Definitely a fan. I’ve come at least 4 times in the past couple months just for the $ 2 Tacos on Wednesday. I’ve also had the $ 5 Pasta and they really DON’T skimp. It seems too good to be true, but it’s true! The service is also pretty great — I’ve always had Erica as a waitress and she’s awesome. Nothing but good things to say here!

I happened upon this spot by accident one morning while visiting. They hadn’t yet opened, but the folks said I could have a seat. They offered coffee, water, whatever they had before they opened. People there were great to me. I was able to wait while using their free wifi. The wait was well worth it. I had the baked wild blueberry pancake. It was phenomenal. My experience was so good, that it prompted me to join Unilocal just so I could share.

Great place, trendy lounge atmosphere with a friendly-engaging staff and good food. But after talking with the boastful owner«Larry Newsome» and finding out his many outdated and racist political opinions: one of which included his sentiment that our country was going down the tubes because of welfare handouts«food stamps and subsidies» to minorities, I won’t be returning. News flash Larry our country is 28% Latino or African American(2010, Census). Not to mention his view that dictatorship is a great way to govern some people — after a brief nod to the massacres of Egyptian citizens by their government(odd coming from a Rhode Islander — «first state to succeed the Union»). I paid my bill and left because of the owner. I have never been so disenchanted by a place as I was after my conversation with Larry. It’s a shame because I loved everything else about this place.

I came here one night with my friend and her family to see a singer perform. I had never heard of it before, and surprisingly I learned it had been open for a while. In the matter of 20 minutes waiting for our party to arrive, we heard the server mention the specials of «Enchiladas, tacos, burritos for $ 2.00» about 11 times. We couldn’t figure out if this meant it would be good, or bad. They did have some pretty good deal on any night that you came… But Most of us played it safe and got burgers, and I got a a pizza. Having 3 or 4 tables come in at the same time, made the server seem overwhelmed, and he told us he had to get the other tables orders before coming to ours. he seemed flustered. It took ours much longer than the other two tables to get our food. We also had to share menus, as there was only about 10 menus total for the restaurant. While the décor was charming and typical for a Newport bar, the food was not impressive and the service just seemed a bit out of sorts. I could taste my pizza in my mouth(and yes I brushed my teeth) for the next 24 hours! I would definitely come back to hear some more live music, but am sticking to safe options on the menu.

The food here is really amazing! We stopped in for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. I had the salmon sandwich; basically a cream cheese and lox bagel on ciabatta bread. It was delicious! He had eggs benedict which he thought was very tasty as well. We both had«flavored mimosas» which were good, but not mimosas(there was no OJ). Service was lovely and the small outdoor patio allowed us to people watch while we ate. The only reason this experience was not«five star» is that their draft beer list leaves something to be desired.

Stumbled upon this place as we were walking along Broadway, noticed a lady having coffee outside with her dogs. we had our puppy with us and wow what a great find… It was the best eggs Benedict and I had 2 peach mimosas that had me feeling quite lovely by the beginning of my afternoon. A friend of mine tried the stuffed french toast which was phenomenal. I will definitely go back if we are ever in Newport again! My pup was even brought a drink outside to our table. Great outdoor/pet friendly dining. Superb!

I’ve been trying veggie burgers all around town for almost twenty years, and this is the hands down best one I’ve ever had anywhere! They are just plain old awesome! I asked why they are so good and its simply that they are freshly home made… All of their other food is fantastic as well! Bartenders, wait staff and owners are all very friendly. One eighty is perfect to stop in for a few drinks and an app with friends, or a romantic date with your lover, and everywhere in between! I highly suggest trying it out!

This place has a great atmosphere and a new chef that is making magic in the kitchen. There is a cool downstairs club thing if your into that stuff. Must try fish tacos!!! They are amazingly awesome!

My wife and I stopped in here for the first time recently to watch a football game and grab a bite to eat. We wanted to find a place that would be at least a little quieter than the«packed to the gills with screaming yahoos» places around 180, but have to admit we were more than a little concerned when we walked past about 15 minutes before the«big game» and there were a grand total of 2 people in the place who weren’t working there. Ultimately, we decided to go and and ended up glad we did; the food was good pub fare(I had a burger and my wife had a salad, we split some sweet potato fries); everything seemed at least reasonably fresh and was freshly prepared. The place itself looked like it could have handled a bit of a deep cleaning and refresh of the décor, but it was okay, overall. There are a lot of options in this part of Newport, but I think we’d consider going back, based on our recent experience.

The service here was great and all of the six people I was with really enjoyed their food. The menu was a good mix for a group of undecided diners that included burgers, flatbreads, and delicious scallop and steak entrees. The prices were decent for Newport and I would recommend giving it a shot if you are in the area and have a group of undecided friends!

