Das Essen war OK, sehr preisert und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Wir haben in Unilocal den Suchbegriff ‘Thai Buffet’ eingegeben, es gab aber nur á la carte.

Today was rough. A once in a lifetime trip to New York. Sight seeing, a Broadway musical, and a great time for me and my fiancé… Unfortunately it was a comedy of breakdowns and minor tragedies all day. My mobility scooter broke down and my sweety had to push me over 20 blocks in freezing weather so we could see Wicked. Tragically, my honey was wiped out and snoozed through most of it(a very expensive nap). We were stuck, tired, cold, and hungry… Then we saw the Tom & Toon. The service is great, the food phenomenal, the staff friendly, and the entertainment unexpectedly wonderful. When your on Broadway… Complete your experience and rest at this remarkable restaurant.

Fantastic food, the service is ok. The live music is awesome and takes all sorts of requests. Not only do you enjoy your meal you enjoy your time spent in the restaurant

My wife and I were wandering around the area as we were going to a show at the Gershwin(right across the street) that night. We wandered in about 6:45pm(1:15 before showtime), and the place was mostly empty. However, either it is a popular spot or the location works. by 7:00 the place was mostly full. The servers were polite and attentive, explaining the specials. While I looked that the Prix Fixe menu(a great deal — 3 courses for 19.95), I chose Beef and String Beans, or tried to. The server(an older gentleman) said«you don’t want the beef. It isn’t good quality tonight» — and he offered some substitutions. I took the chicken. the meal was excellent, with the right amount of spice for flavor, but the heat(chili paste) was not overbearing. My wife had Shrimp Pad Tai. The taste was good, but would have liked a few more shrimp. All in all, there were no issues, and we were out of the restaurant by 7:30 — plenty of time to head across to the theater and catch the show. This place is certainly worth checking out if you are in the area, and I would have no qualms about going back.

Met some friends here for dinner on a Sat night. We were a party of 6 so we made a reservation. We were seated as soon as we arrived. There were several tables available but the place wasn’t completely empty. Our waiter came over promptly to take our drink orders and give us waters. There’s a lot to choose from on the menu, but it’s not too overwhelming as some large menus can be. A couple of the ladies are vegan and they had no problem finding good choices. There’s also a $ 19.99 prix-fixe menu that comes with an appetizer, entrée and dessert. We started with the Veggie Summer Rolls(vermicelli noodle with cucumber, carrot, chive, lettuce and mint, served with sweet peanut sauce). They were very good. We all enjoyed them. There’s a version with shrimp as well. Next I had the Tom Yum Pluk soup(vegetables with lime leaves and lemon grass in spicy and sour broth) which was good to the last drop and the Shrimp Pad Thai which I enjoyed as well. Some of the other dishes ordered were the Pad Si-Eew(choice of shrimp, chicken, beef or pork. sauteed broad noodle with broccoli, egg and dark soy sauce) which my friend really enjoyed and I tasted(yumm), a few more pad Thais and some large soups. Everyone enjoyed their meals. At one point a gentleman started playing the base on the small stage up front and a woman started singing. It was quite lovely. All in all a good experience.

We were looking for somewhere to have dinner before a show & stumbled on this little gem. The Prix Fixe had options for everyone, & the drink I ordered was well-made. We LOVED the pianist, who took requests. All in all, a great place for dinner & some casual entertainment before your night out. Also, THE cleanest bathrooms either of us have seen in NY. Ever.

One of the tastiest thai restaurants I’ve been to In New York. Had a nice, quaint New York vibe to it with live music on a Saturday night l. Ordered the summer rolls, Tom yum, beef with string beans and the flat noodles(don’t remember the name, but was the unique one on the menu). Each of the dishes was great, especially the beef and noodles which tasted truly delicious. Super friendly and interactive staff too. Will definitely go there again !

When we got there the kitchen was about to close but they still let us order a delicious soup as starter and seafood rice noodles. There was music, a very nice guy singing famous musical songs.

Cheap Thai food restaurant at the top of Times Square which isn’t swarmed with tourists at lunch time usually… They offer a bunch of options for express lunch at $ 8(which is great for the people who work around here as everything is so darn expensive!!). My dish of choice is chicken pad Thai cause I’m a noodle freak. I blame my Italianess. Every special comes with crunchy warm spring rolls. My only complaint is that they can be really slow(with one person working the dining area sometimes) so if you’re in a hurry, please make your schedule known at the very beginning.

