Nice place(and maybe the only) to grab breakfast in Newman. Good prices, nice portions and friendly service.

Great little town and lovely people. Great place to stop through. The food was all right but really not great. They went way to heavy on the onions. This is not going to be a place I would return to.

Been here a handful of times with family and once as I was passing through town. I agree with the other reviewers. the food is hit or miss but yummy all the same(My mom’s chicken sandwich was a little under cooked and my hash browns were burnt pretty badly), but the servers are VERY nice ladies and the place has a cool, cute, small town vibe with the old school soda fountain seating when you first walk in and a bunch of locals/farmers sitting around socializing. I’d definitely visit again!

Each time we eat here my husband gets diarrhea — no matter what he eats! I don’t problems with the food but I’m not a fan of the prices. Too high priced for the quality of the food. But when you don’t want to cook breakfast it’s what is available in town for breakfast.

My husband, mother & I all went to The Grille for Valentine’s dinner this year. My husband & I ordered Prime Rib & my mother ordered Sirloin Steak & all I have to say is it was the most delicious prime rib we have had in a very long time. My mother’s sirloin steak was so big that she had enough for the next day & it was just as delicious as the night before. The service was very good as it always is. I have to confess that we were not happy with the food at the Grille for awhile & stopped going. Decided to try again & have been very happy with the food & service but the Valentine’s dinner was thhe absolute best. They close at 2:00 p.m. daily but stay open for dinner on Fridays and after that great meal we just may be going to dinner at The Grille more often.

Over priced IMO. I took my two toddlers for breakfast, which they shared. I had an omelette and coffee, and the kids had juice. It was $ 25 for the three of us, which I could have gotten past if the following didn’t happen. In the middle of breakfast the kids had to potty so I tracked down my server to inform her we’d be in the restroom, figuring since there’s only 3 people working the floor they’d be able to communicate. We get back to the table and napkins and silverware are piled on my kids plates. I look around and one of the ladies working looks shocked to see me at the table and says oh sorry I thought you left. Do you want me to remake his plate? My only other comment about the meal was the mushrooms in the omelet tasted like they were sautéed for a steak topper. I’ve been here a handful of times in the past and it’s hit and miss with the food. I think you’re better off driving north to the farmers den.

In a small town is is hard to even find a restaurant. The Grill is a good restaurant in a small town. They only serve dinner on Friday nights however the breakfast and lunch are worth coming for also there is a Sunday breakfast buffet which is a good deal at $ 9.95

The Grill is a nice little café in town. The food is good and the service is usually ok. The prices are a little high, but not too bad. My problem with the Grill is the limited hours, they close early, and they serve Pepsi. They use to serve coke.

First thing I want to say about this place is how bad their cups smell! I could not even finish my drink because my cup smelled so bad like egg it made me not want to drink it! Service is slow! Took about 10 – 15 before we got our drinks! Linguica sandwitch was ehhhh… Basically just a toasted bread with linguica in it and no lettuce, onion or any condiment. I will definitely not be coming back. For the money I spent I better at least be able to drink my drink without the gross smell of a dirty cup!

The Grille looked to be our best bet for lunch in Newman. The food wasn’t bad… I had a vegetable grill cheese sandwich and a salad.

They are only open until 2 pm or else it would be a 4 star, there is no dinner only morning and lunch. Just a small town diner that is trying to do its best to keep it clean and respectable to the franchise named places. I recommend the french dip and chicken sandwhich to everyone who comes. The service is not the greatest beause they are short staffed, very understandable.

The Grille is a little coffee shop in Newman near Main St. It’s actually the only coffee shop in town, but I must admit it is a very small town. Anyway, the breakfast is the best meal to eat there, the pancakes are huge, buttery and delicious. The hashbrowns are super yummy too. The lunch menu is just ok(which is why I am not giving it 4 stars), my favorite pick for lunch is the chicken strips platter. The chicken strips are cooked perfectly and you get them with salad and fries. The only down side is that the restaurant closes at 2pm, so no dinner! It’s a nice place to eat because it has that small town feel and if you’ve been there a few times the people there recognize you. On top of all these other great things, it is cheap! My husband and I eat there for $ 20. Overall, it’s a good place to eat.
