The best authentic Chinese food you can get I have been told by the patrons who were mostly Chinese… good sign. This was my second visit. Will be back.

Best service in any restaurant within 20 miles from this place. I recommend this place to all people… They even have vegetarian options for people like me. Great food overall.

Best around! I’m sitting here eating my dinner now and couldn’t finish before I wrote this review. The service is excellent. The food is amazing!!! I came here from Simi for a business meeting nearby, stopped in for dinner after the meeting and I will be a regular here. The sweet & sour chicken has a perfect glaze on it… Not a red clump of syrup thrown on to the plate but a perfect amount that allows you to taste the chicken with the sauce. I haven’t had to ask for anything as the servers are very attentive. This is an A++ in my book. I will be back. If you are looking for Chinese food that is amazing. It’s here.

AMAZING!!! I am here with my wife and I just had to write this. The food is amazing and the prices are very affordable. We will definitely be back. We live in Simi and would easily drive out here again & again.

Mandarin Bistro is only getting four stars instead of five and here is why. CLOSEDMONDAYS! This is ridiculous. Other than that, this is my favorite place for Chinese food. It’s a shame how many Mondays we have had to go elsewhere when where we really wanted to go was Mandarin Bistro.

This might be my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The menu is very comprehensive, and contains all the usual favorites, with many more additional options to try. The menu pictures are presented well, and accurate, and the place looks nice and clean, which is refreshing considering many chinese places look run-down and dirty. Our waiter was extremely nice, and the service was exceptional. He recommended a lot of good dishes to try like the beef short ribs, which were absolutely delicious. If you’re feeling very adventurous, try the bitter melon. While I hated it, a couple people in my party did enjoy it. Parking is free, easy, and abundant. This restaurant is located in a not-so-busy shopping center, with an Albertsons. Go ahead and give this place a try!

Had the walnut shrimp, spicy shrimp, fried rice and sho mi. Everything was cooked to perfection, authentic Chinese wok cooking done this well is hard to find in our neck of the woods. The service was spot on! This was our second visit here and we can’t wait to come back for our third.

I love this place. We have been going here since it opened and the food is just so consistently good. We went for Chinese New Year and really enjoyed the fried pork chops(reminds this southern girl of chicken fried steak). The atmosphere is busy and casual, but we always get a great meal here. Best to go with a big group so you can really try everything. A gem of Chinese food in the Conejo!

This place has great Chinese food and one of the few places to have Dim Sum. The place was clean friendly staff and above average food. The orange chicken was great!

Time to update my review… I actually do like this restaurant a lot but recently I feel that it’s no longer my first choice to go there. Food is still good and service is still good. But I think the owner is getting a little greedy and taking advantage of the customers. Price is very high. Three people ordering three entrees [not seafood] with rice will now cost you over $ 50!!! Also they changed the rice to a small bowl instead of a large pot like it used to be. Their average price on a plate is now close or over $ 15. It’s really on the high side and because there isn’t much competitions around so they are getting away with it!!! All in all, food is shrinking but price is rising… not very honest. I don’t appreciate that kind of business practice at all. So I will not recommend this to other people anymore!

Everything is good, service is quick and attentive offering excellent suggestions. We ordered the Eggplant, Beef and Basil clay pot for $ 14.00 and that was my favorite, I get this same type of dish at Thai restaurants with just a slight flavor difference. Also loved the Shrimp, Beef, and chicken noodles lunch entrée which runs from 11−4pm daily with prices averaging from $ 6.25−11.00. The beef pockets which are similar to empanadas are excellent with savory beef and onions in a nice crisp dough. You can order these with different meat choices. My daughter really wanted Phở– so she got the chicken with glass noodles and that was good it comes in a big bowl that can serve 3 people. The menu is large with such a variety.

I was in a hurry and wanted something tasty for lunch. Walked in ordered the sesame pocket with pork(the one with cilantro & hoisin). The server(s) were very nice and accommodating. Now to the food. Living in Venice I’m deprived of good Chinese food and this meal was so tasty. My only complaint is that it’s not located in my neighborhood!

Excellent Chinese cuisine! Many dishes close to fine restaurant quality. $ 6+ lunches have good meat dishes, but for discerning palates, go for more authentic plates. Off-menu options even better, just ask! Excellent: Crispy pepper fried tofu, walnut shrimps, Good: garlic and almond chicken, deep fried crispy duck, deluxe fried rice, crispy noodles, garlic and almond chicken, sesame pockets(beef better than pork).

