My husband and I ate here this week for the first time. Some local friends recommended we try it for the very tasty food. We were very pleasantly surprised! The menu is inspired using lots of spices and flavors and fresh ingredients. We had the Arugula Pizza which had a pesto sauce and a balsamic drizzle. The crust was thin and crisp and overall we loved the Pizza. We also had a Shrimp Po Boy sandwich. The shrimp were fresh and breaded lightly and served on a fresh roll with pickles, lettuce, and tomato. Very enjoyable! Service by the female bartender was excellent. There were even 4 specials in addition to the Menu. We are telling are foodie friends to get to The Parlor to eat!

The Blackened NY Sirloin with«gruyère fondu» was phenomenal — please order it so they keep it on the menu! It was cooked perfectly to temperature and the blackening was perfect too. The gruyère sauce(not a dipping fondu) was so good I could have eaten it as soup, in fact I asked for more, and did dip a couple bites. Our bartender Toni was friendly, engaging — but not too much, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Her suggestions on both food and wine were helpful and genuinely insightful. Can’t wait to go again!

My first visit last night had chicken tacos and were very tasty and healthy ingredients. Paired with deep Eddy grapefruit and vodka!

This is an odd place for sure. The menu goes in a few different directions. I got the lumpia and it was good/ok. My Husband got the steak sandwich and it was way too greasy for him. The bottom piece of bread had soaked it up and had an unappetizing sheen. The service was crazy. There was hardly anyone there. A couple of people at the bar and one other couple at another table. First we started off with waitress«A», and she got us water and we couldn’t figure out what we wanted to order. It took us a little longer than normal. I guess nothing on the menu was really speaking to us. But my husband and I ate always super nice to all servers. Always saying thank you after every delivery and taking away of plates and we always tip 20% base. So waitress«B» came and asked a third time and I thought it was weird that we had been dumped to a different waitress especially since there wasn’t anyone else dining(the couple left). We had decided at this point. Waitress«B» took our order, took our alcoholic drink order, delivered the drinks and our dinner. Ok, whatever. But then… Waitress«A» comes and clears our dishes and presents our check with her name on the check to receive the tip. Waitress«B» comes back and said«Oh,(whatever her name was) got you the check.» She took it and cashed us out. I have never worked in a restaurant setting, and I don’t know who received our electronic tip, but omg. I’ll never go back there. I did like the décor in the bar area though. It was beautiful there. And I liked waitress«B», she was very nice.

Had the Gobi, the chicken wings(teriyaki), Pork spring roll and the Angus burger. This is the best food I have had in Newport for quite a while. Atmosphere and wait staff were excellent. This will become one of my favorite spots.

We stopped here just for a drink and some apps. Based on Unilocal reviews, we ordered the Tofu Tacos and the Cauliflower. We are from PA and I swear that I would almost road trip just for those tacos. Wow! Fantastic! The Cauliflower was almost as great. Really nice apps for a great price and the portion is so big, we never went to dinner! Good beer prices, the menu lists 3 different 22oz bottles. They are actually 750ml bottles so it’s an even bigger value. Great décor, we’ll be back next year!

Parlor has become one of my favorite spots in town! The space is beautiful: clean and chic with a feminine touch. Though it’s still a comfortable place to play pool, see live music, or catch a game on the bar TV’s. The women who keep this place running are an absolute delight — always friendly & engaging. Some of the best staff in Newport! As for the food, well, it has this meat lover craving tofu tacos & fried cauliflower on the regular. The chef here is a master of flavor & textures — honestly everything I have tried from their small changing menu has been delicious. Most recently I was blown away by the creamy corn soup with butter poached king crab… perfection! The beer and wine selection is great, and the bartenders mix up some delicious cocktails. The location is just a quick walk up Broadway which is a total bonus when you’re trying to avoid the tourist crowds. The place is deceivingly big: two bars, two pool tables, gorgeous tufted booths, tables, and even an elegant seating area by the fireplace. The early evening is a bit quiet, and most late nights they feature live music, dj’s, or Karaōke. Plenty of space for dancin’. Locals and tourists alike should do themselves a favor and trek up Broadway to Parlor.

Newport locals you are missing out on some great food. We had the corn soup that had so much flavor that I wanted to take a gallon home if I could have. Menu is limted but everything is GREAT. Staff is friendly, prices reasonable. This a must go to place, a hidden gem. They even have live music & dj’s on the weekend… Rick&Val

I’ve been here a few times, and I’ll be back again. The two bartenders I’ve had are very friendly and chatty. The beer selection is wide-ranging, with a good amount on tap. The cheese pizza was just okay. I asked for blue cheese, which they weren’t sure they had, but the bartender made it her mission to find some in the kitchen. God only knows how old it was when she came out with a cup of it, but blue cheese is blue cheese, am I right? The live music is good on Thursday nights, and the pool tables aren’t too busy, which is a good thing, because I don’t like to share my pool table with strangers. Local crowd and always pretty quiet.

