Update: Sigh. I really want to support veggies. I really like the food. I’m a new vegetarian and it’s convenient. But the customer service is consistently pretty bad. The young man with locs who works occasionally and the owners are pleasant but there are two young women that work there that make you feel as if you are inconveniencing them by patroning the business. You’re lucky if they say hello before they take your order. The food is still good. But I have stopped dining here as much because of the declining customer service. ******* This is my go to juice spot in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and from the community and they have a wide variety of offerings. I also LOVE the Jerk Salmon salad. It’s soooo delicious. I’ve ordered the salmon burger but I wasn’t too impressed with that but enjoyed the Yuca fries that came with it. The veggie patties is also with giving a try. I’m happy this place is here, we need health conscious options on the block.

This place is really yummy. The prices are kind of expensive but the food is healthy.

Taking my rating down a notch. The food is still delicious and the people who work here are very nice, but the last 3 – 4 times I’ve been in there have been problems with the service. One time, they didn’t see me because I was sitting at the front table behind a plant, so they canceled my order. I waited a total of 25 min for my order that day. 3 other times, they forgot to enter my order, so I had to wait a long time for a simple order. Also, the hours are very loose-y goosey so you can never count on them opening at the same time everyday. And do not count on them to have coffee. I’ve tried to order coffee on 3 occasions only for them to say they hadn’t started it yet, even though they had already been open over an hour. Hoping they can pull it together a little bit cause I want them to stay in business and be successful.

Stumbled upon this place and it was empty when we came in and ordered but shortly after got crowded. We had great food, good service, and are overall thankful for the quality of food and the availability of healthy options it brings to the area. Love the jungle tropic feel, too.

Every single time I visit my daughter the first thing I do is get a smoothie here. Usually the last thing I do before I get back on the subway(on the corner so convenient) is grab a smoothie here. Im partial to anything with pineapples and mangoes because summer but the veggie juices are righteous too. I am yet to eat any of the food tho. That jerked salmon seems fabulous so maybe… But definitely the smoothies.

This place is perf! It’s counterpart is on Franklin Ave(just juices). Happy to have this on Nostrand with food options — all of which are delicious! I love the staff, they are so cool and family-like. I’ve left one star off simply because they can use more staff and organization to allow the restaurant run faster, more efficiently. I’ve seen some impatient yuppies giving heavy sighs for the wait of their food. Other than that — I am happy to always stop here when I am in the vicinity and get some yummy, healthy food! xoxo

Last time going to this place, and I gave it several tries mostly out of desperation for something resembling healthy in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, it’s only overpriced($ 3 for a mediocre patty? gtfo) with service that leaves A LOT to be desired. First: vegans beware! This place seems to want to offer vegan options, but just can’t be bothered to fully commit to having those options available. I am not vegan, but I like my fruit smoothies with a plain water base and no added sweeteners. After I ordered and tasted my surprisingly sweet smoothie, the girl behind the counter tells me they put honey in all their smoothies… even though that was advertised absolutely nowhere –___-. Stuff like that really, really bothers me. What if I were vegan? Or allergic? Or what if I simply wanted to be aware of all that was going into my food? Second: the service is off-putting. The guy behind the counter acts as though he is too busy and too bothered to help customers navigate the menu or to answer any of their questions. The place isn’t crowded enough to not give customers at least a second of your attention. Third: they are stingy as hell with their napkins.

Won’t go back. My Food was pretty good(well, what I actually got from what I ordered was decent) — but service is seriously lacking. It should never take 50 minutes for anyone to make a burrito. It was not busy, and 4 people who ordered after me all got their food before me. To add insult to injury, when my food finally came out, my yucca fries were never made so I needed to get my money back for those. There was never any explanation for why this happened, but my guess is that someone completely forgot the put the order in and once they realized I had been waiting 30 minutes, they began making it(it still took 20 minutes beyond that, however.) To the guy behind the counter’s defense, it seems like he was just delegated a little more than he could handle, it shouldn’t be one persons’ job to take orders, make smoothies, serve tables, and grab peoples take out food. It’s a shame because it took me months to finally give this place a try, and as a vegetarian I am always looking for healthy options. But I can never imagine a day where I will be ok with waiting nearly an hour for a burrito that could be made elsewhere in 5 minutes.

