Wow, cannot believe it! Registered a complaint wth corporate a week ago. They said the location would get in touch to compensate me. To date, nothing. Called again. They said they could do nothing. Will never buy KFC again. Complaint; Went in for normal. Charged me extra for chicken and shorted me wings. Asked for lemon, insisted on giving me chocolate and denied me senior discount. Plus refused to give me tableware and sauces and butter plus food cold. When I told them everything was cold they shrugged their shoulders.

First, a bit of history… I used to love KFC, as it’s legendary and was always the best. This was always a special treat while growing up in the 1970s & ‘80s and either visiting Grandparents, or having them visit us. My Grandparents always knew that us kids ALWAYS had KFC on our minds, so they would say in their prominent tone of voice«Let’s go get some food from Colonel Sanders. Back at home, my Father would purposely pretend to get lost driving us kids somewhere, getting us all freaked out, when he really had it in his agenda to take us to KFC(«Kentucky Fried Chicken» back in that day) IFWEWEREGOOD(and we were then really stoked). Today, I am trying to figure out how I’ve been bad because this has become just another«fast food joint» that has gone to the dumps. When I go to this particular KFC, I usually get stiff and dry as cardboard chicken(if you can call it that) that looks, feels and tastes as old as last year’s land fill recipe. I wouldn’t even feed it to prisoners(that would violate the Eighth Amendment’ cruel and unusual punishment clause). I cook 90% of the time, and it’s common knowledge that this cannot match home cooking, but once in a while it’s nice to go out. Not here. With all that history mentioned(I like history), I am not one to give bad reviews either, ESPECIALLY about employees, but these people could show some motivation and better service. There was one I really liked, and it’s my understanding that she is on her way to much better things(gee I wonder why). She gave OUTSTANDING service to her customers, but that was long ago. I moved out of state since then, and back again, and have come here multiple times in the past six months, and my orders have been wrong just about every time. Coming in from another state, at least the service and quality is better elsewhere, so I haven’t lost complete faith(hence the two stars), but I would give this particular KFC here a one. Sadly though, I haven’t been to a KFC that can get even 4 stars Please do better, and show some motivation, I certainly would, otherwise, it’s disregarding to the customer base and the history of this organization. Although the Colonel is long gone, if one of his family members came in, would he/she be served dry cardboard in that way? I would hope not. And another thing, there can NEVER be another Colonel. As to pricing, EVERYTHING is overpriced, wherever you go.

This store is terrible. The employees are rude, careless, immature, and improperly trained. They always mess up our orders, not have the regular items we want available during the lunch or dinner hours. Different cashiers always ring up our order higher than what it should be and the prices are never the same. I’m always completing the surveys and even called to raise the concerns with the manager. But nothing has improved at this store. I end up going the Fremont Blvd location which is farther away but their service is so much better and they have the items available we want at the same price every time.

I’m not usually one to give reviews, and definitely not bad reviews, but it’s also not often that an eating establishment has messed up my «food» so completely. I am being generous when I use the term«food» because I usually associate that word with something that I can actually eat. I’ve had boxes of frozen fried chicken from the supermarket that were infinitely better than the leather I brought home tonight. The service was prompt and polite enough and, if I could feed a table of guests with«good service» alone, I’d not be writing this review. I walked in with a coupon for 10 pieces of drumsticks/thighs for 11.99 and ordered two buckets of original recipe. The person taking the order was careful enough to confirm with me a few times that I wanted only legs and thighs and also checked if they had enough to fulfill the order. In just a few minutes my order was ready and I took my two buckets home. It was at this point that everything went downhill. My guest, who took the first bite, commented«hey this chicken is kind of crispy, weren’t you ordering original?» My second guest pulled out a piece and commented«wow, these pieces are huge.» At that point I took a bite out of my own piece of chicken and everything made sense. You see, the chicken was crispy not because of how skillfully it was made, or because they gave me crispy by mistake, and the chicken was not so big because kfc used some hormone freak breed of giant chicken. No. The chicken was crispy because it must have sat in some warming oven/kiln for way too long and the pieces were so big because they were breast pieces(while others were wing pieces). There were just a couple(two) pieces of thigh and maybe five drumsticks out of the two buckets. The piece of breast that I tried to eat was completely dry and stringy. I made the mistake of swallowing it and I can still feel it trying to make its way down my throat as I sit here typing. My second bite I couldn’t chew through and, after gnashing and gnawing at it for a while, my jaws got tired and I ran out of saliva so I had to spit it out(impressively, I had barely made a dent in it.) I abandoned the breast piece and tried a wing only to find it equally difficult to chew, though I did manage to swallow it. The final piece I tried, a leg, was no better. Everyone else at the dinner table stopped after their first few bites and I’m left with a bucket and a half of chicken jerky. I’ve ordered here before and it’s never been either consistent or had the highest quality(for kfc) but tonight, things have sunken to a whole new low.

