Uh oh, not doing well in the food planning dept. Despite being a chain, CB has some good qualities. But they are missing the mark in things that they should be able to get right all the time. What do I mean? They have some delightful breakfast options, Swiss Oatmeal and Muesli… but they run out of them, A LOT! They ran out of OATMEAL again today. How does a place that has a formulaic, standardized menu with no daily specials run out of a non perishable over and over? Same thing with pasta. Not running out of meat or veggie or fruit but dry goods? What a disappointment. A place you should be able to depend on is utterly undependable.

Stopped by for coffee and dessert after lunch. The pastries were shockingly poor. The whoopie pie in particular was a dried out mess. It’s a whoopie pie, it should have gobs of smooth, awesome crème in the middle. This one barely had any. And that dry cake. Lord. Terrible! The coffee however was surprisingly good! Even though it was served out of one of those big thermos’, it was obviously fresh at a time of the day when there was certainly no coffee rush. Good sign. As for flavor, it had a very smooth, primarily mocha taste to it. It wasn’t as complex of a coffee like you’d get in a Starbucks or high end café, but it was definitely a pleasant beverage. I’d probably come back here for the coffee. They also have a nice outdoor seating area in the back. Great spot for reading the morning paper and chatting with a pal if you ask me.

What an unbelievable piece of crap this place is. 26 bucks for two meager sandwiches the were premade and reheated. I asked for no mustard and they told me that the sandwiches(that I could have thrown together in five min flat) were already premade with mustard and that I would have to wait more than 15 min for a fresh one. And they took 20 min to serve their pre maid, reheated, «sandwich». Everywhere around will offer better food for less money.

I definitely would prefer Panera over Corner Bakery. But this location is awful! Parking is so bad during lunch time, I had to park across the street near the ACME. I came in and ordered a Spicy Asian Pork sandwich, which wasn’t bad but there’s nothing really asian about it except the slaw which has some pickled vegetables, it’s more of a pulled pork sandwich. The last time I came here with my mom we paid and sat and waited for our food for 30 minutes which is ridiculous for a sandwich and soup. We went up and asked where our food was and they said we never paid. We showed them our receipt and realized they never punched our order in to the kitchen. Probably not coming back for awhile.

Lunch only! I tried the chicken salad sandwich(to go) and threw it away after 2 bites. GROSS! Plastic tasting, fake processed chicken which had more gristle and raisins than anything else. Didn’t even resemble… Chicken. Never tasted anything more processed except for the fake chicken wraps at Buffalo Wild Wings(another miss). Must have been scraps from bottom of the barrel. I would give it zero stars but for the pecan bar bites which make up for it. Save your $$$ — don’t get the«fake chicken» salad.

I’ve been here a few times since my first review, so that means it’s time for an update! I’ve gotten breakfast here twice. It’s pretty decent. I do think it’s slightly overpriced for breakfast, but it is what it is. There are other places around to grab a morning bite, but this is convenient. I partially end up here since it’s right next to my bank. =P I like being able to sit outside. I like that I have an option for egg whites and gluten free bread. I also enjoy that I can order a side of fruit instead of hash browns. Having healthier options is always great. The first time I had breakfast there, I had ordered a breakfast sandwich that had chicken apple sausage on it… which I wasn’t a fan of. I guess I’m spoiled with good chicken sausage, and this stuff was rubbery as hell. The rest of the sandwich was good though. Bread was delicious. The side of fruit is definitely fresh and I like that it was a mixed batch. They use whatever is in season. My second breakfast experience I had ordered an «Anaheim» scramble. That was pretty good. Some veggies and avocado tossed in with some scrambled egg whites. The harvest bread was fresh. The fruit, again, was good. I always get a coffee from here. It’s self serve, which means I absolutely refill it while I’m there. So it’s worth it. They also give you one of those cards where if you buy a certain amount, you get one free. Service is decent. Place has been a lot cleaner my last two visits than my first. I’m sure I’ll be back!

Pretty decent selection of breakfast and lunch items. I do feel like it’s ever so slightly overpirced. Their customer service and hospitality is impecable!

