This location is my favorite! I have been a loving Chronic Tacos fan for over 10 years when I first moved to Newport.
Quality has always been excellent, service is quick and the staff is friendly. I have plenty of memories that wouldn’t be the same without these burritos in hand!

Definitely the best chronic tacos around. The ingredients are all high quality and the service is always speedy. Can’t go wrong with the breakfast burritos, carne asada salads, and horchata! All so delicious. Chronic tacos is my number one place to eat in this shopping center!

This place used to be good but the woman who works there now is rude and cheap! New owners??? This is not just one experience either. If I want double meat give it to me it’s my money!!! Sheesh!!!

Great service, very friendly. Recommend the AL pastor burrito. I would come again. Get the free chips and salsa on Unilocal when you check in. Did this review for a free burrito :^)

If you are going to go to chronic you should go to this location. The food and staff are far better than any other location. The girl that served me today (I feel awful I didn’t get a name) was fantastic. Let me know about promotions like adding my number to make points as well as the special.
My favorite is the carnitas nachos. So so good and big enough to share (I have not found this to be true at other cronic stores).

Of all the Chronic Taco locations, this is the one that you want to go to.
I have tried a few of the other locations, and they don’t stack up in terms of consistency in flavor and freshness.
I’ve been coming here for roughly the past 10 years, whenever I’m in the area and looking for a burrito fix (… and of course, it pairs up well with the pristine local beaches).
I go with a specific combo:
Carne Asada — They seem to have some other tasty meats, but I enjoy the seasoning and greasiness of their Carne Asada.
The rest — No beans, spanish rice, cheese, little bit of cilantro, couple pinches of lime, and hot + medium salsa. I do love my guac, but I don’t like to infiltrate the delicate balance of this burrito with said texture, that aside, go for it!
I stopped in here last week around 8:30pm on a weekday to get a post-​climbing burrito. As always, I was stoked for my burrito and complimented on the quality. The guy who was serving me made a remark and looked visibly irritated when I decided that I would like to get a 2^nd burrito to go, towards the end of my order.
Bummer.

I’m chronic.
My idea of Mex fast food cuz it’s fast! Fish and shrimp tacos are great and good sized portions. Line can be long but moves pretty quickly. Guys are always nice if you’re nice to them. Very reasonably priced. Everything in the lineup of toppings is very fresh looking. Lots of choices and they help you choose if your a newbie. Most people take out as not much seating, limited parking too.
For a chain this is exceptional quality. I’ve never been to any other CT but this one. Whoever came up with the name definitely knows the meaning of chronic!

Great place to get tacos! Went here today for taco Tuesday! 2 bucks a taco! Hard to beat since my wife literally works near by. Unfortunately don’t expect to eat here because they have limited seating. Pastor, carnitas and nachos are definitely filling! They literally stack on meat and everything else you want!
Would definitely come back for a taco fix. Two tacos is honestly pretty filling!

I have been to many chronic tacos and this one is the best! At other places I have to say can you please add a little more or I feel bad ordering my food cus I add everything to my bowl or chronic fries. Here they embrace my taste buds and help me modify my meal. I had aaron and he was on point :) he melted the cheese and was really nice! Dina the manager is really nice too cus she explained the process of the set up of different chronic tacos which showed me she knee her stuff! Everyone was smiling and having a good time like they wanted to be here unlike the other ones where the crew looks miserable. Parking is easy and even though there isn’t much seating there’s so much seating at the beach across the street!!!
I am so excited I came here and am excited to come back and grub some more in the near future. I hope aaron is here but if he isn’t I know I am in good hands since there are so many regulars and the staff knew their orders and names.
I feel like family here and the food tastes amazing! I got to finish this review to eat my food which I thought I couldn’t finish but am almost done with!

Bomb street tacos! They are so good! Small place though to order food but the quality is great :)

Update: this review is based on the Irvine Avenue location, not this one! Taco info still applies but I haven’t experienced the service firsthand.
Incredibly kind service, huge tacos ($ 1.99 each on taco Tuesday with lots of guacamole included), need I say more?
The woman who served me was a sweetheart, and everyone working there was incredibly friendly. I felt so welcomed!
When we got home to try the tacos, we were 100% sold on this place. Both the chicken and carne asada are super flavorful, and the tacos were loaded with everything we had asked for. I will most certainly back for Taco Tuesday quite soon!

I was in this afternoon on a Saturday. There was a customer ahead of me who was angry, but it seemed unjustified. The staff seemed to handle the situation REALLY well. It was REALLY busy. The line was out the door. The situation seemed to be resolved and people in line were pleased to get their food in a timely fashion. I love coming here. It’s unusual to see a situation here, but I’m glad it was handled quickly and resolved. I’m ALWAYS very pleased with the quick and attentive service at this location.

My burrito was spot on. So filling!!! They did run out of fish and shrimp… so I added a mix of chicken and steak. Very satisfying!!!

This is the original Chronic Tacos that started it all and the one I’ve visited the most times over the many years I’ve gone to Chronic.
Chronic has always been decently good and kinda cool because you can make your own burrito and select what you want in it just like subway!
This location is super small and is pretty much just the counter to order food at. They have two or three stools inside and not much room to chill and eat your food so be prepared to go somewhere else to enjoy your deliciousness!
We were here about 11:30 last night and I was kinda surprised they were still open which is totally cool because when driving home along PCH there isn’t many places that are open late!
They also have one of those super cool coke machines that have all the flavors in it. Me I’m totally a fan of those as I think it’s cool they have soo many flavor choices including my favorite ginger ale!
Generally when I come to Chronic i get an asada burrito and get everything in it with extra salsa it’s always been good and fills you up!
At some point in the future I will return to this location or another Chronic when I’m craving the goodness that they provide!

This is a crave-​worthy local chain running all around Orange County that gives you all the guiltless pleasure you’d want from your Mexican food. (And sometimes, you can’t deny it!)
I was with a couple of my friends in the Newport area and had been scavenging for a quick food place. We ended up in this «janky”/rundown plaza with Flame Broiler, a Donut Shop and Chronic Tacos. We were craving Mexican food and I decided to order 3 tacos while my friends ordered a California Burrito.
This place is more of a drop-​by, order and go kind of restaurant, as the wait isn’t entirely long but not entirely quick as well (steady inflow of customers). I ordered a Beer Battered Fish Taco, a Grilled Shrimp Taco and a Potato Taco (Papas Taco). ALL insanely delicious. The fish and shrimp tacos were made Baja Style (which were normal and fitting for these tacos). I was surprised at how filling the two tacos were, as the beer battered fish filets were tasty and well-​sized, while the grilled shrimp just BURST with flavor! Some lime and/​or hot sauce adds to the flavor. The potato/​papas taco was a Chronic Favorite and was a deep-​fried shell with the potato inside – DELISH. Albeit, I’ve had cleaner and tastier papas tacos elsewhere, but for the price, taste and easy-​convience, this place is a solid Mexican food fix. My friends also seemed to indulge in their California burritos.
This place isn’t entirely gourmet, but it also doesn’t hurt your wallet too much. The location could be nicer and the employees a bit more lively, but I’m just being picky there. They delivered on the sinfully delicious and filling food that works with the college budget. When you’re willing to forgive yourself, don’t be afraid to splurge into a Chronic Tacos location. Quick, delicious fix.