It’s not a well lit area and parking is a bit sketchy especially at night. It’s located right next to a church and they don’t have drive thru. With that said, dinnertime was always a dilemma and we just decided to grab some food to go here. There’s only two(girls) working here at the time of our visit and both of them were very nice. It was kind of busy but the service was fast, the cashier was friendly and the girl working the back even apologized for the delay. Anyway, chicken was hot off the fryer and mashed potatoes was well mashed ^_^.

I had not had KFC in YEARS… but on one of those lazy weeknights i decided to go back and get something for dinner. I had their chicken strip meal, which comes with mashed potatoes, three chicken strips, a biscuit and a chocolate chip cookie. Their assistant manager was on the register and was very friendly. I was surprised to see how clean their dining area was. The food was good but i am deducting two stars because they placed the cookie on top of the mashed potatoes container and by the time i got home, there was chocolate chip goo all over the place.

My aunt was hungry and wanted some fast food, so we stopped by this KFC. We were there about 40 minutes before closing, so there aren’t much options left. 1 star for the food. Ordered 10 pieces of fried chicken, they are a little cold and the crusts are soften. I know it was around closing time, but we did expect the chicken to taste better than that. After-all around $ 16 for 10 pieces of fried chicken in a fast food restaurant is over expensive. However I give 3 stars to this KFC. Because the cashier that took our order worth 5 stars! She patiently answered our questions with a warm smile when my aunt try to check the details of every available option.

This specific KFC refuses to honor the KFC coupons from the Newark Memorial High School fund raising coupon book we purchased. I’ll post a picture of the big sign announcing this which was on their counter. I can’t help but think this action is driving away more of their local Newark customer base than the few pennies the cheap owner is saving by not honoring the coupon. Dumb business and shame on you for not supporting your community Thornton KFC.

This is my third(3) visit to the Newark, CA Kentucky Fried Chicken(KFC). As a loyal KFC Customer purchasing Chicken from various different other KFC, we’ve recently frequented the Newark KFC for the Monday $ 2.99 Special which includes 2 Pieces of Chicken(Leg & Thigh) 1 Corn on the Cob, 1 Small Mashed Potato, and finally 1 Biscuit. Today’s visit was really appalling, the Customer Service was absolutely horrible making my visit horrible and disappointing. The cashier this time that took our order was someone different than usual, wasn’t there the last 2 visits but, she was friendly, gave us the greeting«Hi, Welcome to KFC». Although her voice was very soft spoken, we could still sorta hear her. But apparently she could hardly hear me because I asked for 2 Apple Pies and she responded by saying we don’t have any Pot Pies!!! I mean even though that’s not what I wanted, how can a KFC not have any Pot Pies!!! Not to mention every time we go to this particular KFC, the cashiers always say for the Apple Pies it will be about 5 minutes, which is always a lie, it’s usually 15 minutes… when at other KFC’s they have Apple Pies ready to go!!! We ordered 3 Monday Special’s and simply requested them to be all thighs for all 3. The cashier overcharged us for 1 Monday Special, she us like $ 6.95 or something… we brought this to her attention, and she said we were right… go figure. She then said, can we just give you extra chicken in each box? We said yes, so we should have received 6 pieces total, 3 in each box. We checked our boxes and sure enough it was only 2 in each! We told the guy packing the orders that it should be 3 in the box, he asked the cashier she confirmed it b/c she overcharged us, he refused and said no, because«I didn’t agree to that». Worst KFC Ever! Will not be returning to this KFC!

They don’t have any chicken breasts. It takes 20 – 30 minutes to cook a pot pie. They have shorted us chicken at least 12 times in the past.

Disappointing. For whatever reason this place has gone downhill. They’ve messed up my order numerous times to the point where I ALWAYS check my takeout before I leave the premises. Lots of times they run out of whatever I want. I think this place is poorly managed.

This KFC location disappointed me. They close at 10pm but I came in at 8:30pm and they ran out of food. There was a line of customers but the kitchen refused to cook. The cashier in the front said they would not cook anymore because every time they cook it have to be a whole batch. I wanted my refund back, no one there can do it but the manager. The manager was no where to be seen. I have to wait for the manager to come back for me to get my money back. Lack of experience, very lazy cook Zero star!!!

The place itself is small and the parking can be a pain, but the service was good. The woman before me ordered a ton of chicken, so I had to wait 15 or so minutes while new chicken cooked. The woman at the register gave me a free drink while I waited. Free soda and freshly cooked chicken… Fine by me.

I had to wait 35 minutes for my order of «14 pc boneless chicken»…I think they had to capture & kill a live chicken first… service is the worst of all of the KFC in the Alameda County… bar none. All of the employees seems to be walking in a comatose state similar to the movie, «The Night Of The Living Dead». If you ask the cashier a question she will just stare right thru you like a zombie.