I love the idea of ordering a variety of different salads at the Corner Bakery and knowing the calorie count. So twice in the last couple of weeks I have came in for a Sunday lunch. The salads descriptions sound delicious but alas the salads do not met up to expectation. Today I ordered the Southwest Salad and I got a bowl of very soggy Southwest Salad and that was with the dressing on the side. The lettuce was washed but no dried so it was very watery and that made a mess of the whole salad. I also pay for grilled chicken to be added, I think I had an ounce of chicken included. The last time I was here I ordered a salad that was suppose to have blue cheese in it and they forgot the blue cheese. It took me about 20 minutes to get my blue cheese and the rest of the people I was with were done with their lunch. Unfortunately I feel that the Corner Bakery in Newtown has to work on their quality control.

Love coming here with my husband and baby for breakfast– we love the food. Wish there were a few more options, and it is a bit expensive. The staff are FABULOUS– and it is a very good atmosphere for family.

Not too bad for chain food, a lot similar to Panera, I prefer Corner Bakery though. Service is quick, staff is friendly, food is good.

We used corner bakery to cater a luncheon and I could not be happier with the service, quality of food and presentation. Everything tasted wonderful and every guest commented on what they ate and said they enjoyed everything. This was our first time using them for catering but had visited this location for lunch and breakfast many times prior. Would highly recommend. Used on line ordering and it was quick and easy. Very pleased with our choice.

Ya. im a fan. Its small and food is great. Thats the most important thing right? I come here a few times a month. Must try the PECAN Pie… Food is made to order and service is quick. Nice setting, and the staff is really nice. Great place for some quick food or talk about some important things.

Had previously enjoyed the Corner Bakery but today my wife and I went in at 11:49AM and asked about breakfast and was told we stop serving breakfast at noon We mentioned it was only 10 till and the manager ignored us Management team needs to be told the customers keep the doors open I will find other places now to eat

Great chicken salad sandwich! Bring back the meatball panini please. Ordered takeout today. Paninis were really greasy which isn’t common. My sister got a mini cupcake and said they look better then they taste. She did however really enjoy the cookies! The rest of our 4 person order was great! Will definitely go back.

I want to like this place, because it is close and because I deeply miss Panera, but no. I have eaten there about 5 times, between salads, soups, pastas, and sandwiches, and I haven’t enjoyed a meal yet. The staff is questionable — I do not know quite what the issue is, but I am wary to accept food that has been handled by more than a few staff members. Sneezing, coughing into their hands then grabbing plates, etc. was what I witnessed. Disgusting. Their lemonade is tasty, though.

The hotel we were meeting recommended this place. Placed an order. Got bad directions from the store. Called for help and the manager on duty was too busy to talk and hung up. Horrible behavior. Eventually found the place. Food was ok, a little greasy. Owners need to tighten this location up.

I have been here 3 times. Its just okay. Not tasty. Edible though. Nothing distinquishing about the food or the décor or anything. Its kinda just another place to drop by when you get tired and want a new atmosphere. But I don’t do that because there is nothing memorable about the place except that its… not memorable

It’s a pretty good location as far as this chain goes. I like it for several reasons, free wifi, free refills, and if you need a place to study/kill time/catch up with people they won’t throw you out. There is plenty of space and it’s clean. The food is a little pricey, but that’s typical for CB and I think they have pretty good food. Plus the orange/carrot/ginger shake is delicious!

Corner Bakery Café is still a comfortable place for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and seems to have settled into its skin in the time it has been open in the Village of Newtown. I am partial to the Steel Cut Oatmeal breakfast, and the sandwiches available for lunch. The basic Tuna Salad Sandy is tasty and filling at a reasonable price. The option between Carrot Sticks or Chips is a good one. The Bakery choices are very good, if perhaps a little pricey for the size of each slice, muffin or bagel. Coffee is above average. However, as the current Duke of this domain I am at a loss to understand why I was asked not to take a photo of the display case with all its goodies. I thought free advertising was always a good thing. Especially on Unilocal

Overall very good. Staff can be a little rude. I told a staff member my order was wrong and she proceeded to reiterate what I ordered. I know what I got thank you.