I am surprised that this place actually gets crowded. I got a $ 6.50 cup of a very warm beet juice. I will walk on by next time

This place needs some help. I’ve been working in the restaurant industry for far too many years now, and I can tell when a place needs some reworking. Let me start with the positives: the food! I’ve been here a few times and the food has always amazed me. The jerk salmon is some of the most delicious Salmon I’ve ever had. The veggie patties are amazing. The sweet potato pancakes are so inventive and delicious. The food always comes out in a timely manner and the consistency is great. Okay, time for the bad part: the service. The first time I dined there, the person behind the counter took my juice order and my money and then had some people behind me in the line. After she took their orders she completely forgot about my juice. She was apologetic and nice when I mentioned it to her, it really was no problem. The second time I came in there, the place was busy. There was a girl working behind the counter, and another girl, I think she is a busser. She was polishing silverware. She really was not being helpful to the girl behind the counter, who clearly needed help making the juices. The girl behind the counter asked the other girl for help with the juices. There was no manager to be seen. Later on I see what I assume is the manager come into the restaurant with some fruits and vegetables. She sees the other girl behind the counter, and I heard her say to the employee, «you know she doesn’t do that!» This made me upset because clearly that girl was working hard and she really needed the help. Why would you have an employee who«doesn’t do that?» Everyone should help each other out. If he manager didn’t want that employee making the drinks, then she should have been there to assist her staff. Today, I came to the restaurant and the place was busy. The guy behind the counter was working by himself with the same girl. The guy is doing literally everything and you can see he is flustered. A customer came up to him and had to ask for his drink because I guess he waited a long time already and needed to go. Another girl had the same problem, waited too long for a drink and just asked the guy if she could take an apple and leave. The guy refunds the money for her drink but denies her the apple, saying, «we don’t sell them.» What great service!!! The guy behind the counter is busy taking drink orders and writes them down on pieces of paper so he doesn’t forget to make them, but he physically cannot make the drinks fast enough doing all the other things he needs to do. The restaurant needs to have a printer so that he can input the orders into the POS and have tickets printed with the drink orders so he doesn’t waste precious seconds writing orders down, and it needs a dedicated person to just make the juices when the place is busy. When it came time for food service, I watched the other girl bring tables(including mine) their food, without silverware. She will stare and not smile at all. I asked her for a fork and knife and she just stared at me and turned around! In this industry, it is critical to make your guests feel welcome If this girl cannot pull her weight at the restaurant then management needs to hire another person to assist when the restaurant gets busy. I will keep coming to this restaurant because the food is good but I hope management realizes that their front of house needs help and needs more organization. I wish them the best.

I love this place. They’re vegan patties are the best! Since going vegan I had been missing Jamaican beef patties and this was such a great discovery for me. The service is always great, and the prices are reasonable. I found some of the food to be a bit salty for my taste(and I love salt), so if you’re sensitive tell them to go easy on it.

All I can say is Jerk Salmon Salad. Now that I have a choice for healthy take-out, I can get in better shape for 2015.

This place is healthy, reasonably priced and I, unlike previous reviewers, thought the staff was VERY friendly. A male employee asked me how my food was after I’d finished, which I think is atypical for places without waiter/waitress service. All humans with taste buds are highly encouraged to try the salmon burger. Delish.

I’m happy to have this great healthier option in the neighborhood! And the prices are reasonable that I don’t feel too badly popping in to grab a veggie burger(delicious though a bit on the spicy side) or a vegan patty with a salad. All the vegetables and fruits are so wonderfully fresh and most dishes are made to order(which means it’s a little slower than other spots on Nostrand). Not the friendliest counter folks – but not a complete turn-off.

The food is pretty good. The staff seems friendly except for one of the owners. She is SOOOORUDE ! I do not believe she has ever had experience working with the public. She has no social and professional skills. They just opened and I do not think I will be going back in the near future.

I love this location too! Service was top notch, great management, and its bigger than the Franklin Ave location. I had a green smoothie and a coffee cake. All baked goods are vegan. The coffee cake was delicious, only thing I didn’t like about it was the extra sugar sprinkled on top. The Green smoothie was good too, well balanced w/fruit and veg. Can’t wait to try the hot food, cold sandwiches an salads. My favorite is their burrito that I had in their first spot, It’s made its way to this location thankfully. When I went they didn’t have Wifi, but they should have it by the time this review is published. Go check them out, it will be worth your time and money. Bed-Stuy NEEDED a reliable juice bar and vegan/vegetarian eatery, to give folks a healthy option to everything else around the way.
