast was closed for the weekend and we regretted it. Pricey for mediocre food.

I like Bread Factory Café. It’s the only place in midtown that I can get breakfast with an iced coffee for under $ 5. The line for breakfast sandwiches can be long and I’m never quite sure how the guy behind me gets his order before I get mine but I’m still usually out there in a relatively decent amount of time and… it’s under $ 5. For lunch their pizza is pretty good and I like their soup and sandwich combos. It’s convenient as it’s just down the block and I usually just grab and go. Service is perfunctory and occasionally you get a smile and since I’m a born and bred New Yorker who needs smiles anyway?

I absolutely love the cafés on my trip here to NYC… there are soooo many items to choose from plus their coffee is really cheap.

This place looked and smelled most promising. I will say the rolls were good. The split pea left something to be desired. Chicken noodle was good though

Decent café with huge cookies and your typical sandwiches, soups, salads, drinks, and pizza. The food is decent and cheap

DO NOT go here for their smoothie/​juice bar. This is obviously new to them and none of the employees have clearly been trained in how to make them. Second and last time I’ll go for a smoothie there. I won’t go into the details of my first visit but that should have been my warning.
This time I asked for one of their green smoothies and needless to say by the way the girl kept looking at the board she didn’t know what she was doing and wasn’t sure what or how much of each to put in. My bad that I was on my phone and not watching close enough. I thought it was weird she had so many apples. Long story short she basically juiced my smoothie with mainly apples, one lemon and literally one leaf of kale… so much for the green in my smoothie. I basically paid 8 dollars for a glorified Apple juice, not the healthy start to my morning I was looking for. Don’t waste your money.

You find yourself checking Unilocal looking for that … that bite to eat while in NY around 7^th ave. You find bread factory café and say «it can’t be as bad as people say» so you try it anyways.
DON’T!
Find a nearby sausage cart! Find a piece of crust in a trash can outside down the street! Realize it’s your time to start that diet you always wanted! Just don’t go here. Unless you love rude employees, dirty bathrooms and bland expensive food.

Mixed fruit tart review:
I am a die hard fan of this dessert! It is rich creamy and fresh. I have bought their fruit tarts for the past three years and they never disappoint! It did get expensive by a dollar or two in a year but that didn’t stop me from purchasing it. Usually, I have to call and put an order for the fruit tart or else it is sold out by three o’ clock. Overall, I truly enjoy this dessert!

Convenient location by Macy’s, and close to my classes. It can be crowded, one day I couldn’t even find a seat on a Saturday, but it’s the perfect place to stop by and get a few slices of pizza. It is pretty good pizza, crust is fresh and crispy. Not that cheap at around $ 5, but worth it!

Never had a french toast like this before. (Toasted bread with butter)
Cookies and sandwich were flavorless.
Sorry, but wouldn’t go there again.

I was going to get a meatball parm hero from the pizza joint across the street (could’ve, should’ve), but thought this place «looked alright» and figured I’d give it a shot.
Never again.
I walk in & order the sandwich. 10min later, I’m told I can pay & the guy will bring it up to the front.
20min later, I still have no sandwich. I walk back toward the oven, where the guy who took my order sees me and says, I-​forgot-​style «meatball parm hero — here you go» as he pulls it from the oven and gives it to one of the other counter guys to wrap up for me.
It’s served on a bed of chips from a bag that’s been open presumably all day, which I figure is probably fine. Spoiler alert: the chips were the best part of the meal.
I fastwalk 1 block back to my office because by now I’m starving, open up the sandwich, take the first bite of what seems to be something that was pulled straight from the fridge.
WTF.
REALLY?! 20 minutes of waiting for a sandwich that is served ice cold. Completely unacceptable.

Le matin à New York, on croise tout le monde avec un gobelet Starbucks à la main alors j’ai voulu innover et aller ailleurs. Tombé sur cette enseigne qui fait plutôt sympa vu de l’extérieur, j’y suis allé sans crainte.
J’ai pris un capuccino et un cheesecake, je sais c’est un peu violent pour 8h du matin ! J’ai été tout de même déçu par la qualité de ce dernier et de la globalité de l’établissement en général. Je né fis pas que c’est nul mais disons que je m’attendais à un truc un brin haut de gamme alors qu’en fait ce n’était qu’un stand de pâtisserie avec des chaises et des tables. Le jugement est un peu sévère je le reconnais !
Finalement, je réfléchierais à deux fois avant de changer mes habitudes.

Birthday lunch with my co-​workers. They have a variety of options to choose from. Soups. Salads. Pasta. Burgers. Sandwiches etc. I think they should focus on certain items. There food was okay, a bit bland i must say. The desserts are very tasty.
We ordered two cheese burgers and pasta carbonara. We also ordered some baklava which was yummy but could possibly put me in a diabetic coma!!!