Who needs the trendy, touristy places on Thames St. When you have this gem? If you haven’t tried it you need to. Seriously!!! I could have sworn that I was eating General Tso’s chicken but it was cauliflower. Amazing start to the meal. Then came the Gouda burger and Marsala fries. Can you say food-gasm? The menu is small but that is understandable(and appreciated) since it’s all made from scratch. Plenty of beers, both on tap and in the bottle, to choose from.

The servers were very pleasant, as was the food. The cauliflower was some of the best I’ve had. They were in transition between cocktail menus, and that was the only thing missing from this establishment.

Decided to try for dinner on a cold wintry night. There was no menu online but we decided to give it a try. The bar area is beautiful complete with nice lighting and chandeliers and a roaring fire with couches towards the back. The bartender was super friendly and made a very good Gimlet. Then the menu came. I totally understand and respect places having a small menu but this is VERY small. Also, 2 of the items were unavailable limiting it even more. Unfortunately for me I didn’t see anything I would have wanted to eat for dinner, neither did my boyfriend. We ordered an app. of pulled pork tacos(2) which was OUTSTANDING! I don’t care for pulled pork BBQ etc, but this was amazing! So Good! I wish there was something I wanted to eat for dinner because I could tell there was serious talent and freshness in the kitchen. As soon as the bartender knew we werent staying for a complete dinner, service got a bit snappy(I’m sure this happens often with such a small dinner menu) but I can’t fault her. All in All, if they added a few more options or at least a few specials for dinner we’d be returning for sure. Great for an APP. and a well made drink or craft beer.

I’ve been to Parlor several times and have never been disappointed. I’m obsessed with the gobi, however all of their vegeterian options are fantastic! This is one of the few places that a vegeterian can sit down and enjoy their meal just as much as their meat eating compadre! The drinks are always just perfect, and the staff is sweet, efficient and awesome! Try it out, it will become a new favorite!

We stopped in here not too long ago later on a Saturday. I was here before when it was Café 200. The bar and fireplace area are nice, though crowded on the weekend. The back room looks like someone went to a bad garage sale or raided their grandmothers basement for furniture. Bizarre. The mirrors on the wall do look nice against the brick but that is where it ends. No effort at all to make the seating nice. You can at least put tablecloths on the tables to make them look nicer, and get rid of those chairs. Service was also subpar. We had clearly just walked in and were sitting down, still wearing our coats. A waitress stopped by after about 10 minutes and asked if we were all set, then walked away. Ummm… ok. We had no drinks on the table and just got there. Weird. That is not how you greet new people as a server. Imagine very loud 80’s music and only the older people dancing and this just wasn’t what we were looking for. The second star is only for the bar area, but we will definitely not be back.

Best place to hang out in Newport… hands down. Not too crazy, not too quiet — just the right amount of both and super chill. An awesome beer selection(highly recommend the Pumpking with butterscotch rim), a great menu, and the best(and coolest!) staff around.

I usually don’t review a place until I’ve been there three times… Well, three was a charm for sure! Beautifully designed, welcoming and warm is what you get when you enter. Happy greetings meet you along with lively guests propped up in comfy, loft booths, overlooking gorgeous bar. Service is friendly, unobstrusive and accommodating. We usually have the pleasure of having Hope wait on us. She is a delight! The Gobi Manchurian is habit-forming, as is the Quinoa app. Wine list is perfect, beer offerings are vast and the whole staff is completely approachable and customer-driven. We are ecstatic for this new hood spot.

A breath of fresh air on Broadway! Let me start off with the food here… delicious! I’ve tried the Gobi Manchurian(fried cauliflower with a General Tso’s vibe = amazing), the fries, vegetarian tofu tacos and the chicken breast entrée. Everything was wonderful! My friend got the burger and said it was one of the best she’s ever tasted. The décor is gorgeous! Whites, grays, glass– beautiful! The restaurant is also spacious so you’re not sitting on top of the diners next to you(especially if you get one of their awesome booths). I’ve been 3 times so far and the service has been impeccable. This would be a great place for a large group too! Love it!

Solid choice pre-movie. Had the Gobi(fried cauliflower that tastes more like Kung Pao chicken than fried cauliflower-kind of tremendous actually. Also had the Harissa Shrimp and grits small plate and the Garam Masala French fries which had a dipping sauce with it that was fantastic. Glass of gin got me and cucumber martini for my wife. Very impressive especially if Indian Fusion is your thing.

I’ve passed by this location almost every morning(around 530am) for the past seven years. It didn’t look like anything special. I didn’t give it a second sniff.(I’m a dog and that’s how we do these things.) Wow…my mind has changed after my visit last night. It’s really a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. We tried each of the small plates. Fantastic! My favorite — the Gobi Manchurian… finger(paw) licking good! Nice beer selection. Best yet — doesn’t break the budget — all reasonably priced. Plus, the post office is across the street, so bonus on convenience points. The resurgence of Broadway continues!
