$ 48 for their«A Good Time» tasting. Amazing. Literally 2x what you would get in Boston for LESS than half the price. Quality, presentation and service are excellent. Highly recommend. Also their cocktails are really good! We tried their version of an old fashioned and something with grapefruit, both were delicious.

This place is just amazing. Went in for brunch yesterday, and every dish was a thoughtful, well-prepared, 100%-delicious experience. I settled for something pretty safe — pork sandwich — and it was great, nothing much to say about it except that this was a very good pork sandwich.(Well OK, one thing to say: thank god someone in RI knows how to do this sort of thing with bread that remains crusty, but which does not ravage the roof of my mouth with its sharp edges.) But first I had trout deviled eggs, and that was better, lovely trout flavor without being too cloying(ever the problem with fish-inflected dishes around here). My wife had truffled eggs on toast. And that was *AMAZING*. Not to harp on a theme, but again, tasty mushrooms, cooked to just the right texture, with just the right amount of truffle flavor — not so much I feel like I’m eating a rotted log, as happens oh so very often when mediocre chefs are allowed access to truffle oil. My son had the pancakes. Ricotta pancakes with orange marmalade(they called it something else) and lemon syrup and cream. PERFECT. Lemon syrup was delicate, orange marmalade was not over-sweet, and pancakes were neither white-undercooked nor hard-why-can’t-my-fork-get-through. Coffee’s excellent too, btw. One note about this whole experience — I know that«kid-friendly» means something totally asinine in the United States. It means, «the restaurant presents a ‘child’s menu,’ filled with the revolting fried goods that the fast food industry has convinced credulous parents to use as food, and perhaps some sort of loud device or play structure on which to work out ya-yas, because we all know that children are incapable of being respectful and still.» By that standard yes, this restaurant is not kid-friendly, and if your kid likes that slop, or is loud and obnoxious, by all means go somewhere else. Please do. However, our 5-year old son, who does not eat like that, and who knows how to behave in restaurants, and cannot understand why kids and restaurants here don’t act like KIDSANDRESTAURANTSEVERYWHEREELSEONEARTH — he had an amazing time here, thanks not only to the food but to our server Leah, who is sincerely the best server I’ve had in the US, outside a Michelin-starred restaurant. Seriously: maybe she’s not like this all the time, but if that’s how she typically rolls then give that lady a raise, manager. I don’t ever remember seeing a restaurant worker engage with our son in such a non-condescending, but still highly personable fashion. Short version: this place most certainly is friendly to kids who are properly prepared. If that’s your kid, have no fear.

Really innovative place. Every time I have been there; the menu is new, the food is innovative… the service is awesome. Easily the best place to eat on the island and one of the best I have been to in New England. Sit at the counter as Annie makes some of the best cocktails

Very average. Not sure what all the fuss was about. Decent food but not the«blow your socks off«variety I expected after seeing the reviews. Maybe because it’s off season?

Our meal was AMAZING! I had the braised beef cheek with butternut squash risotto. I fell in love! My guy had the salted cod. It was fantastic! I love how this restaurant gives you little treats in between the meals. For us, we had quail eggs(something that is normally outside of my comfort zone). It was delicious! Although the restaurant is pricey, it is worth every single penny. Run – do not walk – to this place!

This place has pretty much the best food ever, worth every penny! We had the special fried green tomatoes to start, and they were prepared better than I remember having anywhere. I really enjoyed the dinner and dessert too. Every plate was made tediously by hand, using only the freshest ingredients. Sitting outside in the summer on the patio was quite extraordinary, really. Our waiter really knew the menu well and provided important pointers. I can’t wait to try this again for more delectable entrees next season in RI.