I went to have dinner at this Thai place with my family and it definitely exceeded my expectations. First of all, I have had Thai food before, so I was expected to sit there and nibble on some second-rate noodles because everything else was too spicy(I don’t eat spicy food) but surprisingly, someone was using their brain when creating the menu. I was able to get anything I wanted without the addition of anything that made it too spicy and unbearable to eat. Even my(Tom Yam) soup was perfect! I ordered the basil beef(it’s actually pork but they were able to substitute it for beef) and it was delicious, though I have to say that it didn’t taste that much different than the average beef with vegetables in any regular Chinese restaurant. The most amazing dish I had there was the fried rice. It was indescribable! It tasted like it had been grilled. It was a mixture of all different flavors and it had a sweetness to it that was just simply amazing. I would trek all the way back to midtown just for that rice alone. The staff were kind and friendly. Our waiter was amazing. He took such great care of us and made sure that we had everything we needed. It was a bit pricey, but you have to know this being that it is in Midtown. I’d definitely go back!

The music is the best! I came here during a raining day, and I was so impress by the live music they play, the food is average above level, I had prix fixed Menu for 19.99. Spring roll is great as what I expected. Pai Thai was average, crème brûlée was okay. But I will recommended to come here for the music and long conversation with friends.

The food is good but the staff not so great. I’ve been to this place three times. If you’re not a heavy person they give you smaller portions. I like the red snapper and I noticed that my date had a much larger fish than I did. In addition the last time I went with my mom the waitress waited until our food came to tell us that they would be closing in less than an hour this was around 2pm. She then wanted me to stop eating to pay her. Who does that?

Came here for a business lunch. Very reasonable prices, given the lunch special, and the quantity of the food you get is VERY reasonable. My Pad Thai was well cooked, and decently balanced. While it wasn’t the best Pad Thai I ever had, it was quite enjoyable and I’m happy I ordered it. Sadly there was no piano music for the lunch patrons. The reviews from my fellow co-workers were varied, some were like… «eh» while others really enjoyed their orders. Shared appetizers — the fried tofu wasn’t really much of anything. The chives pancake is not cong1 yo2 bien3, but something that’s like a baked cake w/chives and some sort of starch. It had a nice crisp on the outside though. The vegetarian dumplings were uninspired and boring. The spring rolls were decent. The Thai iced tea was good, until you got to the bottom of the glass, after the ice had melted a bit, then it was weirdly bitter and strange tasting. Overall, a pretty good dining experience, especially given the portion sizes, but not the most amazing Thai food I’ve had.

I come here all the time with my coworkers for lunch whenever we’re in the mood for thai food. The service is attentive and fast, the food is delish and the express lunch is only $ 8 bucks. This comes with thai spring rolls and I usually order Chicken with Chili Basil Sauce/Fried Egg. It’s a pretty large portion considering it’s just for lunch. It’s pretty spacious and never had to wait for a table during lunch.

Against my better judgment, I stopped by this spot which was close-by to a theater we were going to later in the evening. While I usually research my restaurants, I thought we’d just try-out this place. The food was okay… I had their Chicken Red Curry, which was just alright… there was some great flavor from the curry and fairly well seasoned chicken, but the onions and bamboo shoots tasted«off»…almost like plastic. The other odd thing about this spot is that Thai restaurants usually serve entrees with a fork and spoon, and it didn’t really make sense to have a curry dish with a fork and knife, which is how all the tables were set. It’s a piano bar so you can hear some classical pop tunes in the background, which is definitely different. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this restaurant unless you really wanted Thai food and couldn’t find any other options in the area.

I went to Tom and Toon for the lunch buffet that a number of folks touted on Unilocal!,but, sadly, when I got there, I found they no longer had it. Very tragic, indeed, because I miss the Thai buffet I used to go to all of the time in North Carolina. At any rate, even though they no longer had the lunch buffet, my friends and I decided to stay and have one of their regular lunch specials instead. I ordered the Pad Thai, which tasted okay enough, but the serving size was very small. And, you know what that means – I was still way hungry after that meal. That is one of my biggest pet peeves(especially since I had saved up my hunger for a buffet that they no longer had). A friend of mine, David, who dined with us that day as well, also complained of the small portion size. As for atmosphere, the inside of Tom and Toon is nice. Also, I hear they feature live cabaret style music at night. Maybe that’s a better time to go, but I don’t think I’ll be returning any time soon for lunch… that is, unless they bring the buffet back!

Really people? This place didn’t even come close to impressing me. *Smelled of some sort of chemical or mildew *Lunch menu veggie pad thai was not very good at all *Spring rolls were good *They were out of half of what was ordered at the table *Waitress had a very hard time understanding what we were ordering and we ended up with an extra order of spring rolls which when we called out as a mistake, were told«too late» *Four people ordering the lunch special and edamame(along with this extra order of spring rolls) came to $ 75 with tip There is a keyboard in there that someone likely plays at some point or another. There is also a «People on Unilocal Love Us» sticker in the window(Speaking of which, do business get to purchase those? Or are they awarded?), and we thought since the Thai place next door had closed down we might be in lucky. Unfortunately we weren’t on the money there. Do yourself a favor and walk over one or two more avenues for some authentic, inexpensive, kickbutt Thai food in HK.
