Starbucks

After moving here from a Big Ten university town with numerous fabulous coffee shops, I was horrified to find that Norman, though larger than where I lived previously, had a terrible selection of coffee houses. They were fraught with unappealing ambience, uncomfortable seating, rude baristas, dirt, bad coffee and espresso, or all of the above. Which left me with Starbuck’s, where I figured at least I would know what I was getting and quality is usually pretty consistent. This Starbucks is by far the best one I’ve visited in the OKC metro. Staff are consistently super friendly and seem like they are enjoying their jobs. I go in 1 – 2 times a week, am greeted by name, and most of the baristas remember my drink order. This is a huge deal to me. Though other Starbucks stores consistently screw up my drink, this one always gets it right. I have not noticed any issues with quality of the espresso, though Starbucks does use automatic espresso machines which probably makes pulling consistently good shots of espresso easier. The baristas hustle, too. You won’t be left waiting while they stand around around chatting (an infuriating issue at a couple coffee houses in Norman) or taking a 5 minute stroll across 10 feet to get you some more half and half. The store is usually very clean, though during really busy peak times, the coffee condiments area can get messy, but that seems to happen everywhere. Bathrooms are also usually very clean and stocked with paper products. There are big comfy chairs to sink jnto as well as hard chairs at tables if you need to work or study. It can get very busy, but there is usually seating. Parking is plentiful. Yes, it is Starbucks, but it is THE BEST Starbucks. I drive out of my way to get an Americano here instead of somewhere closer. The staff will make you feel welcome AND give you a great drink.

Great place! If you’re in a hurry, I would recommend using the drive through. The espresso here is bomb! This is one of the better starbucks to go to if you want to study because it slows down around 2:00 p.m.

This location is nice — for a Starbucks. This location has a nice staff, and being a newer store, is consistently clean and updated. My only major complaint is the drive-​thru. Several times a day, the line will back up to the road, making it hard to access any part of the shopping comes it is a part of.
Unless location is a major issue for you, however, I would recommend going to one of Norman’s other coffee shops, especially Grey Owl or Michaelangelo’s. They sell coffee of a far higher quality, cheaper, and will only take you a mile or two out of your way. Additionally, they are centrally located, meaning you are more likely to be near them.

I really like this location! It’s relatively new– so the interior is very updated & clean. The employees are always very friendly & my order accuracy is usually 100% (with the exception of a few times). The only downfall is that sometimes the drive-​through line is INSANELY long & takes forever to get through. I understand that it’s typical for a place like this to have long lines, but I’ve seen busier Starbuck’s go through long lines like it’s nothing. Everything else about this location is great! Check it out & spend some time with a good book inside!

Every time I have a long lunch break I come here and chillax for a hour or so. They are fast, clean, and as with most SB’s, the quality is consistent throughout all SB’s. The décor is a little small (for Oklahoma’s standard) however, I seem to always get my nice little comfy seat in the corner every time! Lots of students here. I come about 2 – 3 times a week. Keep up the good service.

These people are nice but incompetent. I have given them many chances and try screw up every time. The first time they failed to give me the kids chocolate milk. The second time I ordered a venti skinny vanilla latte and ended up receiving a venti dark roast coffee. I called and complained and they offered me a free drink next time I come in. Then the third time I came in and tried to redeem that free drink the person checking me out accidentally redeemed my reward drink on my Starbucks app. Never going there again!

I stopped here every morning while in Norman, OK. Fast service, smiley faces, and good Mocha.

This Starbucks location is by far my favorite in Norman. While it does help that my office is just down the street, this location has never let me down.
No offense to one of the other locations on town, but you don’t have to deal with hundreds of high school kids ordering, like, a frappucino. The crowd here is mostly made up of college students and working professionals which I appreciate.
The staff here are ALWAYS friendly and attentive. Everyone always has a smile on their face, but are never over obnoxious. Come on, you know the type.
My drinks have always been made just as I wanted them, and I guess I come here too much because they are getting to know me and my order! I appreciate that.
So, now you know why this store is my favorite in Norman.