First Stupid expensive, yes it’s Newport but wow. Simple storefront business with very attentive service. Sunday Brunch, we read a past review and avoided the biscuit with gravy. The biscuits with jams were yummy. I had poached eggs over harvest veggies which was both original and delicious. Nancy had the ricotta cheese pancakes with poach pear which again was original and delicious. We made the mistake of having Blood Mary’s which were so peppered it required a sip of water before the next bite or you weren’t going to taste the food. And seemingly not a drop of horseradish or anything else save a carrot slice, a Bloody is more than pepper… Brunch for 2 with two Bloodies no coffee = $ 58.00 without tip. $$$$$

Best, best, best among the top of the rest! Locally grown, prepared and hosted at this amazing place. Had dinner and drinks, ordered all local treats and loved everything. Open restaurant, so you can communicate with the cooking staff and see all the ingredients if desired.

Walked in expecting bar food. You know burgers and fries! This is not your typical bar and restaurant! Love the clean, homey country, dim light atmosphere. The food is whole food, farm to table. The menue changes with season. The food is fresh and delicious. Best mussels lve ever had! The presentation was beautiful. The menu has plenty to choose from. The service blew me away. They cleared the table after every coarse and aim to please. Love this place.

One of the best places to get the menu and concept of «brunch» down, and done in a really good way. Might be my favorite brunch place yet… My wife and I came here today for a quick brunch, and were pleasantly surprised with how nice this place was. Can’t beat the mimosa and Bloody Mary offerings either. Stoneace really capitalized on the brunch theme. The menu has some great offerings on board — pancakes, veggie hashes, poached eggs, oatmeal done beautifully, cheeses, etc… They’re extremely well-done and presented even better. Service was great, quick, and friendly. And although it’s a bit pricier than your usual brunch spot, it’s 100% worth it here.

I am sad I don’t live closer to this place. We are definitely coming back during our next visit. We loved it so much we went for brunch and then lunch the next day. Favorites 1.Truffles Egg Toast with wild mushrooms and arugula(they add truffle oil, absolutely divine!). 2. Braised pork chili verde w/fried egg 3. lemon ricotta pancakes blueberry and whipped crème(comes with a small cup of fresh lemon juice to pour over your pancakes, you don’t even need any syrup!). 4. Fried chicken sandwich 5. Pork sandwich(forgot name but it has pork, so pick it!) Overall– no takeout bags necessary. We polished off our plates.

The wife and I were looking for a good brunch spot to eat and our first choice was done and it meant he had to look for another option. Newport is pretty small so we didn’t have to go far and Stoneacre Pantry showed up and looked it looked promising. We walked into the space, seated quickly and got out order in pretty quickly. We ended up waiting a while to eat, and the space was pretty empty. I ended up finishing my lavender limeade way before the food arrived. I got the biscuits and gravy and what I got was a pretty bland milk gravy didn’t taste any sausage or other meat drippings and two equally bland squares of bread. I was pretty hungry at this point and it was something that I didn’t really want to finish. As far as brunch goes I wouldn’t come back.

We were sailing from Sag Harbor and decided to moor in Newport, RI. For the night. We dinged over to the NYC Yacht Club for drinks and then to Stoneacre Pantry for dinner(because they have a reasonable corkage fee for the wine I brought on the trip). Stoneacre is a small, comfortable establishment with nice outdoor patio dinning. We requested and, after the hostess spoke to the owner, we were able to secure a nice outdoor table. The menu is changed daily and takes into consideration the available local produce. We had available fresh slathered lamb, they were serving the leg, Diver scallops, stinging nettle polenta with wild mushrooms, wild strip bass and slow smoked chicken. The menu is limited but the food is good and fresh. We enjoyed wonderful tuna slow cooked in brown butter for a starter. We than had the lamb and scallops. All was wonderfully fresh and very tasty. They also had sides of potatoes, cherry tomatoes and grilled veggies. They were great but expensive($ 14.00 for a small size of cherry tomatoes) The owner was friendly, accommodating and enthusiastic about what he was serving. I would recommend going with the caveat that it is expensive if you are on a budget.

