I just wanted to thank Newport Bicycles, they came and rescued me before any of this even happened. Even before the news broke, an man I had just met, Bob, called up these guys and told them what had happened and they came running, they met me like 2 hours before the newscast even happened. They didn’t even know I was going to be on the news until told them after the said they would build me a new bike, for free. What’s great is they didn’t do it for publicity or to boost sales, they did it because they are just really nice people. And from what I have seen, everyone I have met in Tiverton RI has been top notch caring people. I hate to leave them, it feels like home here. But I have to complete my quest. But I get to hang one more time in a group ride tomorrow!

I traveled with my bike from California and after it was re-​assembled (not at this shop) it needed a few tweaks– and they did it all for me right on the spot. The guys were super sweet and helpful and not intimidating at all like some specialty shops can be. I left with a new basket and lock and will definitely going back for future repairs and purchases.

Perhaps I am a little biased but I think the best way to get around town, especially a vacation town, is by bike. When we arrived for a week of sailing out of Fort Adams but were staying just off Thames we elected to free ourselves from the responsibility of driving and popped on over to Newport Bicycle to grab some wheels.
Outside of a little slow going when we stopped in to arrange for our rental we could not have asked for a better experience. Bikes were in great shape and we had not one problem… well until the last day when I discovered a flat. Since we were flying out later in the day it was only a small bummer. When I rolled in to return the bike and noted the flat they immediately offered to get me a new bike to carry on my way.
Great weekly rate and friendly service at this small locally owned business… Thanks Guys!

We used Newport Bicycle to take a tour of Newport one Sunday morning. I was so impressed. The route was diverse, and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I really felt like I was getting to see the Newport most tourists don’t see, as well as visiting the main attractions with the benefit of the open air and exercise. We learned lots of social and historical tidbits of information at stops along the way, at places I didn’t know existed or might not have known to drive to.
The 3-​hour timeframe was perfect, and if you have time, you can extend your exploration by bike by purchasing a pro-​rated bike rental for the rest of the day. The bikes and helmets were comfortable and well-​maintained, too, so I didn’t feel like we were getting the bottom of the barrel just because we were renting. Our guide took the time to make sure our helmets and bikes fit us properly, and took us for a little spin in a nearby drive so we could get used to our bikes.
If you want to book a tour and it’s within a week or so, I’d say call rather than email, because with emails back and forth, finalizing our appointment ended up being pretty last-​minute.

Don’t even bother going to any other shop! These guys are fantastic. The bikes are in fantastic shape and the customer service exceeds expectations every time.

This family-​owned bike shop is the perfect spot for a weekend bike rental. Owners Rob and Christina helped my boyfriend and I with our rental, picking the perfect bikes and helmets for us, while also helping us size the bike’s seat height and adjust our helmets. They were so hospitable and happy to explain the best biking routes. We’ll definitely be renting our bikes at Newport Bicycle the next time we’re in town and looking to ride around. Absolutely delightful!

Great local bike shop. The staff are always super nice & welcoming. They have lots of different styles and sizes of bikes. I have noticed the rentals all look very nice.
Negatives: I try my best to shop local. I understand sometimes that means placing an order for a color or size the shop may not have in stock. However, I placed an order for a basket in another color and never received it from them. I called after a week went by and the assured me in a couple days it would be in and they would call me… It has been about a month since then and no word from the shop. I still recommend the shop for things they already have in stock, but next time I think if I want anything more I will just stick to ordering it online myself.