Based on a weekend visit in September: Ate here for dinner. A little pricier than Pour Judgement next door but the food is delicious. The ambiance is also a treat to the eye which is a plus. Also went to the dance party in the basement on a Saturday night. It’s like a secret dance club. Never would’ve known about it if it wasn’t for some friends who are from the area. The DJ was excellent and played the best hits of today mixing in dance hit after dance hit. The only bummer is that like almost everything else in Newport, they shut down at 1AM which is real early compared to other cities. Also, good luck trying to get a taxi at that time as well. We made the mistake of trying to get a taxi the same time it closed. Unfortunately, everyone else in Newport is trying to do the same thing so we had to wait at least 45 mins before we ended up walking Downtown and finally catching a cab there.

I’ve had the best meals at this place! I visited Newport about a month ago. I’m just getting around to writing my reviews. During my week stay, I probably ate at all the restaurants on Broadway. I’m over the high priced restaurants along Thames. Yes, these restaurants along the water have great views of the harbor and perfect for people watching, but IMO the food on Thames is way overpriced. If your focus is good food with reasonable prices, come to 180. They had a great special on Tuesday’s – not sure if they still have it going on. Twenty bucks for an entrée, and an appetizer from a fixed menu. I ordered the sea bass which came with risotto and smoked asparagus. The sea bass was amazing. It was topped with a chili sauce that was amazing. The risotto was on point. Cooked to perfection. It was nice and creamy. Finally, the asparagus was a nice surprise. It had a smoke flavor that was out of this world. The bartender was awesome. He was the only one working and he had about five tables to manage. He hustled and still gave us great service. The wine pours were very generous too. We called it the«Newport pour.» I can’t wait to go back. Fun little dance club downstairs with a stripper pole.

Great little place, kind of hidden amongst more popular(but no better!) places on Broadway. Have had several dinners and Sunday brunch here. Always wonderful food and friendly service. Dogs welcome on the patio!

Had drinks with friends here on a Saturday night, and maybe with college winding down, and not quite tourist season, it was pretty quiet. We were seated in the bar/lounge area as you first walk in. I was amazed with the prices. $ 23 for sambucca, a beer, and two glasses of wine? YESPLEASE! I will definitely be returning.

Same theme here. Over one hour to get food. One waitress. Meat orders were mixed up — four plates of food. Not overly impressed. Will not go back with so many other places to try.

NOTE: Only visted for the downstairs bar & music on a Saturday night in January. Downstairs on a Saturday night turns into a dance party. There’s a full bar(if that’s your poison), but also a DJ that plays good music and plenty of space to dance the night away. Since we were there in January, it wasn’t overly crowded — but was the busiest place that we went to that night.(This was stop #3 of 3). The ceiling is low and painted black — not sure why. Good place to dance with a group of friends. The fish tank built into the wall and the dancing pole are just funny talking points. Not sure if I’d go back in the summer — could imagine it being SUPERHOT and STICKY.

Great food at a great price. The staff was friendly and very courteous to me and my family and friends. I would go back any time. Best time to go is during the week. Very hard to park in typical Newport.

Nice atmosphere and good fare. An interesting menu that includes small plates. Drinks are good. The physical space is a bit confined and narrow. Look up at the beautiful vintage tin ceiling.

First of all, Broadway has the best food in Newport, hands down. Yea seafood joints along the wharfs are awesome, but I’d rather get it from Anthony’s in Middletown and grille out back of your awesome condo rental. 180 is one of Broadway’s best kept secrets. There is a lot of competition on the street, but 180 belongs. Excellent bartenders first of all, John’s great and my favorite in Newport is Angie. No matter how hard or drunk her customers are, I’ve never seen her in a bad mood. I remember another sweet as pie bartender there that had to be 8 months pregnant. She remains nameless to me, but she’s great. They are constantly working to improve the nightlife there. As for the food, their steaks are great, pizza’s great, and homemade chips and cheese are good for snacking with beer. It is a well-rounded restaurant with a friendly staff that doubles as an excellent bar after hours… a bar which is located off the beaten path, and one of your best bets in winter. Super cozy with Miami music, outdoor smoking area, street parking, and beat the lines for a drink at the upstairs bar. I split my time between NY and Newport, so I am more familiar with the area than most. Let it be known the bar is called 180 for a reason, as it used to be the most degenerate ridden, disgusting mole hole of a bar that brought down the stock on the entire street. Parents wouldn’t dream of dropping teens off for a shopping day anywhere near this place. They’ve come a long way. Rock on guys!