This is probably my favorite place to eat in Newport(when cost isn’t an issue). The wait staff are all great(if you have read my previous reviews you know this is important to me), you get great quality food, they honor your reservations on time, and they care about what they are putting on your plate. I have had brunch here(they don’t take brunch reservations) and dinner(they do take dinner reservations) and it had all been good. Also-the cocktails are wonderful. Clearly they care about every element they are putting out and it shows. The only issue can be parking-but the BEST way to get around Newport is by bicycle. If you live here, buy one, if you are visiting, rent one.

Another great meal here at Stoneacre pantry! This time we’re here for our first brunch. We started with some very unique coffee from Maryland — it had a crisp and tangy finish and was a great start to our morning. We ordered the biscuits with Jam, and Christopher and the kitchen generously let us try the biscuits and gravy — buttery, flakey and just delicious. The sausage had an exciting fennel twist. The mains we ordered the mushroom arugula brioche, smoked salmon with kale, white asparagus and poached egg, quiche, and duck confit. Everything was spectacular. The mushroom dish had a very earthy flavor and was a mushroom overload! The smoked salmon was a thick cut, pan seared, and so succulent. The quiche was incredibly rich with very exciting herbs. Thank you for another great meal!

Everyone must try this restaurant. Our B&B keeper recommended this place and we were so happy we tried it out. Nice cozy setting, elegant farm to table food. Staff was beyond five stars. Everyone was very attentive and if you don’t know what to order, they take time to tell you the details of their dishes. Menu changes every 2 weeks. Cocktails were good but very heavy on the alcohol– good if you like it that way. If you like a sweeter cocktail– get something else to drink.

Remarkable Culinary Craftmanship!(4.5 stars) We dined at Stoneacre Pantry for dinner to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. The first thing I will say is that they were incredibly accommodating to our 10 month old daughter. They did not think twice about welcoming us into their dining room. This is in contrast to some other restaurants in the city that won’t allow children into the dining room. The ambiance was lovely. Welcoming, warm, and simple. The service was helpful and knowledgeable. To start, we had the duck terrine and selection of cheeses. Both were excellent. I enjoyed the chestnut soup for my starter. It was noncream-based and still delicious. I really appreciated that it tasted rich but was actually quite light. The maitake mushrooms really added to the flavor. My wife’s beat salad was delicious. For dinner, I had the pumpkin cavatelli with mushrooms and sauteed onions. The pasta was perfect, slightly al dente. My wife’s smoked chicken was delicious. I know my mother-in-law loved her seafood bouillabaisse. For dessert, my wife and I shared the carrot cake which was moist and rich. My mother-in-law had the chocolate mousse which was dense and dark. The desserts were good but not on the same level as the rest of the food. Also, I would have liked more than 3 choices. Overall, Stoneacre Pantry was excellent and a great choice in Newport.

On a recent Sunday day trip to Newport, we decided to hit up this newish spot for brunch based on the great reviews and gorgeous photos. I am so glad we did! Let me paint a picture: gorgeous sunny day, perfect temperature, light breeze, and a brick patio nestled under a sprawling oak tree outside of an ancient Colonial house converted into one of the most charming, homey restaurants you’ve ever seen. We were warmly greeted and asked if we’d like to sit inside or out, and given the weather chose the patio. Our server was so friendly and attentive, and helped us decide on what to order from the menu full of mouth-watering options. I started with the green gazpacho, which was absolutely delicious and very different — smooth, garlicy without being too strong, and refreshing; perfect for a warm summer day. I then had the fried chicken sandwich, which was heavenly. Heavenly! Perfectly crispy, cooked to a buttery tenderness and accompanied by fresh cucumbers and greens. I will definitely be going back for this sandwich! My husband had the egg sandwich with was also amazing — homemade biscuits, thick-cut bacon, a gorgeous egg, melty cheese and all super-fresh. We ate our food in silence, it was so good. Our water glasses were never empty and the entire place has a very happy, lived-in feel to it without an air of stuffiness or pretension. Just good food, good people and a good place. I am really looking forward to returning to Stoneacre for another meal — it’s my new favorite Newport spot, for sure.
