I’m not a big fan of buffets. Knowing that other people may have just come from the restroom and not washed their hands geeks me out a bit so I tend to avoid them. Plus, I typically only eat a small plate of food so I never feel like I will get my money’s worth. However, my neighbors highly recommended this place and I had not yet found a good Chinese or Asian food place in the area so I decided to give it a try. I still have not found a good Chinese or Asian place in this area. This food is okay and if you enjoy buffets, you won’t be disappointed. They have virtually everything you could want including sushi(they only thing I truly enjoyed there). Wait staff is attentive and food offerings just okay. If you like to eat a lot of food, you won’t be disappointed. I will continue my quest for good Chinese and/or Asian food in this area.

Not bad for a buffet. Better than average Chinese offerings in the buffet stations. Sushi wasn’t that good. The hibachi grill is the best part– don’t get distracted by the buffet! Fresh veggies and good sirloin steak. A very clean dining room. For $ 15, it’s a great value.

Normally a very good restaurant, we went tonight and were upset when we left. The hibachi food was greasy and the buffet was dry — then my friend found a napkin in her coffee cup — even after explaining and showing the manager we still left being told it was clean paper, I don’t care but paper shouldn’t be in coffee — not a pleasant experience

Very good buffet(was there for dinner twice in one week!). Less expensive than the Mongolian Buffet down the road a ways. I like the atmosphere at Sakura better — and the layout better. Friendly staff. Good food for what it is. Good variety. Happy to recommend Sakura for locals as well as guests to the Myrtle Beach area. Is in the shopping plaza where Sea Blue is.

Standard Chinese Fare, service, and hibachi. I’ve been here many times with friends during our work lunch break. It has rarely disappointed — sometimes they are slow with replenishing the buffet. Good prices and service.

For a buffet i’d say it’s pretty good. We really only come for the sushi, and almost every time we’ve been there they have a had a good selection. The hot and sour soup is great, kimchi and egg drop soup all good. The other food is good also, and for the price you can’t beat it.

I would never eat any seafood from Sakura. When I was there and asked where the seafood came from, they would not tell me or didn’t know. Most buffets use the most inexpensive product they can get. Do a little research as to where it came from and what it really is. Most farm raised is garbage. Check it out on line before you eat IT. Most crab is not crab it fish made to look like crab.

An above average Chinese buffet with sushi, a hibachi grill and desserts. No crab legs. The restaurant was clean and the food didn’t look like it had been sitting out for a while. The price is very reasonable so don’t be afraid to try this place out. It was not crowded the night which is a nice change from many places in the area.

Went to this buffet today to get off the beach crowd. Pleased overall with the buffet. The staff was prompt and very busy tending to the tables and swapping items off the buffet line. The salad bar had a few vegetables that needed to be changed out, but it was just a few. Overall not bad.

Good value! I am a sushi lover. The sushi here has a great variety. For just 13 bucks, all you can eat sushi even nigiri. Comparing to big bucks i normally spend in Chicago, this place really impressed me. Definitely will come back next time if i travel to myrtle beach again.

Food was average for a chinese buffet. The service was horrid. The waiters were yelling in chinese across the restaurant the whole time and the guy at the grill was slamming plates down and muttering under his breath every time someone didnt tip him. Overall not impressed

Pros: Reasonably priced and spacious, that’s about it. Cons: We ended up walking back and forth between the buffet stations couldn’t find much suitable to eat. The hibachi grill bar didn’t have enough variety to choose from, the meats looked suspicious, and they made it way too salty. The sushi bar looked OK at first but my husband took one bite then spit it back out. All other dishes were either rubbery, dry, or laid out there too long. Thought at least I could fill myself up with watermelon wedges, flies were circling the salad bar and making stops. We will never come back.

Pretty good as far as Chinese buffets go. Keep in mind. This review was for just that… a Chinese buffet. It’s not a my first choice of restaurant(type) for vacation. But it fed us.

Sushi was pretty good. Kids enjoyed the salad bar. Other than that, everything was overdone, rubbery, and had a strange back taste to it. The sweet and sour sauce was very odd, and the chicken was stringy and tough. Hibachi was decent, but the steak was overcooked. We had been wanting to try this for a while, but it simply didn’t live up to our expectations. Also, our waitress never came to bring us more water, and although most of the food was bland, there wasn’t anything to wash down the spice in the pepper chicken. Won’t be back.

Everything Nick K said was correct, the food met my every dietary need and provided many great options in their sushi, hibachi grill, and entrée selections. Thank goodness there’s such great Chinese food available in north myrtle beach.

Sakura fulfilled all of my wishes and more. It really brought me back to my childhood in Hong Kong. I was very surprised to find such an authentic Chinese restaurant this far south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Sakura hibachi buffet was a real treat, and almost a perfect substitute for the hole in my heart the Dave B. left.

Fifth visit to Sakura and I have to say that it has been consistent. Food is plentiful with at least five times the number of items offered by the smaller universal-nationwide-chain buffets such as «China Number 1,» and other dives such as «Zeng’s» in Ocean Isle Beach. Service is prompt, atmosphere mostly above average until the cashier and manager start a heated discussion in their native tongue which can be heard above the piped-in music. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp has been a repeat favorite all five times I’ve been there; the sushi and hibachi bars produce fresh ingredient treats, hibachi only during dinner, sushi at dinner and lunch; steamed shrimp on ice was fresh all five times, whole steamed salmon decent, the mai fun could use some seasoning; lo mein was spot-on according to my nephew. The tempura fried fish is fantastic but don’t confuse with the the chicken tenders done the same way(they’re side by side on the buffet and identical in appearance; chicken is overcooked); they never stop bringing you another soda/tea, even if you ask them to stop, but that’s normal oriental buffet behavior. Price is about 22 bucks plus tip for two persons at lunch and well worth it. Visited July 2013