This place is amazing, not only is the food amazing but the staff are so friendly! I am gluten free, so the idea of Chinese food being gluten free was comical. But for the first time in 4 years, I ate Chinese food!!! We ordered the beef and broccoli, chicken lettuce wraps, and an egg soup. It was delicious and big portions, so you’ll have enough leftovers for another meal. This is definitely a must try, you won’t regret it!!!

Short story: Avoid the restaurant, it’s not worth it due to multiple horrible experiences. The service will disappoint you and they show favoritism with regulars who come often. Note to Mandarin Bistro, treat all your customers equally! Long story: I have been going here for about 3 years consistently since it’s one of the best Chinese food in the area. Though recently it is getting worse where I will not likely be going back. On September 12th, 2015 I had the worse experience ever at the restaurant. I had called in for a phone order for takeout. I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes which was just the beginning of their issues. When the person came back he said, «Hey! You’re actually still there?» Uhm yea I’m still waiting on the phone as you never placed me on hold and I could hear you chatting in the background. But I’m glad you came back. Order was taken and was told it be 15 – 20 minutes max. I show up about 25 minutes later with being somewhat busy but not the worse I’ve seen there. One of the waiters asked what I am here for which I replied for pickup. He looked around and said no you didn’t order anything here. I told him I did and I just called about 25 minutes ago, can you verify? Then another waiter rudely said, «Are you sure you didn’t call another place? You called the wrong place I bet!» Why thank you to the wait staff for assuming I called the wrong place and made me look like an idiot with strangers in the restaurants. I am Asian myself and typically Asians are not that great at customer service(not trying to stereotype but come on we know some places can be horrible at service), but really… talking down isn’t necessary. After showing them my phone and the recent call history with their number, they were able to find a clipboard with my order written down. It was really nice of the initial waiter to respond, «Yes! I see your order now, don’t show me your phone, let me see… let me see. *sigh*». Well definitely appreciate the nice gesture that you told me I called the wrong place so I was just trying to show you I did not. Some this is my fault I guess? The waiter says give me 2 minutes I have to take other orders on the phone… wow so my order taken 25 minutes ago is now less priority to the current phone orders coming in. Great management system… bravo bravo! Now I’m ready to give me up on my order but it was really nice of their cashier girl who I overheard her name was Jessica. Now Jessica immediately was trying to see what was going on and completely took over the situation. She apologized, was polite and sincere, and most importantly put in my order so the kitchen could start cooking it. After being at the restaurant for 20 minutes(plus the 25 minutes I called before arriving there), my order was finally in! Not done but just starting to cook. In the end, thank you very much Jessica for being so kind and representing what true customer service should be. Not once did I yell, make any rude comments, show any rude behavior towards the staff and only one person there actually was sincere to me.

Very nice décor, quite enjoyable, stylish, and not typical for a Chinese restaurant. We shared Kon Pao, a chicken dish with peanuts and a tasty sauce, plus honey walnut shrimp, which was covered with an interesting white sauce. Both were generous servings, interesting ingredients, and a nice upgrade from standard Chinese fare. Extensive menu. We had exceptional service, both efficient and friendly. We came back for dinner three nights later with the whole family. Again, terrific food. Service was a bit slower with a big crowd, but still attentive and friendly.

Great choice for Chinese food in the area. They have great lunch specials as well as dinner choices that get the job done for your food needs. The authenticity of the food will have your taste buds impressed as well as your flavor profile. The noodle choices are a can’t miss and will not leave you disappointed. Parking is in the mini mall and is a non issue. Service is great as this husband and wife team will make sure you are taken care of and your needs are met.

Dang such a random place for a solid Chinese food restaurant. I definitely recommend trying the Sesame Pockets, a pretty rare find in California in my honest opinion. Try whatever style, you can mix and match the 8 pockets. Everything else that I’ve tried here has been pretty solid in quality and quantity. The Crispy Noodles are pretty recommended. They also have some daily specials that might be worth your interest as well. I really appreciated the service, though maybe they were overly helpful, but I’d honestly rather have too much help rather than no help at all.
